The Tycoon’s Enchanted Mermaid
Chapter 185: Soaking in Water

Chapter 185: Chapter 185: Soaking in Water

Her eyes, watery and vast, resembled those of a small animal facing a fierce predator—there was a hint of defiance in them, anger she dared not express.

Qin Yu felt an involuntary softness in his heart, his heartbeat losing its rhythm. He could not control the palpitations deep within; his hand unconsciously caressed her cheek, his dark eyes brimming with intensity and longing.

The young girl blinked her long lashes, her eyes clouded as she nuzzled against the palm of his hand. Her soft skin, tender to the touch, nearly melted in his hands when suddenly he grasped her chin forcefully, forbidding her to move.

She opened her eyes, her large pupils filled with grievance and confusion.

Qin Yu took a deep breath, his voice hoarse, "Be good, sit still."

After speaking, he withdrew his hand and started the car.

Ah Da held onto the seatbelt with both hands, not daring to disobey, grinding her teeth as restlessness surged within her, feeling more lucid as if a lonely boat floating on the sea.

It was uncomfortable, as if she was about to burst into flames.

Hearing the faint whimpers beside his ear, Qin Yu floored the accelerator, the car speeding along the mountain road.

Upon returning to Wuqiong Water Pavilion, Qin Yu carried her from the car, and once inside, he instructed Song Ma to prepare hangover soup.

After Ah Da was placed on the sofa, her eyelids drooped, she was quiet, her body lopsided, unable to steady itself.

Qin Yu sat next to her, his arm around her to prevent her from falling, his hand on her burning little face, and he suddenly chuckled, "Getting drunk on just a glass of fruit wine."

Ah Da understood his mockery and felt stifled. She boldly swung her hand at him, "It’s not... not because I’m drunk..."

Qin Yu pinned her wrist, delicate and fragile, like a bamboo shoot on a mountain that might snap with too much force. He dipped his head closer to her, inhaling her fragrance.

"If not drunk, then what is it?"

Ah Da lifted her head, her lips almost touching his chin. He wore a shallow smile on his face, mischievously, truly maddening, not realizing how much she was suffering.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. Ah Da decided not to wallow in self-pity. She slung her arm around his neck for leverage to pull herself up, her mouth not idle, going straight for his neck.

Qin Yu didn’t expect her sudden move, a soft bundle pressing close to him; the pressure on his neck was neither light nor heavy, not really a bite, but more like...

After drinking, she did grow bolder, even daring to stir up the fire.

Long fingers threaded through her soft hair, grasping the nape of her neck without stopping her "retaliation". He kneaded gently, sporadically, allowing her to wreak havoc on him.

Feeling little pearls roll down, Qin Yu paused, pulling the person in his arms away to inspect her blushing face, which seemed a tad defiant, her cheeks puffing up.

"The one being bitten is me; why are you the one crying?" Qin Yu wiped the corner of her eye, asking with a low sigh.

Ah Da, dissatisfied with being pushed away, struggled to lean closer, because being near him eased the restlessness and burning sensation in her body, cool and soothing like a water balloon.

"Mm... wah... hug..."

Qin Yu gripped her slender shoulders, firmly keeping a distance, watching her squirm and lunge toward him.

"You can’t."

Ah Da reached out, the space before her seemingly so near yet just out of reach no matter what.

"Wah..."

Qin Yu stood up, pinning her down on the sofa, as Song Ma came over with the hangover soup, "Young Master, it’s a bit hot."

"Put it down," Qin Yu ordered, holding Ah Da’s hands, "You may leave."

"Understood." Song Ma quickly placed the hangover soup on the table, stealing a glance at Ah Da and seeing her palm-sized face as ripe as an apple on a tree, eyes clouded, delicate and beautiful. Just one look was enough to overwhelm even her.

Miss Ade was truly stunning.

Song Ma turned and exited the hall. She had only taken a few steps when she faintly heard the girl’s groaning behind her.

Finally, Miss Ade obediently finished the hangover soup. Her lips were swollen, her tongue was sore, and there were little pearls hanging from her eyelashes like snowflakes fallen on a snowy day. The bullying had been severe; she was unable to muster any petulance and curled up meekly on the sofa, sipping gradually.

Qin Yu held the spoon and helped her out laboriously. The young girl had already been kissed awake, her eyes large and round, full of annoyance. Accidentally hitting her teeth, she lashed out with a swipe.

Not the least bit courteous.

His fingers, distinct in their joints, held a silver spoon, and on his slim and fair wrist were several obvious red marks. Though his nails were neatly clipped, they didn’t lack effectiveness when scratching.

By the end of the hangover soup, only the sediment of sugar remained. Ade furrowed her brows and began to refuse, "It’s too sweet, I don’t want any more."

Qin Yu set the porcelain bowl on the table and pulled out a paper towel intending to wipe her face. Miss Ade quickly took it from him and wiped herself; after smearing it around haphazardly, she crumpled the paper towel into a ball in the palm of her hand and stood up.

"I’m going to sleep."

As she got to her feet to leave, her wrist was caught, and as the world spun around her, she was momentarily suspended in the air and could only grab onto the shoulders in front of her, looking up at the man’s chin.

"I... I can go upstairs by myself..." Miss Ade’s ears turned red; she clutched his clothes, her voice trembling slightly.

Remembering how just moments ago she felt him press her down on the sofa and kiss her deeply, her heart raced uncontrollably. A wild beast seemed ready to burst out of her at any moment, and she could clearly feel that ever since the souls had fused under the bronze lamp last time, her desire to cling to Qin Yu had intensified.

It wasn’t a psychological dependence but a craving within her body, as if only skin-to-skin contact could bring a semblance of satisfaction and pleasure. This sensation was too strange.

Miss Ade panicked, the mere thought embarrassing her enough to make her want to curl up and hide like a turtle retracting into its shell.

Qin Yu effortlessly carried her upstairs without saying a word.

Upon entering the room and placing her on the bed, he left after a reminder, "It’s getting late, take a bath and rest soon."

Miss Ade grabbed a pillow and hugged it to her chest, her long black hair cascading down her waist, making her look meek and endearing. She nodded and urged, "I know, you go rest too."

Qin Yu gave her a deep look and turned to leave.

After the sound of the door closing, Miss Ade tossed aside the pillow and ran barefoot into the bathroom, turning on the tap. Not waiting for the water to cover her ankles, she was already eager to lie down in it.

As she had expected, it felt really nice to be in the water.

If she stayed with Qin Yu any longer, she feared she would lose control and do something bizarre.

She didn’t know what to do.

Her consciousness shifted back and forth between clarity and haziness, desperate and fervent, longing for a release.

But what was it?

The hangover soup she had ingested seemed to be like oil poured over flames, a burning feeling spreading from her stomach throughout her body, creating an unbearable heat. At least lying in the water alleviated some of it.

Miss Ade lay in the bath, sleepy until she suddenly woke up in the middle of the night and began to undress and bathe.

...

The next morning, Song Ma didn’t see Miss Ade coming down for breakfast and worriedly went upstairs to knock on the door, calling out as she knocked. Strangely, there was no response.

Song Ma, anxious, immediately entered to check and found Miss Ade unconscious in the bathtub, wearing pajamas, with a burning forehead and visibly fiery red all over.

This gave Song Ma quite the scare; she hastily called the doctor and informed Qin Yu.

The maid picked up Miss Ade to dry her off and change her into clean clothes, and soon after, the doctor arrived.
