The Tycoon’s Enchanted Mermaid
Chapter 197: Enjoy the Moment

Chapter 197: Chapter 197: Enjoy the Moment

Ah Da had her eyes tightly shut, trying to empty her mind, but those words desperately surfaced in her thoughts, impossible to avoid. Why did it have to be this sort of thing?

Finally unable to pretend nothing had happened, Ah Da sat up, clutching a pillow for some sense of security, and mustered the courage to open the browser, entering key terms to search.

Pages and pages of text defined one main method of reproducing, about hormones secreted within the body that induce desire and passion in animals, specifying a particular cycle of one year, and that animals can’t control themselves, while humans are different because they possess strong self-awareness and control abilities...

Ah Da’s cheeks nearly ignited as she read, with the browser even displaying real animal images, blatantly laid out in front of her.

What the heck?

Was she an animal now?

Ah Da’s phone fell onto the blanket, and she covered her face, wailing as she curled up into the bedding, wrapping herself up like a long worm and continuously rolling on the bed. She wanted to run, she didn’t want to see Qin Yu.

Half an hour passed, and she hadn’t fallen asleep but just lay in bed with her eyes open, her face turning red, then white, her inner turmoil anything but calm.

She had finished reading all the internet information related to animals in heat, and now she had a rough understanding—almost spot on. Qin Yu hadn’t tricked her; her bodily condition was exactly as the internet had described.

Furthermore, this thing, as the internet said, was hard to endure; it required finding a partner of the opposite sex to...

Following the trail, Ah Da continued to search, and the content that came up shattered her worldview and beliefs, leaving her completely speechless and overwhelmingly embarrassed.

"..."

Ah Da wanted to toss her phone away like a hot potato, hiding back under the covers and curling up into a ball, her head about to explode.

Thinking back to these recent times, whether hiding in the water or clinging to Qin Yu for relief, it was all due to a burning sensation in her body, what the internet called "evil fire," akin to traditional medicine, enduring it forcibly was harmful to the body, and the suggestion was to let it run its natural course, balancing yin and yang.

Did she really need Qin Yu’s help to find release?

Qin Yu... he... Ah Da bit her finger, her body turning as red as a cooked shrimp.

Outside, the waves of the sea were gentle, and the sun was blazing.

Suddenly, a phone ring echoed in the fancy bedroom, the casing vibrating non-stop. A soft, fair hand reached out from under the pristine white covers and pulled back the phone.

The red light on the screen illuminated Ah Da’s face; she bit her lip, realizing the video call was from Su Qingtong.

She suddenly flung off the covers, sitting up and immediately slid the answer button, starting with a sob, "Bronze Sword─"

"What happened here?" Su Qingtong caught sight of Ah Da’s bird’s nest-like head through the screen and couldn’t help but laugh out loud, "Hahaha, is this your new hairstyle?"

Ah Da turned her head, brushing her hair a couple of times but not caring much, just hugging her pillow and bitterly saying, "I’m really going to die, Bronze Sword, I really don’t know what to do."

Su Qingtong put away her joking expression, tilting her head and looking at her skeptically, "Could it be that you already know?"

Ah Da’s heart skipped a beat, clutching the phone a bit farther away, her mouth agape, unable to speak.

Su Qingtong smiled mysteriously and paused after each word as she spoke three words, "Yao Qingzhi told me that this is because part of your soul has been restored, which has resulted in the return of some of the Merfolk’s abilities; she also said that this is a good thing for you."

Ah Da was thunderstruck, her face so puckered she was on the brink of tears, "What good thing? I think it’s clearly a massive disaster; you have no idea how miserable I’ve been lately."

It was utterly a form of physical and psychological torture.

"What’s there to be miserable about, aren’t you on vacation with Qin Yu? The perfect opportunity right there, why not use it?"

Ah Da was speechlessly choked up.

Su Qingtong grabbed a lipstick and applied it to her lips, saying, "Don’t tell me you haven’t had the chance to eat; Qin Yu is so tall and probably has a nice physique. In my opinion, you’re not at a loss. Besides, there’s no need to endure the suffering; enjoy the moment."

Ah Da, bombarded by consecutive blows, began to numb and collapsed weakly onto the bed without a word.

Su Qingtong continued, "I called you to tell you that according to Yao Qingzhi, your condition is normal, and there’s no threat to your life. But even she isn’t sure how long the Merfolk’s cycle is—it could be a month, or half a year, or even three or ten years."

This made Ah Da unable to stay calm; she sat up quickly, her eyes wide like copper bells, her face turning pale with fear, "Three to ten years? How can it be so long? Isn’t it usually just a couple of weeks or at most a couple of months online?"

Su Qingtong twisted open the lipstick cap, smiling as she spoke, "It’s mainly because there are no records about Merfolk; it’s just a guess. Don’t panic."

Ah Da bit the back of her hand, how could she not panic? The episodes came out of the blue, each time making her do things beyond her control. It felt as though there was a time bomb inside her that would go off now and then; enduring this for years might drive her insane.

"Bronze Sword, is there really no other way to resolve this?" Ah Da asked with a droopy face.

Su Qingtong, having finished applying her lipstick, pondered and said, "No. But you said before that soaking in water somewhat eases it? Logically, cold water should cool things down, but that’s only a temporary solution. If you keep forcing yourself, I worry it might negatively impact your body and cultivation. I would recommend using Qin Yu; it’s convenient and quick. Don’t be shy, just enjoy it."

Ah Da was totally speechless—use Qin Yu? How could she enjoy that? Qin Yu wasn’t some tool; Bronze Sword was spouting nonsense without considering reality.

Su Qingtong, noting her reddening face and flustered look, clicked her tongue lightly, "Don’t you think it’s quite intriguing that Qin Yu chose this time to take you on a vacation? Yao Qingzhi must have informed him about the situation; I don’t believe he didn’t hint at anything. Think about it."

Men, in certain respects, are as sly as any—their desires overpower even the most devout vows when they meet someone they like.

With Qingtong Jianyi’s hint, Ah Da recalled the recent conversation where Qin Yu had interrupted to ask if she wanted his help, though she wasn’t sure whether that counted as a hint...

Seeing her lower her head, Su Qingtong’s lips curved into a knowing smirk, "Little incense burner, relax and open your mind. Since you can’t resist or escape, why not turn the tables and take the initiative?"

Ah Da lifted her head, "What... take the initiative?"

"Meaning to strike first," Su Qingtong winked.

"Ah?" Ah Da didn’t quite understand.

Su Qingtong sighed, "Never mind, I’ll send you my collection of antique albums later; you can study them yourself. My advice is that suffering yourself for anyone else’s sake isn’t worth it. Don’t force yourself to bear it. Stepping back ten thousand steps, you like Qin Yu too, don’t you?"

Ah Da was silent for a moment before softly humming in agreement.

Su Qingtong: "My advice is just a suggestion. It’s up to you. If you truly don’t want to, I will interrogate Yao Qingzhi again to see if there’s any other way."
