The Tycoon’s Enchanted Mermaid -
Chapter 190: Going Out to Sea to Fish
Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Going Out to Sea to Fish
"Are we on an island right now?" Ah Da stood at the end of the asphalt road, where just one more step would lead to the beach.
Qin Yu explained, "Malaysia is an archipelago, a renowned tourist destination. The peak seasons are every summer and autumn. There are a total of three hundred and eighty-one islands, and the one we’re on is called Vilf; I bought it two years ago specifically as a vacation spot."
"Do you mean to say that this island will be yours in the future, and just the two of us will live here?" Ah Da asked, surprised.
"Yes, but also no. Apart from us, there are some maids, bodyguards, and chefs in the villa to ensure food and accommodations."
Qin Yu took her hand and they strolled along the beach; the sea breeze, laden with moisture, brushed against their faces, lifting their clothes and hair.
Ah Da gave an "Oh," worried that the sea wind would blow away her hat, so she could only lift her hand to hold it down.
Qin Yu stopped. He bent down to fasten the straps on either side of the hat, his slender fingers occasionally touching her chin. Ah Da suddenly remembered it was these same fingers that had sorely stirred her tongue.
After the straps were fastened, Ah Da looked up at Qin Yu. The sunlight shone on him as though enveloping him in a glow, casting a shadow from his nose on his fair skin, making him look even more handsome.
Previously, she had always thought his demeanor was somber and weighty, like an ancient, strictly disciplined emperor, always emanating an aura of authority. Now, with him in a black shirt standing against the sea, Ah Da realized he also had the exuberance and freedom of a young man.
This made him seem even better-looking.
However, good looks couldn’t make up for his deceitful nature.
Ah Da pulled away her hand, carefully stepping forward on the beach. Her bunny slippers sank halfway in; the sand was fine and soft, like stepping on cotton, but the sand getting into her shoes was uncomfortable.
Enduring it for a while but unable to bear it any longer, Ah Da bent down, picked up her shoes, and walked barefoot to the water’s edge. The water was refreshingly cold and very comfortable to step into, compelling her to keep stepping forward.
She had to walk along the edge of the water because the beach was layered with broken shells which looked very sharp.
Suddenly, she spotted a large, intact marine snail. Ah Da quickly ran over; the snail was pure white, bigger than her head. She set her shoes aside and held it up with both hands.
"Qin Yu, look how big this is!"
Qin Yu, finally seeing a smile on her face, felt a stir in his heart, and went over to help her hold the snail.
Ah Da tapped the shell lightly with a finger and bent down to peer into the opening, regretting, "It’s empty inside. The snail must have died a long time ago."
Qin Yu said, "This is an ornamental snail called White Snail. It’s quite common in the sea; the flesh is tough and has a fishy taste, and it’s not very nutritious. Moreover, due to its strong reproductive capacity, all the broken shells you see on the beach are from this species."
Ah Da took it from him, smiling, "As long as the shell is intact, we can take it back as a decorative item."
Qin Yu was charmed by the curve of her lips, crooked his finger to hook her upturned nose, and asked, "There’s plenty of delicious seafood in the sea, do you want to go take a look?"
Ah Da was surprised, "Can we go into the sea?"
Qin Yu nodded, reaching out his hand, "Anytime, come on, let’s go catch tonight’s dinner."
"Great, let’s hurry!" Ah Da placed her hand in his, eager to jump right into the sea, the blue water looking incredibly beautiful and tempting.
Qin Yu first took her back to the villa to change; this was the first time Ah Da saw the black-skinned maids. They were tall, dressed in long skirts, and wore white hats, looking very strict and somber.
The upstairs cloakroom was full of clothes and shoes. No wonder Qin Yu had said it was fine to come in slippers, as unwanted ones could be discarded with heaps of shoes available to switch into.
Thinking of swimming underwater, Ah Da chose a fitted swimsuit. The cloakroom alone contained two cabinets filled with swimsuits in every color and style imaginable.
Ah Da changed into a floral striped swimsuit and took a couple of spins in front of the mirror. She felt her hair scattered everywhere would affect her swimming, so she opened a drawer, pulled out a hair tie, and carelessly tied her hair into a low ponytail, deciding that a twist braid would take too much time and effort.
Plus, she wasn’t very good at braiding.
By the time she went downstairs, Qin Yu was already dressed and ready. He wore a black body suit, his inverted triangle physique perfectly outlined by the muscles on his abdomen and shoulders, not exaggerated, just right, exuding an aesthetic of strength.
Better looking than any model on TV.
Each time, Ah Da couldn’t help but inwardly exclaim, no wonder he was so strong, his muscles were huge, it would be odd if he didn’t have strength. Compared to her slender arms and legs and being much shorter than him, it was no wonder she could never beat him.
Qin Yu, noticing her standing on the stairs, waved at her, "Come on down, what are you staring at?"
Ah Da clattered down the stairs in her slippers, positioned herself in front of Qin Yu, and poked her finger against the blocky muscles on his abdomen; they were rock hard.
"How did you get these?"
Qin Yu enjoyed her closeness and placed her hand on his stomach, "They’re worked out. Do you like them?"
Ah Da hummed and shook her head, "Not really."
Qin Yu chuckled, "You say one thing and mean another."
Ah Da, flustered, retorted, "Not at all."
He really wasn’t shy at all, always pulling her into weird actions, like now, letting her hand wander around, and he seemed to be enjoying it.
His skin was getting thicker.
Ah Da pulled her hand away, not letting him touch her, and like a sly little fox, bounced and ran outside.
"Hurry up, the sun is about to set."
Qin Yu shook his head and smiled lightly as he followed her.
Facing the sunset, the distant sea was tinged with gold.
They arrived at the departure point where the professional crew and boat were already prepared, a small yacht though not as luxurious as the one they had boarded at Cangjiang days earlier.
Soon after boarding, the yacht sped towards the setting sun. Only once they’d left the coast did they realize how dense the surrounding islands were, almost connected to one another.
The far-off islands were crowded with people, Qin Yu mentioned it was a tourist hotspot, and he wasn’t wrong.
At the diving spot, Qin Yu pulled out dive masks and other equipment while saying to Ah Da, "The deep-water area is the only place to find White Fragrant Snail, a rare and precious type of marine snail here. Of course, it’s also more dangerous, so it’s best not to go down if you don’t have deep diving experience."
Ah Da eyed the professionals getting geared up, covered her mouth with her hand, and whispered in Qin Yu’s ear, "Actually, I can move freely underwater without this."
Qin Yu pinched her cheek, not surprised at all, "I know, but just in case, you need to wear all this stuff if you want to go down, otherwise stay up here."
"No way, I want to go down and catch dinner." Ah Da wouldn’t settle for staying on the surface, now that she was here, she had to check it out, as she was very curious about the underwater world.
With Qin Yu’s help, Ah Da put on the heavy gear and strapped on an oxygen tank.
The dive crew went into the water first, carrying nets and fishing tools. Qin Yu then jumped in, initially turning back to catch Ah Da, but she didn’t wait for him and jumped straight off the edge into the water.
