Chapter 457 I Feel Disgusted

Chapter 457: Chapter 457 I Feel Disgusted

"Zhiwei, I’m here to invite you to my wedding," Meng Qiancheng said smoothly as he extended the invitation, his demeanor calm, "You won’t refuse, right?"

Of course, Cheng Zhiwei would refuse; she didn’t want to have anything to do with Meng Qiancheng.

But Meng Qiancheng’s next words said, "You know I don’t have many relatives, so for this wedding, I’ve invited Uncle Cheng and Aunt Guo to attend, and Sister Zhiyin, too. I hope they can witness my happy moment."

A thinly veiled threat.

Cheng Zhiwei looked at him expressionlessly; her lips had lost their color.

"We will attend," Zhou Lin spoke for Cheng Zhiwei, no longer with the initial urgency as he rushed over, taking Cheng Zhiwei’s hand in silence, declaring ownership.

Meng Qiancheng’s gaze lingered on their joined hands for an instant before quickly shifting away, still smiling warmly and genially, "Then I will be waiting for you two in Yucheng."

After he left, Cheng Zhiwei’s body went limp, and Zhou Lin wrapped her in his arms.

He kissed her forehead, "It’s okay, we are just going."

"But it’s definitely a trap," Cheng Zhiwei felt extremely troubled inside. Meng Qiancheng delivering the invitation himself was a sure sign that he was confident she would come.

Zhou Lin pressed his temple, his eyes narrowing into deep pools, "I know."

Cheng Zhiwei bit her lip; the threatening words of Meng Qiancheng heavily weighed on her heart.

The wedding was in three days, so Cheng Zhiwei and Zhou Lin arranged for their child to be taken care of and went straight back to Yucheng.

They headed for the Zhou family’s old house.

Lin Yu lived alone in the old house, her life simple and reclusive; she wore a black dress, her hair tied up with a white hairband, the aura about her particularly somber.

"Zhiwei," Lin Yu embraced her, her voice exceedingly gentle, "you’re back."

"Thank you, Auntie."

Cheng Zhiwei felt somewhat guilty towards Lin Yu; she had faced those things alone in Yucheng while Cheng Zhiwei was far away in Sea City, not even sending greetings.

"The rooms have all been tidied up. Are you staying together or separately?" she tentatively asked.

She very much hoped they would stay together, but she didn’t want to pressure Cheng Zhiwei.

"We’ll stay together," Zhou Lin said first, his peripheral vision catching a glimpse of Cheng Zhiwei, who definitely didn’t look well, before adding, "After all, even though we’re divorced, we’re still suitable bed partners."

"Bed partners?" Lin Yu exclaimed in disbelief.

Cheng Zhiwei blushed with embarrassment, "He’s talking nonsense."

Lin Yu laughed out loud; with their return this time, she always felt the relationship between the two seemed a bit better.

Even though Cheng Zhiwei always gave Zhou Lin the cold shoulder.

"Let’s stay separately after all, I had the housekeeper prepare the rooms," Lin Yu couldn’t bear to make Cheng Zhiwei uncomfortable, so she would have to inconvenience her own son.

"Thank you, Auntie," Cheng Zhiwei breathed a sigh of relief; these past few days she had really had enough of Zhou Lin.

Zhou Lin looked pitifully at Lin Yu but, in the end, didn’t say anything.

The next morning, Cheng Zhiwei and Zhou Lin went to the wedding venue.

Meng Qiancheng was now the owner of the Zhou Group. Even though Zhou Chenyan had nearly driven the company to the ground, the foundations remained, and so it was slowly stabilizing.

This wedding was particularly grand.

Many socialites were invited.

Anyone could see that Meng Qiancheng was using the wedding to carve out a path for himself in Yucheng.

With Zhou Lin’s appearance, he drew considerable attention.

He, however, was unfazed, his expression unchanged in the face of various looks. When greeted, he responded coolly.

Cheng Zhiwei’s gaze shifted, and she saw the Cheng family couple and Cheng Zhiying, all seated at the main table.

Even more so, there were several bodyguards standing not far behind them, not for their protection, but to monitor them.

Cheng Zhiwei walked over, "Mom, Sister."

She greeted them but ignored Cheng Shang.

Guo Cuihua, first delighted at seeing her, then showed a look of shock, before anxiously asking, "Why are you here? Do you not know..."

The rest of her words turned into a sigh upon seeing Zhou Lin.

She had come to understand.

Cheng Zhiyin held Cheng Zhiwei’s hand, her voice filled with anger, "Did Meng Qiancheng threaten you with us?"

Cheng Zhiwei patted her hand to calm her, "It’s okay."

Cheng Zhiying bit her teeth, how could it possibly be okay?

One should know that Guo Cuihua and Cheng Shang had already returned to their hometown, yet Meng Qiancheng had someone bring them over, claiming it was for his wedding, hoping for their blessing.

After all, the story was that Meng Qiancheng had achieved his success today through Cheng Family’s adoption and financial support.

A good reputation was secured.

But only the parties involved knew what kind of a black heart he had.

"You shouldn’t have come," Cheng Zhiying reproached softly, "He wouldn’t dare to do anything to us."

Cheng Zhiwei hung her head, not spelling out her naiveté.

About half an hour later, the gentle music switched to the wedding march.

The officiant finished his formalities and called the bride to enter.

A few seconds after, what was a quiet crowd suddenly burst into quite a shock of exclamations; all eyes fell on Cheng Zhiwei.

Cheng Zhiwei also saw, her face turning pale, overtaken with disbelief, and a sense of...

Disgust!

Cheng Zhiying couldn’t hold back any longer and cursed softly, "Meng Qiancheng is sick in the head."

Cheng Zhiwei stared intently at the bride.

The bride, in a splendidly beautiful white gown and holding flowers, walked up the aisle with the support of two bridesmaids.

Only, that face bore a seven or eight parts resemblance to Cheng Zhiwei.

The reason it wasn’t a complete match was that her face seemed a bit stiff and unnatural.

"Zhiwei," Guo Cuihua called out softly, full of distress.

Cheng Zhiwei pursed her lips, her hand already held by Zhou Lin; she met his gaze dazedly, anger spreading in her eyes.

It was the anger of being humiliated.

To outsiders, Meng Qiancheng marrying a woman who looked no different from Cheng Zhiwei.

"Don’t look, don’t dirty your eyes," Zhou Lin comforted her, loudly enough for everyone to hear.

Cheng Zhiwei lowered her gaze, containing all her emotions, and nodded, "I know."

Isn’t it just a woman who looks like me?

Hah, a counterfeit.

Meng Qiancheng smiled as he accepted the woman’s hand, swiftly completing the ceremony.

During the toasting, only then did Cheng Zhiwei learn who this woman, who resembled her so much, was.

It was He Mingzhu.

While her appearance had changed, her voice had not.

"Cheng Zhiwei, long time no see," He Mingzhu raised her glass with some pride, "Do you like how I look?"

"Is Miss He going to the extent of not even caring for her own face?" Cheng Zhiwei coldly scoffed.

In truth, whether He Mingzhu cared for her face or not didn’t concern Cheng Zhiwei, but how could she use a face that was an exact copy of her own?

A complete insult.

"Cheng Zhiwei, are you angry?" He Mingzhu asked knowingly; she touched her own face.

"I find it disgusting."
