Chapter 398: Chapter 399: The Stirring of Evil

"Oh, oh, I’m coming back right away, don’t be scared, I’m on my way." He said as he pushed his way through the crowd.

He coldly glanced one last time at Qin Fenghua, who was now being helped up by the police, and then dialed Old Liu’s number again on his mobile phone.

"Old Liu, prepare all the documents. The top-notch legal team I’m hiring will come to collect information from you. You must cooperate fully to ensure that Qin Fenghua spends the rest of his life in jail, got it?"

"Yes, Boss, I understand." Old Liu replied with a sad undertone.

After hanging up the phone, Chu You had reached his car and promptly dialed his executive assistant’s number.

"Listen, the Qin Fenghua situation is grave and has had severe repercussions. Get the details, hire a legal team, and make sure he rots in jail."

"Alright, boss, understood."

"And, this matter can’t reach the media. Make sure you handle things discreetly."

"Don’t worry, boss. I know how to handle it."

"Hmm...one last thing, I don’t want Qin Fenghua to have a comfortable time in prison."

The executive assistant was quick to catch the hidden meaning in Chu You’s words, and mysteriously answered, "Understood. I promise you won’t be disappointed."

"Good, then there’s nothing more. Bye."

Sitting in the car, his eyes were somewhat distant. The decision to change his plan to kill Qin Fenghua was due to the aforementioned tactics. Why did he have to provoke Bao’er? Fine then, let the living hell of your latter half of life extinguish the rage in my heart.

The car started up instantly, and the roaring noise of the extraordinary vehicle quickly moving away from the spot left the bystanders amazed but slightly displeased.

Once he reached his villa, Chu You parked his car, strode in and closed the heavy doors behind him.

The sound of footsteps climbing the stairs echoed as Chu You reached his room. Realizing that the room was still dark, he gently turned the doorknob and opened the door.

His hand fumbled for the switch on the wall; with a soft ’click’, the room was filled with light, brightly illuminated.

There was no sign of Bao’er on the bed, but the indent in the bedding clearly indicated that someone was hidden underneath.

Looking at the bed, Chu You couldn’t help but smile and softly called, "Bao’er."

Upon hearing his voice, the person under the sheets moved slightly, appearing as if she was about to throw off the covers. But Chu You beat her to it and lightly lifted the blanket.

Bao’er, originally kneeling on the bed, sat up straight at the lifting of the blanket. She looked at Chu You with tear-stained, red eyes that were both pitiful and helpless.

At that moment, Bao’er was dressed in a tight warm suit that hugged her petite body. Chu You could even see the slight bulge of her chests.

Bao’er wiped her eyes and quietly said, "I’m sorry, brother."

"Why are you apologizing?" He replied, covering Bao’er with the blanket again to keep her from catching a chill.

"I...I caused you trouble." Once she had made the phone call, Bao’er regretted it. Yet waking up in this unfamiliar surroundings and not finding Chu You around made her terrified. After shouting for Chu You and not getting a response, Bao’er was terrified. Her childish heart was suddenly gripped by overwhelming fear.

Bao’er climbed back on the bed and crawled under the covers. Her mind began to spin with fear, and the more she thought about it, the more she cried. It was under these circumstances that she had called Chu You.

However, when she heard his voice on the other end of the phone, full of concern, she felt less frightened. But then feelings of embarrassment surfaced in her heart.

Her brother must have been busy with something important, and she...she must have been such a nuisance. Bao’er felt distraught.

Bao’er now felt she had to take responsibility for her ’mistake’.

"No, not at all, I was coming home anyway. Bao’er," Calling out to her, Chu You sat on the edge of the bed and continued, "Now, you and I only have each other. I am your guardian, your brother, and your father. We are family now, you understand?" Further adding, "No matter what, whenever you need me, don’t hesitate to call me. Don’t hold any burden in your heart. I will always stand behind you."

He then looked at Bao’er who was gazing at him and smiled, "Bao’er, in my heart, you’re my family, the one I care about the most. Also, our relationship is one of equals. Try not to see me as a stern adult. While I am responsible for your upbringing, I also want to be friends with you."

Chu You was advising Bao’er because he didn’t want their relationship to turn into a strict hierarchy. He needed to nip this potential issue in the bud.

A smile graced Bao’er’s face. Her eyes, like black pearls, were exceptionally bright and moist under the light. And because she had been crying, they held a hint of red...

"I understand." Bao’er said as she moved, causing the blanket around her to slip down. Then, she suddenly leaned into Chu You’s back, her arms loosely wrapped around his waist. Her head rested against Chu You’s sturdy back as she loudly called him by a title.

"Father-king!"

Feeling the warmth suddenly transmitting from his back and hearing Bao’er’s new moniker for him, Chu You was stunned...

"Can I call you Father-king?" The juvenile voice continued from behind him. He could even feel the movements of her face as she spoke.

"Haha, of course, you can. But this is just between the two of us. You can’t call me that in front of others." Chu You didn’t quite understand where this new joke from Bao’er was coming from. But simultaneously, his mind flashed a picture of an adult Bao’er, almost unsettling real with his body reacting. This left Chu You astonished. It was a sensation part longing, part terror!

Without meditating on this sensation, he immediately dismissed the ’inappropriate’ tingle and forcefully put an end to his body’s reaction, just in time.

"Okay..." Bao’er giggled, her voice cute and tender.

Chu You stretched out his hand and gently patted Bao’er’s hand, "Alright, come down now." Bao’er loosened her hold and slid off Chu You’s back to sit kneeling on the bed, smiling at her brother.

"You’re wearing so little, lie down quickly." He stood up and told Bao’er.

But Bao’er’s next sentence left Chu You taken aback once more.

"Father, I want to sleep with you."

"Huh?"

Chu You felt certain that his face had frozen at that moment, while simultaneously feeling blood rush to his face, making it somewhat hot.

Bao’er seemed to have let go internally. With her large eyes unwaveringly looking at herself, there was an extreme purity in her gaze, not a trace of impurity.

Suddenly, he felt a sense of urgency within him. Chu You knew that he had to answer within a very short time, otherwise all his previous consolations might all be in vain, and the cheerful atmosphere that had been so hard to create with Bao’er would be completely gone. Bao’er’s open heart would undoubtedly have cracks.

Ah! A silent sigh, worried that the words said may hurt you!

"Okay, your father will sleep with you!" He said calmly, showing no change in his demeanor. "Lie down quick, I’m going to the bathroom."

"Okay!" Bao’er smiled, immediately lying down. Chu You covered her with the blanket, then turned and walked towards the bathroom.

The weather had gotten quite cold, yet Chu You was running cold water with no heat. He felt that he needed to clear his mind.

After spending some time in the bathroom, Chu You came out to find Bao’er was playing on her cell phone.

’Click..’ The room’s lights suddenly went out, with only a soft light from the mobile phone on the bed. Then he started undressing, making rustling sounds in the darkness.

Finally, he pulled back one corner of the blanket, and he immediately laid down. For some reason, the moment he laid down, Chu You suddenly felt like he was a virgin about to be unwrapped.

But where did this sense of nervousness come from? He looked at Bao’er, who was still playing on her phone, took a deep breath and said, "Stop playing, it’s not good for your eyes."

"Hmm..."

Bao’er obediently turned off her phone and the room suddenly plunged into complete darkness.

The moment Bao’er turned off her phone, Chu You noticed what appeared to be a group chat interface on her phone screen, with a few different profile pictures showing the content of their conversation.

After saying this, he laid flat on his back with his hands not under the blanket but exposed and crossed over his chest, staring at the ceiling

Then a movement came from his side, followed by Chu You feeling an extremely soft body leaning over.

"Father, aren’t your hands cold outside?"

"Hmm.." He mimicked Bao’er and then stretched his hands into the blanket. Immediately, the hand that was closer to Bao’er was grabbed by her and then Bao’er’s head rested on his arm.

After a little while, just when Chu You thought Bao’er had fallen asleep, Bao’er’s voice emerged from beside.

"Father, can I ask you something?"

"Still awake? Go ahead."

"Father..." Here, Chu You felt how Bao’er held his arm even tighter, "Do...do you have a girlfriend?"

A sudden flutter in his heart, he blinked and replied, "Yes, I do."

Bao’er stirred a little and her voice came again, "Oh, what’s her name?"

"Her name is Lin Luor, you will meet her when the opportunity arises."

"Is she in the distant capital?"

"Not at the moment, she had some matters to attend to at home."

"Oh..."

"What are you thinking about? Quickly go to sleep."

"Alright."

The darkness once again returned to silence. Chu You, with half-closed eyes, seemed to smell the fragrance emanating next to him. His mind was partly blank, partly confused, unable to sleep.

After a while, the regular sound of Bao’er’s breathing came from beside. The small body that held his arm rose and fell slightly.

The lengthy period of lying flat made Chu You feel uncomfortable. At this point, he gently moved Bao’er’s hand that was holding him off with his other hand, and finally turned to sleep on his side, his back to Bao’er.

Ah, it feels much better, Chu You immediately felt not only his heart, but also his mind seemed much quieter, he closed his eyes.

Just then, a delicate small hand reached out from within the covers and wrapped around his body, and his back was once again pressed against Bao’er.

Chu You was startled, he slightly moved his body to look back, but found Bao’er was still sound asleep.

"Bao’er..." He whispered softly, but there was no response from the other side.
