Chapter 102: Final Boss Monster
Chapter 102: Final Boss Monster
"Alright, Mr. Green Slime King! You’ve had your fun attacking me all this time, but now, it’s my turn!" I said, my voice dripping with confidence.
The Green Slime King gave a mocking chuckle. "Haha! Sure, adventurer! Then let’s see what you’ve got!"
PUNCH!
"Alright, take this!!!" I didn’t waste a second. I threw a punch, not expecting anything special, but the moment my fist made contact, the Green Slime King instantly exploded into countless puddles of slime.
BOOOMMM!!!
Huh?! W-What the hell?! I stood there for a moment, frozen, staring at the green goo splattered across the floor. It couldn’t have been that easy, right? One punch and it’s already over?
Ding!
[You have slain the boss monster Green Slime King!]
[1st Floor Quest Completed!]
I glanced at my fist, then back at the mess. "Seriously? That’s it?" Damn... holy shit... Haha. Well... I guess I’m stronger than I thought.
I must’ve truly underestimated myself. I knew I was strong, but I didn’t expect to take down the Green Slime King with just one hit. I thought this would be a decent fight, but it ended up being over so quickly.
I wonder if I’ve gotten too strong or if the Slime King was just that weak. Well, whatever the reason is, I’m still going to stay cautious with the other boss monsters on the upper floors.
Maybe the 1st floor was just a warm-up, but the 2nd floor might be where the real challenge starts. I mean, if things were this easy so far, it’s hard to believe the next floor will be the same.
Heck, I’m still not entirely sure what this Tower of Self is even about—maybe I’m being tested, or maybe there’s something more to it that I haven’t figured out yet. Who knows? Either way, I can’t afford to get distracted, so let’s just keep moving for now.
After defeating the Green Slime King boss monster, a portal immediately spawned right above its lifeless body. Looking at it, I figured this portal was most likely the gateway leading to the 2nd floor. Well, even though it’s called the Tower of Self, it isn’t actually an actual tower at all. Instead, each floor has its own independent mini-world or small world.
BLINK!
As soon as I stepped through the portal, I was transported to another world once again. This time, it was a scorching desert. The heat hit me immediately, with the powerful sunlight burning my skin slightly. Though there was nothing to worry about, this kind of heat wasn’t enough to kill someone like me anyway.
Ding!
[2nd Floor Quest: Raid the Desert Castle and kill the Ancient Scorpion King!]
[Monster Types: Ancient Scorpions and Ancient Scorpion King.]
Ancient Scorpions and an Ancient Scorpion King this time, huh? Interesting. Also, this is my first time in a desert environment, which is pretty cool—something I’ve never experienced before.
Without wasting any time, I started exploring around this massive Desert Castle, made of stone, marble, and other materials that I couldn’t even name. I mean, I’m no builder, so my knowledge is pretty much limited. My understanding of construction pretty much ends with Minecraft-style builds—the simplest thing I can do. Beyond that, I’m clueless.
Not even a few minutes had passed when, out of nowhere, a group of about 10 Ancient Scorpions suddenly erupted from the ground around me. They were massive, their bodies dwarfing anything I’d ever seen—each one nearly the size of a bus, if not even larger. Their sharp pincers clicked menacingly as they crawled toward me, their armored exoskeletons glinting in the harsh desert sun.
HISSSS!!!
"Perfect! Finally, some action!" I couldn’t help but feel excited. Finally, a fight worth looking forward to!
...
...
A minute later...
Ding!
[You have slain an Ancient Scorpion!]
[You have slain an Ancient Scorpion!]
[You have slain a total of 10 Ancient Scorpions!]
"Aaaaahhh!!! What the hell is this?! This isn’t even a challenge at all! They all went down with just one hit?!" I was seriously disappointed. Once again, I was just too strong. Defeating SSS-Rank monsters like it was no big deal at all.
...
...
A few hours later...
[You have slain an Ancient Scorpion!]
[You have slain an Ancient Scorpion!]
[You have slain an Ancient Scorpion!]
...
...
[You have slain a total of 15,000 Ancient Scorpions!]
[You have slain the boss monster, Ancient Scorpion King!]
Ding!
[2nd Floor Quest Completed!]
Fuck! These guys are all so weak.... Even the Ancient Scorpion King died in just one punch...
After defeating the Ancient Scorpion King boss monster, a portal spawned right above its lifeless body, leading to the 3rd floor. Welp, whatever. Let’s just continue and see if the 3rd floor will actually be a real challenge this time.
...
...
A few hours later...
Ding!
[You have slain the boss monster, Prehistoric Rabbit King!]
[3rd Floor Quest Completed!]
No way... even the monsters on this floor went down in just one hit... Damn, I thought this 50-foot Prehistoric Rabbit King would pose some challenge, but a single flick was all it took to take it down. Shit, I thought I’d reduced my power a bit by switching from punches and kicks to flicks, but still, one hit was all it took to eliminate them all.
Another few hours passed...
Ding!
[You have slain the boss monster, Lich King!]
[4th Floor Quest Completed!]
Currently, I’m sitting on top of a pile of skeleton warriors, next to the Lich King. Once again, the result was still the same—a single hit was all it took to defeat them all. However, this time I wasn’t disappointed because there was still one more boss monster to face. And this one wasn’t just any boss monster; it was the final boss, the strongest of them all.
The thought of facing the final boss monster excites me. I have a feeling this time is going to be a real challenge. I mean, the title "Final Boss Monster" sounds pretty intimidating, so it’s gotta be way stronger than these regular bosses I’ve fought so far.
"Alright, let’s go!" I said, stepping into the portal.
BLINK!
Not even a few seconds had passed when I saw someone who looked exactly like me sitting on the throne, smiling at me with a sinister grin.
"Y-You!!! Who the hell are you?!! Why do you look like me?!!" I said, totally shocked.
