Chapter 297: All Over Me

Meanwhile, Lyne also had a busy day assisting Nathan in wrapping up as many loose ends as possible at the Convel Society before he could abdicate the throne. They would like to make sure that he left nothing of note as a problem before he permanently focused his rule at the Moon Clan.

"You’ve worked hard, Lyne. Thank you," Nathan thanked with an appreciative smile. "Why don’t you go on ahead? I can continue where we left off here alone with Decan."

Taking the opportunity, Lyne nodded, and soon bid goodbye to Nathan and Decan as they remained inside one of the meeting rooms in the King’s hall to finish more work.

Walking out, she was well on her way outside the King’s Place when she saw Boris coming up to her together with Aspen.

"Hello," Lyne greeted the two men.

"Hi," Aspen greeted back. He then looked at Boris and said, "I’ll go on ahead."

Boris nodded, letting Aspen leave before he turned his head to her and said, "Let’s go?"

Lyne frowned. "Aren’t you going with Aspen?"

"No..." Boris smiled. "Instead, we’re going to have dinner. I just walked with him here to pick you up. So, shall we go now?"

"Sure," Lyne nodded, and the two of them started walking toward the car Lyne brought with her. Boris grabbed her keys to drive, and she didn’t bother with complaining about their arrangement. Soon enough, they were on the road again.

"Where are we going?" Lyne asked as soon as she noticed that Boris was driving them out of the vicinity of the Convel Society.

"We’re gonna have dinner outside to have some fresh air," Boris enthusiastically answered. "I know a place not far from here where they serve fresh seafood near the Canon Bay area."

From his smile alone, Lyne could feel the excitement coming off of his aura. And from that, she couldn’t help but smile at his infectious demeanor.

Feeling the mood, Boris turned on the music in her car, humming along with the music as he drove.

"You’re in tune," she commented.

Hearing her praise, Boris seemingly got enough confidence that he even sang along with the music. The sing along continued, and she burst out in laughter when she heard Boris try to hit a high note but failed.

"That’s hard..." he lamented with a pout. "Geez... I should’ve stopped before hitting that one note if only to let you hear just the good side of my voice."

"That was fun though," Lyne murmured, still chuckling at his expense. Ah, she couldn’t even remember the last time she had a good laugh like that. "I wouldn’t mind hearing broken notes from you like that."

"Figures," Boris scoffed. " Still, how about you, Lyne? Do you like singing?"

"Hmm, I guess so, since I love music," Lyne commented with a smile, recalling the good old times she had with her father over karaoke. She was a good singer and dancer, but unfortunately, she was too introverted a woman to do so for someone else. Thus, she would only sing and dance with her father.

"Ah, good thing then, since the restaurant we’re going to have private rooms where we can sing and dance alone," Boris excitedly said.

"A karaoke bar?" Lyne asked out in surprise. She couldn’t even remember when was the last time she entered one.

"Yep," Boris chuckled. "And we’re almost there."

Soon, the car came to a stop near the bay. She was about to go out after removing her seatbelt, but as always, Boris was quick enough to go to her side of the car and open the door for her.

"Thank you," Lyne whispered.

Boris extended his hand out to her, and surprisingly even to herself she accepted it. Letting him hold her hand as they walked their way to the open restaurant, she couldn’t help but look out at the view of the bay and the city lights from where they stood twinkling against the darkness. Once they were inside, Boris pulled out a chair for her, which she promptly sat on.

Sitting down, she bit her inner cheek at the weird sensations going through her. She could feel her heart beating abnormally from all of Boris’s gentlemanly gestures. Of course, it wasn’t the first time he had acted this way, but unlike before, Lyne was feeling it stronger than usual. Right then and there, she could tell that Boris was seemingly growing on her faster than she anticipated.

Honestly, she felt special whenever she was with Boris just because of how he wanted to treat her that way. No other man had managed to connect with her like that. Some had tried, sure, but those men easily gave up on whenever she would shut them down.

"What would you like?" Boris asked as soon as the waiter came over to ask for their orders.

"Anything will do," she plainly answered before turning her head to look at the beautiful lights across from where they were seated. Seeing Boris order so much food, she teased, "Are you starving?"

Boris chuckled. "Hmm... Not really, but I want you to try every dish they have and tell me what you like the most."

"You always seem to ask me about the things that I like..." Lyne murmured.

"Of course. I want to get to know you better," Boris directly stated. "I want to know what you like the most, so I’ll do just that while also avoiding things you dislike. That way, you’ll grow fond of me."

Lyne blushed at the blunt answer. All of a sudden, she felt her throat dry up. In truth, she also actually wanted to know more about Boris.

"How about you then?" she asked. "What are your likes and dislikes?"

Boris looked at her intently. Lyne gulped under his intense gaze, and there was her heart again, pounding so hard that it felt like it was going to burst out of her chest if she didn’t address it soon.

"There is only one thing I dislike about Lyne, and one thing that I like," Boris began. "I dislike it whenever you don’t look at me the way I look at you, and the only thing I like in this world is for you to finally accept me."

"That’s cheating..." Lyne murmured with a flustered face. "You shouldn’t answer it like that."

Boris had a roguish smile as he said, "Alright fine. What I like is YOU, and what I dislike is dishonesty..."

"...."

Lyne blinked at the basic answer she got. She was even about to complain when their fresh seafood finally arrived. Boris quickly moved to grill some of them while putting the others into a hotpot in with a flavored broth. He then started placing the already cooked dishes on her plate.

As he was doing so, he asked, "Tell me, do you like spicy foods?"

"Moderate spice," she curtly answered. "How about you?"

"Of course, I like my food spicy and hot... like you..."

"Stop that," Lyne timidly complained, her face going beet red with embarrassment.

"I can’t help it... you’re all over me," Boris casually answered casually with all the seriousness in the world.

’Ah, this man will be the death of me!’ Lyne inwardly grumbled.
