Chapter 337: A Very Memorable Experience

Nathan frowned as he sat right next to Raine on their flight home. His thoughts still lingered on that one foreboding threat that was hanging over his head, and the fact that his mate was seriously considering it good enough to be blackmail material was making him more worried than usual.

’Seriously, what the hell did I do?!’

"You’re awfully quiet," Raine pointed out with a smile as their plane took off.

"You did say earlier that I only have until the plane lands to remember what I did to you," he nervously chuckled. "So understandably, I’m concentrating to see if I’ll actually remember what happened."

"Well, you better remember fast," she giggled. "The flight isn’t that long if I remember correctly."

Sadly, she did remember correctly. The flight back to Country V didn’t even last an entire day, which meant that he only had a few hours to figure things out.

"I’ll let you concentrate then," Raine thankfully let up, turning her attention to her father as she giggled. "In the meantime, I’ll go entertain Dad, if that’s alright with you."

"Sure thing, my sweet vixen."

For a brief time, Nathan let himself watch as Raine sat next to Lark, her hands gently holding onto the older man’s in a seeming attempt to calm her father down. He didn’t think that he was feeling afraid, but clearly his input wasn’t needed for now.

Gazing out the nearby window, Nathan took a deep breath as he thought back to what little he could remember from last night’s drinking session. He could distinctly remember him and Lark getting into a tussle, and he could also remember the fact that he barely won by the skin of his teeth. The older man might not have had the strength to overpower him, but his experience in fighting had almost given him a run for his money as he used a bit more in his fighting arsenal than he had wanted. Truly, Lark had surely been a menace back when he was of a sound mind.

’Wait... I’m getting sidetracked,’ he thought to himself with a shake of his head. ’Think... What happened after that...’

Wracking his brain for answers, more bits and pieces of last night came to fore. Yes... After their fight, they had turned to drink away their aching bruises in a fit of camaraderie. It had been a fun experience, and Nathan found himself somehow making small talk with a man that only replied whenever he was questioned.

’I guess that was the alcohol making things easier...’

Moving on, things started to get even blurrier than usual. He remembered slumping his back onto the couch, his body almost passing out on him due to his constant drinking. There were a lot of property damage, and the next thing he knew was that the door opened to reveal his wife looking at him like he had just committed a war crime... wait...

"Did we seriously trash the house?" he voiced aloud.

"Yes, you did," Raine answered him with a patronizing smile. "You’re getting closer, at least, but I still don’t know how you didn’t even notice that happening. I would’ve thought that you were better than that."

"I was," Nathan frowned. "But apparently, we both fought in the living room, and the furniture became collateral damage."

"I apologize for that, Raine," Lark suddenly chimed in, probably having heard their conversation. "It was I that suggested that we fight to test his strength."

"It’s alright, Dad," Raine warmly smiled. "It’s all fixed now, right? So let’s not think about those things too much."

Nathan shook his head in amusement even as he returned his attention to recalling what had happened. Surely, the fact that they both woke up naked by each other’s side had tipped him off that they did make love that night. Not being able to remember such a thing irked him, but apparently, that wasn’t the event that gave Raine the dirt she was clearly lording over him. Well, he still took solace in that he did such a great job that she wanted it to happen again, but that wasn’t the problem he had right now, didn’t he... wait...

"Raine?"

"Yes?"

"For some reason, I’m remembering the taste of acid," Nathan curiously recalled. "The same could be said when we woke up this morning. My mouth tasted sour somehow..."

"Ooh, getting close now, are we?" she teased him with a smirk. "Come on. You can do it."

Shaking his head, Nathan honed in on the clue he had just gotten. Raine confirmed that the acid taste in his mouth was a clue. It was most definitely not because he ate her out, right? She never tasted that way, even at her worst...

...

....

Oh... Oh no...

"Do you remember now?"

Nathan’s face paled as the memory of the event- no, incident blurrily played out in his head. Unfortunately, he didn’t remember much of the events immediately prior to it, which was dreadful seeing as it was clearly him making love to her. Instead, he saw her face looking at him lovingly, the sight of it moving his inebriated mind so hard that he then promptly vomited all over the side carpet.

"You..." Nathan trailed off, horror dawning on his face as he looked at Raine in utter embarrassment. "What did you do afterward?"

"Well, I cleaned it up," she nonchalantly shrugged. "And I did it all with my knees shaking from how good a job you did with plowing me into oblivion."

Nathan awkwardly chuckled. "Sorry about that. I didn’t know what came over me."

"Come now," she scoffed. "Like I said, it’s all fine. Besides, it was an experience I will forever remember. It’s like a very memorable experience, you see...."

Raine chuckled while Nathan’s face burned deep red in embarrassment. He was sure that his dear wife would tease him about it whenever she was at it... He still couldn’t believe he would even do something like that. He should avoid getting drunk from now on because this was something that he wouldn’t want to have a repeat of again.
