Chapter 81: Finally Reach Land
As I swam eastward, the sun glaring in my face, I stayed on high alert. This vast ocean wasn’t as peaceful as it appeared, and who knows what other powerful sea monsters might be lurking nearby, watching me from beneath the surface. It was a terrifying experience to fight something so massive, but thankfully, I’m slowly getting used to it.
...
...
Seven hours later...
As night fell, enveloping the ocean in darkness, the only source of light was the moon shining from above.
Dammit, it’s so dark here... I can barely see anything...
While I possessed great strength, the prospect of being alone in the vast ocean at night induced some fear within me. Nonetheless, I refused to let it sway my determination and continued to swim undeterred. My resolve remained unshaken as I persisted, hoping to find an island or a suitable piece of land to set foot on.
Since I can’t sleep safely in the middle of the ocean at night... I guess I’ll have to keep swimming until I find land. Only then will I be able to lie on solid ground and sleep comfortably.
My heart raced, gripped by the fear of being alone in the dark expanse of the ocean. Furthermore, the looming danger of sea monsters added to the unease, as they could attack me at any given moment.
SWIM! SWIM! SWIM!
A few minutes later...
Before I knew it, a swarm of sea monsters emerged from the depths, their forms twisting in the murky darkness as they ambushed me. In an instant, I was yanked beneath the surface of the water.
"Fuck—!!!"
ROAAARRR!!!
In the pitch-black water, I couldn’t see a freaking thing. But I wasn’t about to back down without a fight. I threw random punches, kicks, and smacks, desperately hoping to land a hit on any of the sea monsters underwater. After all, one good hit was enough to take down any sea monster instantly, as these days I’d gotten strong enough for that.
PUNCH! KICK! SMACK!
Regrettably, most of my attacks missed. But it didn’t matter—one random strike was all I needed to take out any sea monsters that were close to me or bothering me.
Ugh! This is frustrating! I can’t catch a break as long as I’m stuck in the middle of nowhere in this seemingly endless ocean. Goddammit! I need to find land—fast—so I can stop dealing with this crap.
...
...
I had no clue how many hours had passed, but finally, morning came, as I could see the sun slowly rising on the horizon. With better visibility thanks to the sunlight, I scanned my surroundings once again, but sadly, there was still no sign of land or any islands nearby.
Seriously, does this world even have land in the first place? Or is it just a water planet? I couldn’t help but wonder.
A week later...
I was beginning to lose hope of finding any land; this damn ocean seemed endless. Ugh, what is this endless body of water?! Jeez, just how vast is this world’s ocean?!
Keep in mind that I swim a lot faster than the average person—even faster than a boat. Yet, even after traveling for miles after miles, I still haven’t seen any sign of land nearby.
Out of nowhere:
ROAAARRR!!!
More sea monsters appeared out of nowhere and attacked me again. Ah! This is seriously really starting to piss me off! Ugh, I’m so sick and tired of these damn sea monsters constantly bothering me! Grrr!!!
My frustration reached its peak as I fought off these relentless colossal sea monsters that just wouldn’t leave me alone! All I wanted was to find some land—any solid ground I could stand on—just so I could finally catch a break from these damn annoyances.
...
...
Half a year later...
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I spotted a vast stretch of land on the horizon. I couldn’t believe my eyes. "Oh, is that land over there?!" I shouted, my voice filled with excitement. "Hahaha! Yes! Woohoo! Finally! Holy shit!" I celebrated.
For a moment, I stopped swimming, my eyes locked on the land ahead of me. I could hardly contain my excitement.
Holy crap! I honestly couldn’t believe it was real. Just when I thought I was doomed—stranded on a never-ending water world with no hope in sight—I had almost given up.
I had been drifting aimlessly for what felt like ages, battling the relentless waves and vicious sea monsters, surviving on nothing but sheer willpower. The sea had been my endless prison, and it felt almost like I would never be able to escape it.
But now, here it was—the land I had been dreaming of, right in front of me.
Thank god, all my hard work had finally paid off. It felt like a dream come true. After months of uncertainty and fearing that I might never see solid ground again—but now—now I could finally rest.
I could feel the weight of exhaustion lifting from my shoulders, knowing that I had made it through the worst. The ocean had tested me, but I had won.
As I neared the vast land ahead, a rush of relief and pure joy surged through me. The exhaustion from months of relentless swimming and fighting off sea monsters seemed to vanish in an instant. The thought of finally stepping onto solid ground made everything feel a hundred times better, so much so that, for a moment, I completely forgot about all the struggles I’d been through.
The shore came into view, and I pushed myself harder, my swimming strokes getting faster. Meanwhile, the sea monsters, sensing my escape, launched one last desperate attempt to drag me back into the depths. But despite being nearly out of energy, I fought back with everything I had. I wasn’t about to let them win now—not after coming this far!
PUNCH! KICK! SMACK!
I did everything I could to keep the sea monsters from getting in my way, kicking, punching, and smacking through the water with all the strength I had left. Every stroke felt like it took away all of my energy, but I pushed on, determined to reach the shore. The sea monsters weren’t giving up either—clawing, snapping, and thrashing in the waves, trying to drag me back down into the depths.
Then, finally, with one last surge of power, I leaped onto the sandy beach, my body crashing onto the shore as I gasped for air. The waves continued to crash around me; the warm water lapped at my exhausted body, a reminder of everything I’d just gone through.
Finally! Holy shit! I can’t believe this! The sensation of solid ground beneath me felt like a dream, like I was straight out waking up from a terrible nightmare. Ah, I’m so glad it’s finally over! Now, I can finally close my eyes and sleep peacefully, free from worry at last.
SLEEP!
I was so exhausted that I drifted off almost immediately after landing on this vast beautiful beach, the weight of everything I’d been through pulling me into a deep, dreamless sleep.
Zzzzzz... SNORE!
