Chapter 480: Chapter 673: Who Performs the Ribbon Dance in the Sky

The explosion roared thunderously, and the Armored Beast’s running speed was astonishingly fast. Unfortunately, the Worker Bee’s shells failed to lure it elsewhere.

With the speed of the Armored Beast, it would take at most three minutes to reach the tower, and then, barring any surprise, the Armored Beast would charge directly into the tower.

"I’ll handle the Armored Beast. You all prepare to evacuate. If I have a chance to take the launcher with me, I will; if not, I’ll blow it up,"

Gao Yuan said calmly. Then, he turned to Gao Yang, "You guys really can’t help. Using light weapons against a monster is basically suicide, and we don’t have any heavy weapons."

Gao Yang hesitated briefly before replying with firm resolve, "What circumstances call for an evacuation?"

"If the other monsters aren’t lured over here. With many monsters around, having buildings for cover is better than none."

"Understood!"

Gao Yang patted Gao Yuan on the arm solemnly, "We lack experience fighting monsters. Let’s watch how you do it first."

Gao Yuan paused for a moment, then said in a deep voice, "If we truly get surrounded, a complete loss isn’t out of the question. If we’re in grave danger, I’ll take her and leave."

Gao Yuan gestured at Xinghe, indicating that he would escape alone with her if things went south.

Gao Yang, however, smiled, "Good, you understand the bigger picture; that puts my mind at ease. You know, my biggest fear was you being all maternal, shouting about dying together with us or something."

Gao Yuan smiled, then shifted his gaze to the onrushing Armored Beast, calculating its speed and direction, while also looking far behind it.

"The monsters are starting to disperse, but their main direction isn’t here; it’s the urban area."

Now was a grand blame game between the two sides. Satan bombarded the Sanitation Worker’s area, hoping the explosions would draw the monsters into the urban zone, while the Sanitation Workers fired a couple of shots towards the tower, not expecting Satan to block all the monsters, but it was an outlet for their frustration.

The two sides had different goals, leading to a disparity in the intensity of their actions. Satan was almost unrestrained, firing the remaining shells one after another, while the Sanitation Workers stopped after firing two shots at the tower. They needed to save ammunition to fight the monsters.

The shape of the Armored Beast was clearly visible now.

Watching the colors reflected off the Armored Beast’s shell in the sunlight, Gao Yang let out a long sigh and whispered, "Such dazzling colors give off an eerie feeling."

Packing away his shotgun, Gao Yang raised his rifle, aiming at the charging Armored Beast.

"I believe, I firmly believe, no creature can stop my bullets, absolutely none! That’s my confidence, and to preserve my confidence as a marksman, I suppose I should still take the shot."

Gao Yang spoke out of the blue, but Gao Yuan understood.

God of Guns, Ram, his divinity embodied in an unmatched skill with firearms.

Gao Yang had unshakable confidence in his marksmanship; he was utterly convinced that every bullet fired would hit its mark, so Ram’s status as the God of Guns was largely attributed to his confidence.

Every good gunman, any marksman, carries such confidence.

Gao Yang couldn’t let his conviction be shrouded in doubt. He could not afford to lose one belief: with a gun in hand, he is invincible.

Gao Yuan was not a sniper, but he truly understood Gao Yang. So, after hearing Gao Yang’s soliloquy, he said gravely, "If I can’t hold it off, you can fire."

After speaking, Gao Yuan leaped onto the open window in front of him and crouched on the window frame.

The Armored Beast had reached the base of the tower and was decelerating when Gao Yuan suddenly shouted.

"Hey!"

The Armored Beast stopped in its tracks and looked up.

Standing five meters tall, when the Armored Beast stopped and raised its head to look at the top floor of the tower with its small, somewhat comical eyes, everyone felt a deep-rooted fear.

Its shell dazzling with flowing colors, slender limbs, and tall stature, the people in the tower felt none of the advantage of height but rather as if they were being looked down upon by the Armored Beast.

At that moment, Gao Yuan, brandishing his long blade, jumped down.

As he fell, the morning sun shone on the gleaming blade, reflecting a blinding light.

The light flicked across the face of Gao Yang, who was holding a gun, causing his open left eye to squint slightly.

The twenty-meter height had no effect on him, but the Armored Beast was watching Gao Yuan, so as soon as Gao Yuan jumped out from the window, the beast suddenly moved.

Although it was more than ten meters from the tower, as Gao Yuan descended vertically, the Armored Beast took two steps forward and swung one of its forelimbs.

Gao Yuan landed on the ground, and the Armored Beast’s forelimb passed overhead. Crouching on bent knees, Gao Yuan sprang up, launching himself toward the Armored Beast. Before it could retract and plant its swung limb back on the ground, he had already charged to the front of the beast.

The Armored Beast’s forelimb drew an arc in the air and then hit the ground.

As the Armored Beast was about to swing its forelimb again, aiming to cleave the prey before it in two, Gao Yuan once more leapt up.

Springing into the air, Gao Yuan intended to jump over the Armored Beast’s head and land on its back, but in the instant he leaped, the Armored Beast tilted its head and opened its massive mouth, biting towards Gao Yuan’s midsection.

With a reflexive motion, Gao Yuan thrust his blade out.

The shell of the Armored Beast was impressively hard, impenetrable by bullets, but its eyes were definitely not as tough.

Gao Yuan only saw the eyes of the Armored Beast, and his height was just right, while his reflexes were fast enough to allow him to make any desired movement in a split second.

The long blade pierced straight into the eye of the Armored Beast, entering the left eye without exiting the right, but Gao Yuan’s long blade stabbed deeply into the beast’s brain until it hit the Armored Beast’s hard shell.

Most of the blade was embedded in the head of the Armored Beast; then it, having just closed its mouth, opened it again and shook its head in pain before emitting a silent roar.

Gao Yuan’s ears throbbed in an instant, and then he was flung away by the powerful toss of the Armored Beast.

No matter the effect of the stab, the landing pose had to be cool.

Gao Yuan somersaulted in midair, then landed on both feet with bent knees, placing his left hand on the ground, kneeling on his right knee, and raising the long sword in his right hand towards the sky at an angle.

A standard superhero landing maneuver, perfect.

The Armored Beast shook its head, but its limbs were limp and powerless until its enormous body thunderously fell to the ground and then moved no more.

A blade plunged into the brain, a lethal strike, perfect.
