Chapter 68: Sky Dragon Boss

After a brief moment, several alien soldiers stepped out of the portal. In an instant, the Sky Dragon froze, its movements halting completely, as if it were terrified of the aliens. The mighty creature, usually brimming with pride in most fantasy stories, now appeared surprisingly submissive, behaving like a cute puppy in front of these alien soldiers.

It’s crazy to think that these alien soldiers weren’t even high-level to begin with. Their levels only ranged from Level 10 to 50, varying from one individual to another, and yet none of them came close to matching the power of an S-Ranker. By all logic, they should have been insignificant compared to the ancient beast like the Sky Dragon.

However, their advanced technology completely tipped the scales. With weapons like plasma guns that could melt through almost anything and that goddamn barrier shield shielding them from nearly all attacks, they didn’t need overwhelming strength. Their sheer technological advantage alone made them a force to be reckoned with.

Without delay, the alien soldier at the very front stepped forward and said, "Alright, listen up, everyone! The reason I’m here is to remind you of something and offer a few tips. If you want to survive and live comfortably from here on out, you’d better work hard and make sure you don’t die here."

The alien continued, "First things first: try not to fall off this floating island. If you do, you’re as good as dead because about 50,000 feet below is a vast ocean filled with powerful colossal sea monsters. No joke, these things could even tear a spaceship apart with a single swipe. So yeah, try your best to stay on solid ground."

The alien soldier stroked his chin, thinking for a moment. "Hmm... what else did I forget to mention?" He paused, eyes narrowing as he recalled something important. "Ah, right, I remember now. The good news is, there’s no time limit for this final trial. You just need to beat the Sky Dragon, and an exit portal will spawn right after you do. That portal will take you straight back to the spaceship. Pretty simple, right?"

The aliens turned around, facing the portal, his expression hardening. "Alright, that’s pretty much it for now! With that said, we’ll be leaving now, so good luck on surviving, everyone!"

After telling us everything we needed to know, the alien soldiers let out a sinister laugh that sent a chill down everyone’s spine. Their eerie laughter echoed in the air, lingering for a moment as if mocking us. With a final, cold glance, they stepped back into the glowing portal, their figures slowly vanishing as the portal flickered and closed behind them.

As soon as the alien soldiers left, a huge sense of relief hit us, like the pressure we didn’t even realize we were under had just disappeared.

Phew, thank god they’re finally gone. Every time I see them, it’s like a wave of PTSD hits me, dragging me back to the time when I was tortured on that alien spaceship. It’s hard to shake off those horrifying memories, no matter how much time has passed. The fear, the pain—I remembered it all, as if it had all happened just yesterday.

Then as I looked up at the massive hologram board positioned in the center of this floating island, I saw it display the following:

[The 5th trial, marked as the final and most challenging one, featured the highest difficulty level—Hell mode.]

Hell mode, huh? Looks like this time is going to be an extremely tough one.

ROAAARRR!!!

As soon as the alien soldiers left, in an instant, the Sky Dragon let out a deafening roar, signaling the start of the battle.

"Dammit! I’m not ready yet!"

"Are you fucking kidding me?! We’re supposed to fight a dragon that is the size of a goddamn Godzilla?!"

"Yeah... I don’t know how strong this Sky Dragon boss is, but judging from its appearance alone, it’s obvious we’re at a massive disadvantage."

"Alright, enough yapping, you idiots!!! Focus on the damn Sky Dragon boss now!!!"

[Trial Tips: Do not fall off this floating island or else you’ll be as good as dead.]

Just below Skyrion Island lay a vast sea teeming with formidable gigantic sea monsters. If any of us were to fall off this floating island and land in the sea, it would be virtually impossible for us to survive against the menacing sea creatures.

Everyone could be seen working together to fight against the Sky Dragon final boss monster.

ROAAARRR!!!

As everyone rallied together to face the mighty Sky Dragon, the colossal beast unleashed a torrent of fiery breath, scorching the air around it. We scattered, dodging the flames, fully realizing the gravity of the challenge ahead.

"Dammit! I’ve never faced a boss monster this intense!!!" someone shouted.

"Watch out for its breath attack!!! We need Healers to keep everyone in top shape!!!" another person called out.

The Sky Dragon’s wings created gusts of wind, making movement difficult for everyone. Despite the challenging circumstances, our teamwork began to show promise. We dodged, attacked, and strategically positioned ourselves, slowly chipping away at the dragon’s formidable health bar.

However, the dragon wasn’t going down without a fight. It lashed out with its tail, sending shockwaves through the ground, disrupting our formations. Some were sent flying, while others desperately tried to regain their footing.

In the midst of chaos, someone in the front lines shouted, "We need Tanks up here!!! Draw its attention away from our Ranged attackers!!!"

In an instant, a group of heavily-armored superhumans stepped forward, shielding our allies from the dragon’s wrath. The battle became a symphony of coordinated attacks, healing spells, and strategic maneuvers.

Just as we thought we had the upper hand, the Sky Dragon unleashed another powerful ability – a devastating cyclone of wind that threatened to sweep us off this floating island.

"Hold on to something, guys!!! Don’t get blown away!!!" someone yelled, gripping the edge of the island.

Everyone scrambled to find secure footing, gripping onto trees and rocks to anchor themselves against the fierce winds. The Healers worked overtime, mending injuries caused by the chaotic winds.

As the cyclone subsided, we regrouped, determined to press on. The Sky Dragon, however, seemed to have more tricks up its sleeve. It took to the air, circling the island and raining down bolts of lightning.

RAIN LIGHTNING BOLTS!

Fuck! This is way more intense than I thought! And it’s only getting worse by the second! Goddammit!
