The Tycoon’s Enchanted Mermaid
Chapter 198: The Initiative

Chapter 198: Chapter 198: The Initiative

After hanging up the phone, Ah Da lay flat on the bed, her mind churning with what Bronze Sword had just said, unable to calm down.

She could be sure of one thing, that if it were Qin Yu, she would be willing.

But willingness aside, when two people come together, what’s most important is their feelings; at the very least, it shouldn’t be about using someone as a tool to satisfy some needs.

Ah Da tossed and turned in her bed, her phone buzzing at her side. It was probably Bronze Sword sending the album to her, but she wasn’t in the mood to study it. She needed to sort things out.

Thinking and thinking, she accidentally fell asleep and didn’t wake up until evening when her bones had all softened. She struggled to get up and freshened up with a splash of cold water in the bathroom.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Ah Da patted her cheeks, thinking that Bronze Sword’s strategy of striking first was to get things done before her body reacted and then to let nature take its course.

To take the initiative means to take action herself, right?

But how should she take the initiative?

Ah Da covered her face, knocked on the mirror twice, and decided to figure it out herself first. She went out to grab her phone and opened up the pictures Su Qingtong had sent over, which turned out to be over thirty pages.

Where did Bronze Sword get these from?

She could hardly bear to look at them after flipping through just two pages. What a mess of things. How could she have ever collected such books? They were simply mortifying.

Seeing that it was getting late, Ah Da wondered what Qin Yu was up to since he hadn’t sought her out all day.

Unable to curb her curiosity, Ah Da took her phone, opened the door, and went downstairs only to see that the maid was the only one in the hall. She found out from the maid that Qin Yu had gone diving.

"How long has he been out?"

The maid respectfully answered, "Sir went out at noon."

At noon? Why had he been away for so long?

Ah Da nodded and smiled at the maid, "Thank you, I’ve got it. You can go back to your work."

She finished her juice on the sofa, then couldn’t sit still anymore and got up to walk outside. Perhaps because of its location, the sunset on Malaya Island was always incredibly stunning; the entire expanse gleamed golden, and the sea turned into shimmering gold.

The off-white villa was also shrouded in a thin layer of golden mist. Ah Da stood on the shore, unable to help but spread her arms and close her eyes to feel the caress of the evening breeze.

Taking off her shoes, she stepped onto the beach. The sea washed over her feet from time to time, and she couldn’t help but sigh.

"Feels so good."

The scenery was truly captivating. Ah Da couldn’t help but take out her camera and snap pictures of the distance, crouching down to photograph the small sea snails in the sand.

As she walked along the coast, Ah Da saw in the distance a yacht approaching, and who could it be but Qin Yu in white? She recognized him at a glance.

Ah Da quickened her pace and ran over, leaving a trail of footprints behind. She reached the boarding dock only to find Qin Yu’s face looking worse for wear, which made her involuntarily slow down.

Why was he angry again?

Qin Yu stared coldly at her bare feet, picked up a pair of slippers from the boat, and walked towards her. Stepping in front of her, he lifted her in one arm and threw the shoes to the ground.

"Put these on."

Seeing his fierce demeanor, Ah Da dared not retort but wobbled her feet searching for the sandals on the ground. After slipping her feet into them, she steadied herself before looking up timidly,

"I’ve put them on, you can put me down now."

"The beach is full of all kinds of broken shells; you don’t even look where you’re stepping," said Qin Yu as he lightly smacked her bottom. But Ah Da had long been spoiled by him and couldn’t bear even a hint of grievance.

Her eyes reddened in a moment, and with her lips stubbornly pouted, she turned her face away, refusing to look at him.

Qin Yu set her down and forcefully kissed her after pinching her little chin, then, caressing the corner of her eyes, he chuckled softly, "Are you made of water? You keep dropping pearls every day."

Ah Da couldn’t avoid the kiss and was furious. She pinched the flesh on his waist and glared at him, "Let go of me."

Qin Yu knew if the teasing continued she might really cry, so he let go immediately and received a couple of light punches.

Watching her run towards the fish tank with her braids bouncing, Qin Yu lazily turned and followed her.

Ah Da squatted beside the fish tank, where two enormous crabs occupied nearly the entire space. Their huge red and white pincers were tied with tape, and they kept blowing bubbles from their mouths.

She poked the crab’s shell with her finger, noticing how hard it was.

After studying them for a while.

"Are we going to eat these tonight?" Ah Da looked up at Qin Yu with excitement shining in her glassy eyes, dazzled by the captivating glow, "They look like they have a lot of meat; they must be delicious."

Qin Yu helped her up, "You can eat whatever you want, let’s go, it’s getting late."

On the way back, the staff carried the fish tank and Ah Da chattered nonstop beside Qin Yu, like a little bird, saying she wanted to go diving tomorrow to catch crabs herself.

"Are you sure you dare to catch them?" Qin Yu held her soft white hand, which was considerably smaller than the crab’s pincer—if it were to clamp down, it might just snap in two.

Ah Da, indignant, retorted with a frown, "What do you mean? Of course, I dare! Besides, I never said I’d catch them with my hands, aren’t there tools? Just cover it with a net from a distance."

Qin Yu couldn’t help but chuckle lightly, "Okay, you can try tomorrow, but don’t end up crying."

Ah Da stepped on him and secretly thought, tonight I will be the one to make you cry, regretting having taken his feelings into consideration.

Little did Qin Yu know that the young girl beside him was eagerly sharpening her knives, preparing to deal with him tonight—of course, if he knew, he probably wouldn’t be scared, but excited and anticipatory instead.

The couple didn’t have dinner in the open-air restaurant. Instead, the servants set up a long table on the beach edge, surrounded by white gauze and hung with beige lanterns, creating an atmospheric ambiance.

The Emperor Crab was enormous, and Ah Da got tired of eating just one of its claws. Fortunately, the chef was highly skilled, continually presenting a variety of dishes, each with a distinct taste.

The final crab roe mixed with noodles was explosively delicious, its intensely rich fragrance tantalizing the taste buds.

They laughed and talked through the meal, and time flew by. After dinner, Qin Yu had some work matters to deal with, which suited Ah Da just fine; she immediately ran upstairs to take a shower and get ready.

After some fuss, Ah Da chose a red silk-thin nightgown upon Bronze Sword’s suggestion. It had straps hanging around her neck, a slightly cinched waist, and the length reached only to her thighs, barely covering anything as she moved.

Standing before the mirror, Ah Da covered her chest with her hands, feeling somewhat uneasy—the dress seemed too short.

Outside the window, the sky was dark; the time on her phone showed it was almost nine pm. Ah Da suddenly felt a bit anxious. She feared, dressed like this, would Qin Yu be angry?

Unable to resist, she asked Su Qingtong for advice. Su Qingtong almost burst into laughter upon hearing her.

"Don’t worry, if he gets angry, I, Su Qingtong, will twist off my head and give it to you as a stool to sit on. Trust me, he will be absolutely delighted. Anyway, you’ll eventually have to deal with it; once you start, it gets easier. Don’t leave any ’practice’ issues unresolved."

Ah Da sat on the bed, fiddling with the hem of her dress, and asked softly, "So, what should I do?"

"Didn’t you see what I sent you?" Su Qingtong guessed that Ah Da, being shy, probably didn’t dare to read it and could only settle for teaching her the simplest method, "You walk over to him, directly sit on his lap, and kiss him. That’s all there is to it."

Ah Da’s eyes went round, and to her, it seemed so simple. She immediately cheered herself on, clenched her fists, and said earnestly.

"Alright, I understand."
