Chapter 34: Found Snacks
Ding!
[You have a new Main Quest available!]
[Main Quest: Defeat the aliens and take control of this colossal spaceship. Warning: If you get kicked out into space, it will result in quest failure, and you won’t receive another Main Quest for quite some time.]
[Reward: Portal Cube (Allows you to teleport to random worlds or planets)]
A-A new Main Quest?! No way! This has got to be a dream, right?!
For the last few years, I hadn’t received any Main or Side Quests, so having a new Main Quest to suddenly appear... it’s simply hard to believe. And on top of that, the reward this time is a "Portal Cube"—something that lets me teleport to a random world or planet.
Hmm, I’m not sure if this is a good thing or not, since the only world I really want to return to is Earth. That’s the place I long for, the only place that ever felt like home. But here I am, looking at this "Portal Cube" with no guarantee it’ll take me back there. However, maybe getting sent to random worlds isn’t too bad either—at least it’s still a change, and it’s definitely better than having nothing at all or being stuck on this colossal spaceship filled with crazy powerful aliens.
Anyway, the new Main Quest’s instructions say I have to defeat the aliens without being thrown out into space, huh? I’m guessing that if I somehow get tossed out of this spaceship, it means I fail or won’t be able to complete the Main Quest. So, in short, I can’t run away—I’ve got to stay here until I defeat all the aliens and conquer this colossal spaceship.
Well, looks like this is going to be tough. The first Main Quest was pretty easy though, but this new Main Quest is a whole new level. I have to eliminate all the aliens and take control of this enormous spaceship, which is going to be insanely challenging.
Suddenly:
GROWL!
Ugh... I’m starving. I feel like I could eat an entire buffet or even a whole blue whale right now.
After giving it some thought, I’ve decided to face the aliens once more. Of course, I’m well aware of the risks, but I figure I should at least try. Welp, all I can do now is pray and hope for the best.
Alright, I’ll take it easy today and give my mind some time to relax, so I’ll be mentally prepared for tomorrow. It’s important to stay sharp, so I’ve put a pause on my usual daily quest exercises for now. I need to conserve my energy, knowing that tomorrow I’ll be battling the aliens, and I can’t afford to be drained before the fight even begins.
The next day...
After having a good solid sleep, I woke up feeling refreshed. Now, it’s time to leave this vast garbage hall and face the aliens. Thankfully, even without the quest arrow marker guiding me, I remember roughly how to get to the cargo station. Well, I hope I remember... but either way, it’ll be fine. There’s no need to rush. I’ll take my time and move carefully.
Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm myself and focus.
"Alright, let’s do this!" I said to myself, feeling motivated.
Once I was mentally ready, I wasted no time and started moving immediately. It didn’t take long before my eyes landed on a mounted wall ladder. Without hesitation, I grabbed hold and began my ascent, scaling the towering walls of the colossal garbage hall.
Each step echoed slightly in the massive hall, the sound bouncing off towering heaps of trash and the high, dirty, filth-covered walls. The air was thick with the scent of dust and rot, making every breath feel heavy as I climbed higher. However, by this point, I’d sort of gotten used to it, so it didn’t affect me as much anymore.
Just like how you can’t smell your own shit because you grew up with it, the same thing happens here. Of course, at first, it hits you hard, but eventually, after being surrounded by it for so long, the filthy smell from these piles of trash becomes barely noticeable anymore, as your nose sorta gets used to it.
...
...
A few hours later...
It took me a while, but I finally managed to find my way and arrive at the exact cargo station where I was killed previously. With my current agility stats, I moved incredibly fast, like an expert assassin. Thankfully, those lesser aliens hadn’t noticed my presence yet. Phew! Thank God I haven’t run into any alien soldiers; otherwise, I’d have been discovered and killed by now.
Once I entered the cargo station, I began searching for the portal. After some time, I finally found it, and to my surprise, the portal is still here after all this time. Not only that, the metal cargo container that they had destroyed to capture me last time had been replaced with a brand-new one as well.
Whoa! Nice! Who would’ve thought they’d replace it with a new one? Heh, seems like everything is going smoother than I expected.
Without wasting another second, I dashed toward the portal at full speed.
WHOOSH! BLINK!
I was so lightning-fast that the nearby lesser aliens could feel a breeze pass through them. Too bad they had no idea it was me. Well, I’m not surprised—given my current agility stats, even I was surprised at how fast I could move.
As soon as I stepped through the portal, I found myself inside the metal cargo container. It was then... Holy shit! What I saw in front of me was mind-blowing!
Whoa! What the hell is this?! It’s packed with snacks here! Damn, just looking at it already makes me drool and feel extremely hungry!
I was planning on killing some aliens today, but I changed my mind. Now, I’m going to spend the whole day eating until I’m stuffed!
Alright, let’s not delay any longer—time to dig in! I need to satisfy this goddamn hunger once and for all! Man, I can’t believe I finally get to eat after a few years of starving! Bahaha! What a lucky day!
