Chapter 35: Big Trouble
MUNCH! MUNCH! MUNCH! NOM! NOM! NOM!
"Mmm! Delicious! Yum!"
This is absolutely amazing! Ah, I can’t get enough of this—every bite is just bursting with flavor, and I swear, I could literally eat this all day without getting tired of it!
Welp, I guess when you’re starving, everything just seems to taste delicious. It’s like the hunger makes every bite taste a hundred times better, and that’s exactly how I’m feeling right now.
...
...
I had no idea how much time had passed, but I eventually finished eating and felt completely full and satisfied. "Ugh, I’m so full!" I said to myself, lying on my back, thinking about how satisfying the meal had been. It was one of those meals that just hits the spot.
I glanced around at the aftermath, realizing I’d devoured enough snacks to feed at least fifty people—easily. The thought made me pause. Now that I think about it, that’s just crazy... It really feels like I’m not a normal human anymore. The stronger I get, the more I can feel my body changing—like my appetite keeps growing right along with me. Seems like every bit of strength I gain just means I need way more food to keep going.
Anyway, now that my hunger is finally taken care of, I can get back to the important task—killing some aliens. But the big question still hangs over me: is hiding in this cargo container even safe? I mean, the last time I tried this, they somehow managed to find me here. I still don’t know how they knew I was hiding here, but I’m definitely not about to make the same mistake again. My instincts are telling me that staying here too long is a bad idea.
Wait a minute... now that I think about it—could they have CCTV cameras or something set up in this cargo station? It wouldn’t be that surprising if they did; perhaps that could be how they discovered me last time? Well, I’m not sure if that was really the case, but it’s definitely something to consider.
Out of curiosity and a growing sense of unease, I stepped outside for a moment. I started moving around the perimeter of this cargo station, trying to be as sneaky as possible, hoping I could spot any hidden cameras. I circled the area, keeping my movements slow and careful. It wasn’t long before I looked up and saw them—hidden in the high ceiling corners, those orb-like cameras, quietly observing everything below. That’s when I knew—I had screwed up big time. Oh fuck!
My heart started racing, and panic kicked in. Without a second thought, I quickly turned and sprinted back to the portal, my legs moving faster than ever.
WHOOSH! SPRINT!
Phew! Luckily, I’m fast as hell, so the lesser aliens didn’t catch a glimpse of me. If it had been those alien soldiers, they would’ve sensed my presence by now.
As I caught my breath, I started thinking more seriously about the situation. Hiding here long-term isn’t going to work. Not with cameras watching every move I make. They’ve probably figured out where I am by now, but I can’t understand why they haven’t come for me yet. Maybe the aliens in the CCTV room are just slacking off? Or maybe they’re still waiting for the right moment? Who knows. Either way, it’s only a matter of time before they show up, so I can’t afford to wait around here and find out.
In any case, after weighing my options for a moment, I decided that heading back to the colossal garbage hall was my best bet. It wasn’t what I wanted, but I had no choice—it wasn’t safe to remain here any longer. The tension in the air, the threat of those cameras catching me at any moment—there was no way I could stay in this location. I needed to move, and I needed to do it fast!
Once I made up my mind, I didn’t waste any time. Without hesitation, I stepped through the portal and found myself outside once again. The cool air hit me like a wave, but there was no time to appreciate the moment. I took off immediately, sprinting as fast as I could in the direction where the garbage hall was located.
SPRINT!
My feet barely made a sound as I moved, every step calculated to avoid detection. My mind raced, but all I could focus on now was getting to the vast garbage hall without getting spotted. It was the only place that felt remotely safe at this point.
To be honest, I’m still uncertain about those orb-shaped cameras. I can’t even say for sure if they’re actually cameras or if they’re something else entirely. But even with that doubt, I’m not willing to take any risks. It’s just not worth it. I’d rather be cautious now than regret it later. After all, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
Just when I thought everything was going smoothly, the situation took a sudden turn. Out of nowhere, a group of alien soldiers appeared, their muscular figures emerging from the shadows, and ambushed me, blocking my path completely. Both the front and back were sealed off, leaving me no room to maneuver. It felt like the ground itself had betrayed me as they surrounded me on all sides; their presence was suffocating.
"Hahaha! Surprise motherfucker!" the alien soldiers taunted, their voice dripping with mocking amusement. The others joined in with harsh laughter, circling me like predators preparing to strike their prey.
That’s right, I’m their prey now. Fuck! I can’t believe this. Those orb-looking cameras were actually cameras after all. I should’ve known.
It’s all starting to make sense now—the way they positioned themselves, the way everything felt off. It all adds up. They’ve been watching me this entire time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Now it’s clear. They’ve had their eyes on me from the start, and I’ve been walking straight into it!
Goddammit!
