Chapter 104: Beastmaster Guy, Kira

It was unknown which world John had disappeared to; even he himself had no idea. But one thing was certain: he had lost 50% of his total power as the price for using a forbidden dark magic skill. In short, not only had his power been cut in half, but his level had also been reduced by half due to the side effects of using it.

You might wonder why John didn’t use it from the start, or why he waited until now? The reason was simple: he knew this forbidden spell came with a massive price to pay, and that’s why he was reluctant to use it unless it was absolutely necessary or in an emergency. In this case, though, he was very close to dying, so he had no choice but to cast it.

However, regardless of the outcome or the negative side effects, John didn’t care—he was just glad to be alive. As long as he remained alive, he believed that with enough time, he could always grow stronger again in the future.

After a short while, John managed to get back up on his feet. As he scanned his surroundings, the scene before him felt completely unfamiliar—a vast forest stretching endlessly, with towering trees that seemed to have stood for centuries, or perhaps even eons. If there was one way to describe this breathtakingly lush forest, it would be a very ancient or prehistoric vibe.

At this moment, John had no clue where he was—not even the name of this world or what planet he was on. It was a mystery. But he wasn’t too worried about the details. Sooner or later, he’d explore this place and figure things out. In short, there was no rush. He would eventually learn everything as time passes.

...

Meanwhile, back on the colossal alien spaceship, Nebulon had finally calmed down. With that, he ordered the alien soldiers to bring him another superhuman. "Hurry up! Bring me another one! I don’t care who, just make sure he or she is strong enough, at least SSS-Rank!"

"Yes, right away, Your Majesty!" Immediately, several alien soldiers hurried off to carry out the order. They dared not delay any longer, for fear of testing their Majesty’s patience.

Not long after, the alien soldiers returned, escorting a young man named "Kira." As they entered the dining hall, Nebulon, who had been waiting for what felt like an eternity, couldn’t hide his impatience any longer. His eyes narrowed as Kira stepped in, clearly not pleased with the delay.

Now you might be wondering, who’s Kira? Well, he’s the Beastmaster who made Gaseo’s life hell a long time ago, back on that floating island during the final trial.

Not even a minute passed after Kira stepped into the dining hall, Nebulon wasted no time. He grabbed Kira’s neck and immediately started choking him. After what happened with John, Nebulon had learned his lesson—he wasn’t going to take any chances with the next superhuman. Who knew if Kira would try to use the same trick that John did to escape?

Grabbing Kira by the throat, Nebulon lifted him off the ground. To make matters even worse, Kira was completely surrounded by alien soldiers as well, leaving no room to move or even escape.

Kira was shocked and couldn’t help but ask, "W-What’s the meaning of this?! What the fuck did I do?!"

At this very moment, Kira tried to use his mind-control ability, but it failed miserably. It didn’t work on someone as powerful as Nebulon. His mind-control skill could only affect those weaker than him, not those who were many times stronger. Hell, even the alien soldiers were beyond his reach and couldn’t be manipulated—protected by barrier shields that nullified his mind-control skill.

Unlike John, who knew quite a bit about Nebulon’s sinister plan, Kira had only heard rumors about it. While he suspected something, Kira was the type who wouldn’t believe anything so easily unless it was proven. If there was no proof, he wouldn’t buy into it. As a result, Kira hadn’t come here prepared.

’Fuck! So it was true after all that Nebulon has been absorbing countless superhumans for his own gain! Goddammit! I thought it was just a rumor. Had I known this would happen, I would have come here prepared!’ Kira thought, panicking and desperately trying to figure out how to escape this dire situation.

Nebulon could tell Kira was trying to think of a way to escape, but it was a little too late now. Nebulon had prepared for every possible way to ensure Kira had no chance of escaping or pulling any tricks. At this point, it was clear—it was over for Kira, and all he could do now was hopelessly accept his fate.

"Noooooooooooooo!!! Please, don’t kill me!!! I’ll do anything you ask, so please let me go!!! I beg you, please spare me and give me a chance!!!" Kira, despite being choked, used every ounce of his power and strength to scream out and beg Nebulon to spare him.

Kira was desperate, but nothing could change Nebulon’s mind at this point. Without bothering to respond, Nebulon proceeded with what he had to do, his focus unwavering on his ultimate goal—growing stronger and achieving his dream of ascending to become a Demigod.

"Aaaaaaaaaaagghhh!!! Nooooooooooooooooo—!!!" Kira screamed in agony, his body writhing as he struggled with all his might to break free from Nebulon’s grip, each desperate movement only making the pressure around his throat worse. His heart pounded in his chest, but no matter how hard he fought, escape seemed impossible.

A minute later...

Just like that, Kira met his end, his body consumed and absorbed by Nebulon. In an instant, Nebulon felt a massive surge of power. But sadly, it still wasn’t enough to reach the next level.

Nebulon knew he’d need to absorb at least fifty more times, or maybe even more, before he’d be anywhere close to reaching his goal of becoming a Demigod. For now, though, he was pleased and satisfied with the progress and didn’t mind waiting a little longer before achieving his ultimate goal.
