The Tycoon’s Enchanted Mermaid -
Chapter 196: The Reason
Chapter 196: Chapter 196: The Reason
Especially the old lady, her demands for these trivial skills were very high, or rather, old-fashioned.
Ah Da felt ridiculed and even more wronged as she determined to succeed in brewing the tea today. She reached out again, her fingers barely touching the water before she furrowed her brows and gasped slightly.
Qin Yu sighed silently, stood up, and sat behind her, grasping her hand to guide her.
"Press your fingers here on the lid, and hold the rim of the cup with the other hand, gently lift it and tilt to pour out the first brew of tea. As long as you don’t splash the water, it won’t scald."
Ah Da learned very seriously, and by the time she had finished the whole process, she felt a sense of satisfaction as she gazed at the clear tea in the white jade cup.
Qin Yu rubbed her head, "Try it."
Ah Da took a sip and her delicate brow suddenly furrowed; she turned to the man behind her, "It’s a bit bitter."
"Um, it’s already very good for your first time," Qin Yu said slowly, his gaze lingering on her moist lips. He poured himself a cup and drained it in one gulp, then the next second, he pinched the young girl’s chin and their lips met.
After the deep kiss, he rested his forehead against hers and asked in a low chuckle, "How about now? Still bitter?"
Ah Da, blushing, shook her head. Her mouth and tongue were numb, and she inexplicably felt that Qin Yu had brought her to this island just to kiss her unrestrainedly.
He always kissed her so intensely, consuming her breath, her thoughts, leaving only his eyes and his breath in her mind.
Ah Da leaned against his chest, took shallow breaths, and looked at the distant ocean where two or three ships were sailing, feeling as though her heart was filled with something.
"Qin Yu."
"Hmm."
"Qin Yu."
"Hmm? What’s wrong?"
Qin Yu looked down in confusion, looking at her.
Ah Da’s fingers pinched his shirt buttons, "I... I think..."
Seeing a maid approaching, she immediately held back the words that were about to slip out. Too shy to speak certain things before others with Qin Yu.
The maid handed her a phone, "Miss, your phone has been ringing continuously, it seems someone is urgently looking for you."
"Ah? Thank you." Ah Da thought it was Su Qingtong and quickly sat up from Qin Yu’s embrace to check the missed calls, only to find it was not Bronze Sword but Wei Lan.
Could it be regarding the museum?
Ah Da snuggled back into Qin Yu’s embrace and returned the call, and soon the person on the other side answered.
"Hello? Su Adai?"
"What Su Adai? What do you need from me?" Ah Da held the phone, not bothering to move away from Qin Yu at all.
Wei Lan said, "About the museum, I have sent you the final blueprint, take a look today if you are free; if there’s anything unsatisfactory, we still can make changes now."
"Oh, no need to look, I don’t understand much about these things, you take care of it," Ah Da said lazily, squinting.
"You always say this, and it puts me in a difficult position," he replied.
Ah Da didn’t care much, "Hard or not, you’ll have to handle it yourself. Alright, I’m hanging up if there’s nothing else."
"Wait, is Third Young Master with you?"
Ah Da raised her hand to scratch Qin Yu’s chin, grinning contentedly, "Yeah, he’s here. What do you need him for?"
Qin Yu let her fuss, his eyes slightly dimmed.
The phone conveyed Wei Lan’s voice, "I just said recently Tang Bufan has been urging me to go to Malaya Island, talking about taking a vacation together. I had already guessed his ill intentions, wanting to drag me along to share the misery... no, to be punished together. Luckily, I was smarter and guessed that Third Young Master was vacationing in Malaya. Third Young Master, hope you’re having fun."
Ah Da was speechless, seriously doubting whether Wei Lan had called just to suck up to Qin Yu.
"Here." Ah Da sat up, shoved the phone into Qin Yu’s hands, and walked over to lean on the railing to look at the scenery.
Qin Yu was already displeased with Wei Lan for disturbing his and Ah Da’s time alone, and naturally, his tone was far from friendly. Holding the phone with a cold expression, he said, "Speak if you have something to say, otherwise scram."
Wei Lan wouldn’t dare to joke around, and immediately respected, "Ok, ok, sorry to disturb, Third Young Master, have fun."
Throwing the phone onto the table, Qin Yu stood up and walked over to Ah Da, placing his hands on either side of her, his chin resting on her shoulder, "What were you trying to say just now?"
Ah Da felt a ticklish sensation in her ears from the warm breath of the man on her face. Unable to resist, she stepped back and ended up pressing against his chest, effectively cornered.
"I... I don’t want to say it anymore."
Qin Yu didn’t allow her to dodge, encircling her waist, and whispered in her ear, "No, continue talking."
"I..." Electricity ran up Ah Da’s spine, causing her legs to weaken, her heart pounding like thunder as she exclaimed in surprise, "Don’t... don’t nibble on my ear, Qin Yu..."
Qin Yu let go of her flushed ear, pinching her waist to turn her face-to-face, "Look at me."
Ah Da’s eyelashes trembled as she looked up, sinking into his inscrutably deep dark pupils. Her hands pushed against his shoulders, fearing he would do something excessive.
"Can we sit down and talk slowly?"
He complied with her request, leading her to a wooden chair nearby.
Ah Da moved a bit further from him, grabbing a pillow and placing it on her lap, holding it with both hands.
"Sitting so far? Afraid that I’ll eat you?" Qin Yu was somewhat helpless, wanting to pull her closer forcefully but fearing her reflex reaction would make her unwilling to open up.
Holding the pillow, her face pale and her voice soft and tender, Ah Da said, "Let’s just talk like this."
Qin Yu nodded, eyes slightly narrowed, his fingers lightly tapping on the armrest, "You talk, I’m listening."
Ah Da twirled her fingers, "About last night, you should know better than me. I’m sorry, I actually didn’t want to, but I couldn’t control myself. And it might happen often in the future... So I think..."
"Want me to help you?" Qin Yu intervened.
Ah Da didn’t nod nor shake her head, her cheeks growing redder, avoiding his gaze as she said softly, "I mean to say, maybe it’s better if we sleep separately in the future. My disturbance at night will affect your sleep."
Qin Yu was resigned, originally thinking she had guessed his physical condition and was seeking his help, but realized she was still clueless and thought it was accidental.
"Do you understand why you can’t control yourself? Last night during your episode, you kept clinging to me, couldn’t leave me. Don’t you have any doubts?"
Ah Da suddenly looked up, her mouth slightly agape in astonishment, "You know?"
Bronze Sword had said he would help her inquire, but there had been no news until now. How did Qin Yu know?
Could it be that he had asked Master Ting Chan?
Qin Yu picked up the phone and searched for something. Then he placed the phone in front of her, "Look for yourself."
Skeptically, Ah Da picked up the phone and as she saw the images and text on it, her eyes gradually widened and her pupils shook. Finally, she dropped the phone and ran towards the house. After a few steps, she came back to grab her phone, all the time keeping her head down without speaking.
Qin Yu didn’t stop her. He picked up the iced tea from the table and drank it. She needed some time to accept the revelation, and he was willing to give her a day. After all, he had been patient for a long time.
Ah Da ran back to her room, shutting the door, locking it, rushed to the bed, and pulled the quilt over herself, wrapping herself up like a mummy. Right now, all she wanted was to find a crack in the floor to crawl into.
