Chapter 210: Because I like you

Outside, Sanya sighed as she walked through the hallway to leave Nathan’s private residence at Blue Moon Pack compound. It would seem that Nathan hadn’t told Raine yet of how her father was now awake and had apparently held two children from the Convel Society hostage. Sanya just hoped that things would turn out well in the end. She felt bad for Nathan, and it was clear that the man deserved to be happy. She had longed to pray that Nathan would find someone that he could love and care for; someone who could help him overcome the grudges of the past as he grew up.

And apparently, her prayers were answered in that Nathan no longer thirsted for vengeance like before. However, fate seemed to be playing with the man... Giving him such a complicated destiny like this.

’Hang in there, Nathan,’ Sanya silently hoped. ’I’m sure there’s a purpose for everything that’s happening, and you will definitely overcome this storm just as well as how you used to...’

Everything started with Marcus and Saniya strongly believed that things would only end peacefully between Convel Society and Moon Clan once Marcus was already gone.

Meanwhile, at the Moon Clan Territory...

Levi felt like dying after giving out his long explanation to King Marcus. He waited anxiously for something... any reaction...

Then, he saw King Marcus smirk as he murmured, "Ah, Levi... What should I do to you? You see, I appreciate how you follow my daughter’s instructions with unbreakable loyalty. I’m sure the rest will have the same story as you have, as was instructed to you all by my own daughter." He scoffed, "Just this once, I will be lenient to all of you for missing out on a few important details that I should know about. You’ve all had a tough night, so go to your room and rest..."

Levi didn’t even utter a word. By his King’s leave, he immediately went out of the room with his heart hammering inside his chest. King Marcus definitely knew more than he let on... Was it Randall that gave him a full report on what happened while he was in a coma? Had he somehow kept an eye on the clan and Princess Raine’s movements all along without them knowing?

"We’re spared for now... but I’m not sure how long this will last," Levi gravely whispered as he quickly made his way to the room where Mia was possibly waiting for him.

Walking through the hallways, he had lost count of how many sighs he released over the past few seconds as he made a beeline towards their Boss’s private wing in the mansion. Reaching his destination, Levi opened the door and silently walked inside the private meeting room. He then let out a long deep sigh upon seeing that Mia was still inside, sleeping peacefully on the couch inside the room. Carefully walking towards her, Levi bent down so that he could have a better view of her sleeping face.

’She looks so tired and restless...’ he thought as his eyes traced every part of her features while staring at her. And when staring no longer seemed to be enough, Levi found himself unconsciously touching her smooth face.

"She’s cute," he subconsciously uttered with a smile.

Looking at her now, Mia’s short dark brown hair with bangs only made her look younger. And not to mention that one dimple she had on her cheek that would only appear whenever she smiled. Locating the one spot, he playfully poked that specific part of her cheek as he smiled further.

’Ah, she’s sleeping like a log...’ Levi mused, his eyes darting towards her plump red lips. Focusing on that specific spot, his face reddened as he unconsciously touched his own lips, his mind recalling the first kiss that they accidentally shared back when she was sleepwalking.

Levi gulped, his eyes never leaving Mia’s lips. For some reason, there was this urge inside him telling his body to lean down and kiss her.

’Stealing a kiss?! Gather your senses, Levi!’ his inner self reprimanded, but the urge was getting strong enough that he was already leaning closer to Mia’s face before he even knew what was happening.

This was ridiculous. It was like he didn’t care anymore. Their lives were always at risk anyway, so why did he even feel the need to hold back? He won’t! Not anymore! This burning desire inside him had tormented him for long enough!

With a burst of confidence, Levi pressed his lips against Mia’s. Immediately, he felt her soft lips touching against his, only this time, he could kiss her longer and more deliberately. He was sure that Mia would kill him once she woke up and caught him taking advantage of her lips like that, but he simply liked her too much to even care. Already, he knew in himself that he didn’t want to stop kissing her like what he was doing right now.

Going further, he groaned when he found himself able to suckle on Mia’s lower and upper lips. It was exquisite, but his body immediately froze when her body shifted slightly. Levi held his breath as he felt Mia move, his love opening her sluggish eyes that quickly widened at the sight of him on top of her.

"What are you doing?" Mia mumbled out, their lips still pressed against one another.

"Kissing you," Levi casually replied. Inside, he couldn’t believe he just answered her like that. Still not moving, he held his ground as their eyes remained locked at one another.

"Why?" Mia asked.

"Because I want to..." Levi murmured.

"Why do you want to?" she asked back with another question.

Levi inwardly winced. All throughout their exchange, he wanted to complain so badly because her hot breath entering his mouth was definitely not helping with his self-control. The longer they went like this, the more that he just simply wanted to seal her lips and kiss her senselessly.

"Because I like you, Mia," Levi succinctly spoke, finally gathering enough courage to say those words to her right in her face.

Yes, he did like her, and he was made sure of it after seeing Mia’s face flash through his head back when he thought he was going to die during his battle inside the Convel Society. During that time, deep inside him, he found himself hoping that he could survive and see Mia’s face one more time and tell her how much she was somehow tormenting him for the past few days. Of how her face would always somehow pop up in his head at the most random of times. Of how her smiles constantly brightened up his day that he would often make excuses of having some work to do inside the control room whenever she was there just to see her. Of how he would cook a lot of meals, knowing how she just loved eating them... It was the reason why he guarded the kitchen so well that even though Boris was cooking, he still had enough of his personal space to cook meals, especially for her...

Of course, none of these reasons left Levi’s mouth at that moment.

Meanwhile, Mia was caught off-guard by the sudden confession. It was unexpected, but a beautiful smile still appeared on her face as she immediately wrapped her arms around Levi’s neck. Mia relished the moment they had to themselves as she whispered, "I’ve liked you too for a long time now... You dummy..."

"Huh?" Levi gasped. Well, that was unexpected. He never thought that Mia would ever see him in such a light, but here she was also springing her own brand of confession to counter his own.

"You like me?! Since when?" he asked in disbelief.

"Ever since I entered the Moonlight Squad," Mia confidently confessed, thinking why she would ever deny such a thing when Levi had finally said the words she’d wanted to hear for so long. It didn’t matter who liked the other first, as long as they finally realized that they had mutual feelings for each other. So long as they had that, it was more than enough for her to finally confess.

Levi couldn’t do anything except gulp his astonishment down as Mia pulled him closer. "What are you doing just staring?" she seductively murmured with a grin.

At her words, Levi’s face reddened as he reconfirmed, "This means we’re in a relationship now, right?"

Mia had a pout as she complained, "You already took my first kiss. Do you think I’ll let you slide that easily?"

Levi chuckled as he mumbled, "That wasn’t even a proper kiss..."

"Hmm, then you can show me what a proper kiss is truly like," Mia teased with her adorable smile, proudly showing off that cute dimple of hers as she beamed.

Taking it as his cue, Levi pressed his lips against hers, eagerly showing the woman he loved just how much he wanted to kiss her right then and there.
