Chapter 298: Words of Love and Vows
At Moon Clan Territory
Once again, it became one of the busiest days inside the Yue Mansion, because today was the most awaited wedding ceremony for the newly crowned king of the Moon Clan Nathan, to the Princess of Sun Clan, Raine, whom all initially thought to be the Princess of Moon Clan. Nevertheless, everyone in the Moon Clan territory was ecstatic to see that such a joyous event would be held in the vast expanse of the Yue Gardens.
As was expected, every member of the clan was invited to witness and celebrate the said occasion. As such, the decorations were extended well outside towards the road of the Yue Mansion, where a big LED screen would broadcast the wedding ceremony live for members who were unfortunate enough to not be accommodated inside the mansion.
To the surprise of no one, Levi and Mia handled the event, making sure that everything would go according to plan even well before the wedding ceremony even started.
Currently, Raine was inside their bedroom getting ready, her own stylish and designer busy with making sure that she’d be more than presentable for the event.
Even as she sat still in front of the mirror, she couldn’t help but feel excited about what was about to happen to her in a few hours. Even if she had spent the past days being moody and feeling a bit lonely not being with Nathan, she still felt giddy at the prospect of being married to the love of her life. And to think that she even almost came to the point of running away and calling off the wedding at some point. She could only guess that it was a decision only made out of her annoyance with her situation.
’But now it’s actually happening,’ she inwardly smiled.
Truly, this day was highly special to both Nathan and herself. Starting today, they would legally become husband and wife, and nothing was going to stop it from happening.
’It would be nice though if we can spend our honeymoon without a care in the world after this though,’ she mused with a sigh. Unfortunately, such a thought was nothing but wishful thinking on her part. After all, it would just be impossible for them to do such a thing.
"You’re so beautiful, madame," her stylish praised her as soon as she finished grooming her. True enough, Raine indeed looked beautiful. She currently wore a very unique and stunning wedding dress, one embroidered with fairytale-like floral design that fitted well for her garden wedding.
Seeing her reflection, Raine smiled at the mirror in satisfaction. She looked like a fairy with those floral designs stitched onto the gown, and it just fit her curves perfectly with a midchest cut that exposed her perfect shoulder lines.
As if sensing that her preparations were over, Mia entered the room with her father Lark.
"King Nathan has already arrived and is currently waiting outside," Mia informed. "We can start whenever you’re ready."
Raine nodded at the news before she then stood up and approached her father. Smiling, she raised her brows in appreciation at what she saw.
"You look so handsome, Father. I mean, wow... It’s not too late for you to become a groom yourself," Raine murmured in amazement. "I’m sure that any woman who’d see you will drool at the sight of you."
Currently, her father wore a linen beige suit in all its crinkled, crumpled glory, along with a white shirt underneath with brown leather shoes to give him a perfect and fresh look. Who would even think that they were a father and daughter pair? From how they dressed and looked, they were more likely to be mistaken as siblings with her father being her older brother.
"I agree completely," Mia seconded as the latter’s eyes glimmered together with her stylist and designer, all of them staring dreamily at her handsome father Lark. Ever since he had his beard and mustache removed, everyone finally had the opportunity to see the real face of Randall, who was now well known as Lark, the Prince of Sun Clan.
Seeing the praise being heaped on her father, Raine giggled as she quickly hooked her arms around her father’s. As usual, he bore no expression on his face at all even against all the praise he was getting.
"Let’s go, Dad," Raine chortled as she ushered her father outside the room. "From now on, I’ll address you as Dad. It sounds perfect, and seems more fitting with how young you look."
As soon as they reached the start of the aisle, the music finally started to play. On cue, Raine began to her walk with her father down the white carpet, making her way down the grand stairs of the mansion as she smiled at the audience.
Countless cameras flashed to get a glimpse of her, Raine had her widest and most genuine smile on for the adoring crowd. Looking around, her smile only grew more genuine as she saw that her newfound family from the Sun Clan was there. her uncle, the King of Sun Clan, along with his daughter Luna.
’It would be nice if Mara is here too,’ she sadly mused.
Unfortunately, now wasn’t the right time for such a meeting. It would be nice, but there hopefully be a next time on some other event that they’d go to as a complete family.
Making their way through the crowds, they soon reached the outside garden where Raine finally saw Nathan waiting for her, along with Davin and Aunt Ester at the end of the carpet with flower petals scattered everywhere.
Raine held her breath upon seeing how intense Nathan’s gaze was currently with her. She could feel his emotions through their Mate Bond in all their glory, and surely he could feel his since they didn’t bother putting a wall between them today, unlike in the past few days.
She chuckled, feeling the mixed emotions he was having just by seeing her. It was way too overwhelming as if their emotions were feeding off each other in a synchronized loop.
[Finally...] Nathan telepathically talked to her. [Oh, God... You look so beautiful, and I don’t even think the word is even doing you justice, my sweet vixen... I’m blinded by your beauty...]
Raine inwardly squealed. The brute was currently being very good with his flowery words. Still, seeing her soon-to-be husband like this easily washed away all of the negative emotions she experienced while he was away from her. He was so blissful in his warmth, and so was she as she basked in his presence.
Soon enough, tears started welling up in her eyes. She wasn’t the emotional type of person, however, and she couldn’t help but wonder if it was because of her being pregnant that she easily cried like this.
[Why are you crying?] she playfully asked him upon seeing that he was also wiping away a few tears from his face.
[They’re tears of joy...] Nathan answered with a beautiful smile.
Right, it wasn’t her pregnancy that she would recently often blame her mood swings on. She was crying because it was purely tears of joy at being in this sacred union with the man she loved. A union where they would confidently call each other husband and wife.
[I’m so lucky to have you in my life. Please know that I will never let you go, even if you to tried to shove me away,] Nathan confessed. [I’ll keep holding on to you, and I’ll stay with you for the rest of my life. I just love you so much, Raine...]
[I love you too, Nathan,] Raine sincerely answered. [There’s no other man in the world I would rather be in this lifetime other than you. Only you...]
The wedding ceremony was just starting, and she was still on her way towards him, but the two of them were already exchanging their words of love and vows with one another.
