The Ultimate War Of The Apocalypse
Chapter 339 - 332: Immediate Worries

Chapter 339: Chapter 332: Immediate Worries

Gao Yuan learned a trick, which was to first drape oneself with a lofty-sounding reason, standing on an untouchable moral high ground, and then, from a position of superiority, cast a question to make the opponent feel ashamed of themselves.

Indeed, faced with Renato’s officer was at a loss.

When a stranger came up to ask if one wanted to join them in what could be a suicide mission, any person of normal intelligence would hardly agree.

But how should one refuse, or even kill them?

Moving to take action seemed unlikely to bring a winning outcome too.

"We..."

After a moment of deep thought, the officer finally continued, "Are you really special forces from the Blue Star Alliance?"

"Oh, of course."

Renato, with the air of one who has nothing to hide, took out a thick stack of documents directly from his briefcase, much thicker than the ones Gao Yuan and his team carried.

"Please look, and just to clarify, I am a soldier from Italy, but also an official liaison sent by the Blue Star Alliance."

Renato handed the entire thick stack of documents to the officer’s hands, then he looked at Gao Yuan and said in Chinese, "Please take out your documents and show them to this gentleman too."

Li Yang presented the documents he carried, and then Renato continued, "It’s easy to prove our identities. Is there anything else to be done right now? You, I, and them, everyone, we either struggle to survive under the threat of the Aliens or make our last efforts to try and drive the Aliens away..."

Renato sighed softly, and said in a low voice, "But you know, all this is impossible. What’s funny is that the Americans thought about fighting you before the Aliens came, but now, the Americans are almost starving to death."

"Yes, those damn Americans!"

Talking about the Americans, the lieutenant showed some annoyance. He returned the documents he had barely glanced at back to Renato and with a hostile face said, "Are there many Americans in your team?"

"Oh, yes, mainly Americans, as well as Shenzhou People. Since they’re superpowers, they naturally have to play a major role in the battle against the Aliens. In fact... hey!"

Renato let out a heavy sigh, then he said softly, "I’ve been from America to Europe, and from Europe, with difficulty, to Shenzhou," but they have no power left because the main targets of the Aliens are these two countries, so the number of the allied forces we can assemble is very limited, to the point that... America is done for, their homeland is completely ruined. Shenzhou is in a slightly better state, but they cannot send more soldiers to form a joint force."

After speaking casually, Renato said to the lieutenant before him, "What about Persia? How is Persia doing now?"

The lieutenant appeared hesitant. Renato spread his hands and said, "Buddy, think about it, what is there left for humans to hide from each other? I’m planning to go to Heitland, to seek more support from Persia, but if the situation in Heitland is also bad, then there’s no need for me to make a detour there."

"Well, our situation is very bad."

The lieutenant seemed sincere as he spoke softly, "We’ve been abandoned. We received orders that all military personnel should report and gather in Heitland, but we can’t get there, we simply can’t travel that far."

"Oh, is that right? All military personnel are to assemble in Heitland?"

Renato appeared excited, nodding repeatedly, "Then I really should make a trip."

The lieutenant hesitated for a while, then he spoke again in a low voice, "I think it’s unnecessary, because from what I’ve heard in the broadcasts, Heitland is now very chaotic, there’s a shortage of food, unfair distribution, leading to some bad things. Our country has completely lost order, and there have even been fierce battles in Heitland."

"What? There’s fighting now? Good God, this is terrible."

Renato seemed irked, shaking his head repeatedly, "This is really bad, really, humans shouldn’t be killing each other anymore."

"It’s all for survival..."

The lieutenant exhaled, looking at Li Yang and saying, "You are with the Americans?"

Li Yang replied softly in Persian, "We have no choice. The Americans are arrogant and foolish, but their people in Afghan can still be mobilized, so we can only join forces."

"Better off not dealing with them at all."

The lieutenant didn’t even look at Li Yang’s documents, and with an air of resignation, said, "We’re all going to die anyway, why bother going that far."

Renato said, "That’s not how you put it, someone has to try. Lieutenant, may I sincerely ask you one more time, do you wish to join us?"

The lieutenant looked somewhat displeased, so Renato exhaled and said resignedly, "Has Heitland truly fallen into war? Has your country really plunged into chaos?"

"Yes, I’m sure you’ll find out soon enough."

Renato thought for a moment, then extended his hand to shake that of the lieutenant, speaking softly, "It was nice to meet you. On this journey, we’ve scarcely seen a few living souls. Brother, strive to survive, I wish you good luck."

The lieutenant had nothing to say.

As they were leaving, Renato portrayed a sad and resigned demeanor, repeatedly looking back and waving at the lieutenant until he boarded the armored vehicle.

Once aboard, Renato’s sadness disappeared instantly, and he smiled, "First of all, this country has indeed plunged into chaos, so there won’t be any large-scale troops coming to intercept us. Next, we might have to go hungry."
