Chapter 100: Superhumans’ Duty

"Alright, excellent job everyone! You all have done well in staying alive until now!" Nebulon announced, addressing the superhumans assembled in the grand throne room. His booming voice filled the throne room, carrying both praise and urgency. "However, this isn’t over yet! You still need to grow stronger than you are now! Being S-Rank or even SS-Rank isn’t enough! Everyone must reach at least SSS-Rank or higher! Only then will you earn the right to return to your worlds! Do you understand?!"

"Yes, Your Majesty!!!" all the superhumans responded in unison.

"Very well, that’s all I have to say. Good luck on your next mission, and come back stronger!" Nebulon’s voice held a commanding edge, his eyes locking onto them with unwavering intensity. "With that said, you’re all dismissed!"

"Yes, sir!!!" Everyone responded in unison before rising respectfully and slowly making their way out of the throne room.

...

...

Within this colossal alien spaceship, in one of the vast portal rooms, also known as the dungeon room, was a space brimming with countless dungeon portals or gates. Each portal acted as a doorway to a different world, some filled with dangers, others with untold rewards.

This portal room served a crucial purpose for the superhumans: it allowed the superhumans to step into these fantasy worlds, face powerful monsters, and battle their way through countless challenges. With each victory, they leveled up, growing stronger and more skilled, until they were ready to be harvested by Nebulon.

Of course, none of the superhumans knew they were nothing more than livestock for Nebulon, as everything was kept top secret.

Naturally, this enormous portal room had been specifically designed for the chosen superhumans, individuals selected for their extraordinary abilities and strength. These powerful superhumans found themselves facing relentless challenges, required to battle fierce monsters almost every week without rest.

Furthermore, it wasn’t just the usual low-tier creatures that posed a threat; these superhumans often found themselves battling high-ranking monsters—some as formidable as SS-Rank, and others terrifyingly powerful, reaching the feared SSS-Rank. Each battle was a test of their skill, endurance and willpower, and pushing them to their limits time and time again.

Sadly, these superhumans had no choice but to endure, for Nebulan demanded rapid growth. Any superhuman deemed weak or useless would either spend the rest of their life as a prisoner, working aboard the spaceship, or face torture and death.

Additionally, besides getting stronger, these powerful superhumans were also assigned to collect monster cores or magic stones. Any superhuman who collected the most monster cores would be greatly rewarded, such as being allowed to take longer breaks or days off without having to work.

In short, the monster cores were one way for the superhumans to prove they weren’t slacking off and were actually actively contributing.

"Alright, hurry up and get moving!!!" one of the alien soldiers yelled, his voice cutting through the chaos as he shoved the superhumans aggressively toward the dungeon portals. His eyes burned with urgency. "Don’t just stand there! Get in faster! Remember, collect as many monster cores as you can, and whatever you do, don’t die! We need those cores to power and fuel our spaceship! If we don’t have them, you’ll all be punished, so move fast!"

Of course, none of the superhumans dared to protest or rebel.

The weight of the alien soldiers’ commands hung over them, silencing any thoughts of defiance. Without a word, they quietly formed a straight line, each one moving with robotic precision. One by one, they stepped forward and entered the specific portals they were assigned to, their faces blank, resigned to their fate as the alien soldiers watched closely, ensuring no one slacked off or stayed behind.

Naturally, on the surface, these superhumans seemed to obey without question, their outward demeanor calm and composed. But beneath that facade, their hearts were filled with extreme hatred. Every day, they suppressed their anger, biding their time, patiently waiting for the right time to arrive when they could finally spark a rebellion and carry out their revenge.

Everyday, the same thought kept running through their minds, over and over again, as if it was stuck on repeat: ’Tch! Damn these aliens! You may have us under control for now, but one day, you will definitely pay for everything you’ve done to us! We’ll make sure of it!’

This was the only way for the superhumans to let out their pent-up anger—by silently cursing those goddamn alien soldiers in their hearts. It might not completely cure their rage, but at least it helped ease some of the tension, even if just a little bit.

Just like that, all the superhumans were sent to planets swarming with all kinds of powerful monsters. One moment they’d be fighting dinosaurs; the next, fantasy monsters and beasts; and other times even mythical creatures—the cycle of nonstop battles seemed endless.

Of course, none of the superhumans could escape, as the alien soldiers were always watching them, no matter what planet they were on.

Now, you might be wondering how Gaseo managed to escape undetected. Well, after the final trial was over, the aliens had no further use for those floating islands. As a result, they completely abandoned the solar system Gaseo was in, giving him the opportunity to slip away unnoticed.

...

...

"Aaarrghhh!!! This never seems to end!!! Damn these fucking monsters!!!" one of the superhumans shouted in frustration and anger, completely worn out from fighting week after week with no break or rest. He longed for freedom, but, sadly, it was impossible under the constant watch of those damn alien soldiers.

ROAAARRR!!!

...

...

Meanwhile, "John Crimson," the vampire who had tortured and inflicted unimaginable suffering on Gaseo, didn’t leave the colossal spaceship today to join the others in their usual battles against the monsters. Why? Well, today was different. Today marked the completion of Nebulon’s cooldown timer, which meant that his Life Drain skill was finally ready to be used once again.

For the first time in what felt like ages, Nebulon was finally ready to harvest his prey. With everything lining up perfectly, he’d planned to use this moment to absorb John’s life force. After all, Nebulon knew just how powerful John was, which made today all the more special for him.

"Kekeke!" Nebulon laughed, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "Ah, John Crimson! I can’t wait to absorb you!" He chuckled again, clearly enjoying the thought of what was about to come. He’d been waiting patiently for a month, and now, the time had finally arrived. The excitement was almost unbearable.
