Chapter 458: Chapter 458: Just an Imitation, As Long As He Likes It
He Mingzhu’s face, having undergone surgery, still seemed a bit stiff.
When Cheng Zhiwei called her disgusting, she didn’t get angry; instead, she triumphantly downed her drink and her gaze lingered on Zhou Lin with a hint of pride.
She was quite pleased to disgust Cheng Zhiwei.
Meng Qiancheng walked over, completely unbothered by the disgraceful act he had committed.
His gaze was intense and meaningful, "Zhiwei, I’m happy you could come."
Guo Cuihua couldn’t stand it any longer and hissed angrily, "Meng Qiancheng, what are you trying to do? Zhiwei has done nothing to deserve this. How can you humiliate her like this?"
Meng Qiancheng actually married a woman who looked similar to Cheng Zhiwei, and the public didn’t know what to think of Cheng Zhiwei.
With a smile playing on his lips, Meng Qiancheng swirled his glass and said nonchalantly, "Auntie, this is the woman I love."
The woman he loved, though it was unclear exactly whom he was referring to.
Guo Cuihua felt a tightness in her chest, "But Zhiwei..."
"Mom, it’s okay," Cheng Zhiwei reassured as she grabbed Guo Cuihua’s hand, "It’s just a fake, let him enjoy if he likes."
It would be best if the two of them were tied together for life and never bothered her again.
That way, even if there were ten or eight women who looked like her, she wouldn’t care.
When He Mingzhu heard the words "just a fake," a flash of anger appeared in her eyes, and her gaze towards Zhou Lin filled with hatred.
If it weren’t for Zhou Lin and that scum He Ye conspiring against her, she wouldn’t have had to compromise and transform her lovely face into that hated look of Cheng Zhiwei.
But all of this would soon be over.
She withdrew her gaze, linked arms with Meng Qiancheng, and said with a radiant smile, "Thank you all for attending our wedding, have fun."
Meng Qiancheng raised his glass and moved away with He Mingzhu.
Cheng Zhiwei sat down, unseen under the table, her hands trembling at the thought of He Mingzhu’s face that so resembled her own, truly infuriating her.
Zhou Lin gripped her hand tightly, "It’s okay, I’m here."
Nothing problematic occurred afterwards.
The wedding ended, and the ball began.
Neither Zhou Lin nor Cheng Zhiwei felt like dancing, especially since this was Meng Qiancheng’s place, and it was better to stay cautious.
Huo Xuan came over and invited Cheng Zhiyin to dance; they hadn’t seen each other for a long time, and Huo Xuan looked at Cheng Zhiyin with a special gleam in his eyes.
Cheng Zhiyin looked up at another person in the crowd and shook her head, declining.
Huo Xuan appeared a bit disappointed, "Zhiyin..."
He wanted to say something but ended up leaving without another word.
Cheng Zhiyin tugged at the corner of her mouth and put down her drink, "I’m going to the restroom."
A few minutes later, someone came looking for Cheng Zhiwei, anxiously saying, "Miss Cheng and Miss Huo are fighting in the restroom."
Cheng Zhiwei hurried over and saw a crowd gathered at the restroom door.
She pushed her way in and saw Cheng Zhiyin leaning against the wall, pale, soaked with water, and her clothing mostly wet.
A girl in a pink dress stood proudly in front, "Old woman, you should look at yourself—you don’t deserve to stand beside Brother Xuan."
It was Huo Xuan’s sister, Huo Yaya.
Earlier, when Huo Xuan was pursuing Cheng Zhiyin, Huo Yaya had shown a particular dislike for Cheng Zhiyin, and now it had escalated.
Cheng Zhiwei approached coldly and after checking Cheng Zhiyin’s condition, she frowned at Huo Yaya, "Miss Huo, causing such a scene at someone else’s wedding, isn’t that shameful?"
Huo Yaya looked at Cheng Zhiwei with disdain and smiled, "Isn’t this the bride of today?"
"Oh, sorry, my mistake."
She intended to disgust Cheng Zhiwei.
After all, everyone present knew the sordid details between Zhou Lin and Meng Qiancheng, and that Meng Qiancheng’s bride looked a lot like Cheng Zhiwei.
Cheng Zhiwei’s expression darkened, she walked up to Huo Yaya and slapped her across the face.
The thing she detested the most today had just been mentioned right in front of her by Huo Yaya.
Huo Yaya, stunned, clutched her face and after a few seconds erupted, "How dare you hit me?"
"Apologize," Cheng Zhiwei’s eyes filled with frost.
Huo Yaya, being the youngest daughter of the Huo family, had never been treated this way, let alone consider apologizing.
"It’s not me who should apologize, but her, an old divorced woman who can’t have children, thinking she can marry into a wealthy family—must be deluded," Huo Yaya continued her tirade recklessly.
Each word precisely trampled on Cheng Zhiyin’s self-respect.
Even though Cheng Zhiyin had made it very clear to Huo Xuan, Huo Yaya still sneered every time she saw her.
Huo Yaya’s vile words prompted Cheng Zhiwei to fiercely raise her hand again and slap her other cheek.
Furious, Huo Yaya was about to retort when Huo Xuan’s voice came from behind, "What are you doing?"
Huo Yaya’s expression instantly changed, looking pitifully at Huo Xuan, "Brother, they’re bullying me."
Huo Xuan, upon seeing the slap marks on Huo Yaya’s face and then Cheng Zhiyin’s disheveled appearance, his expression darkened.
Ignoring the crowd, he chastised Huo Yaya, "Are you causing her trouble again? Huo Yaya, I’ve warned you not to bully her."
Huo Yaya’s lips quivered with anger, and she stamped her foot furiously.
"Brother."
He was actually siding with Cheng Zhiyin.
Huo Xuan took off his coat and draped it over Cheng Zhiyin, apologizing with concern, "I’m sorry."
"Brother, why are you apologizing to her?" Huo Yaya glared fiercely at Cheng Zhiyin.
"Enough," an impatient voice said.
Meng Qiancheng walked over and stared expressionlessly at Huo Yaya, "Causing trouble at my wedding, truly an eye-opener to the Huo family’s upbringing."
Huo Yaya’s face turned pale, she bit her lip and huffed defiantly but said nothing.
Huo Xuan came over to apologize for Huo Yaya and then grabbed her wrist and forcefully pulled her away.
The onlookers slowly dispersed.
Meng Qiancheng said, "There’s a room upstairs; go freshen up."
Cheng Zhiwei assisted Cheng Zhiyin outside and whispered, "Thank you."
She didn’t go upstairs, as she didn’t dare.
She helped Cheng Zhiyin leave directly.
Zhou Lin was already waiting in the car.
Cheng Zhiwei asked quietly, "Has this Huo Yaya been troubling you all along?"
"Being a rich young mistress, she naturally looks down on people like us," replied Cheng Zhiyin.
She was glad that she had always been rejecting Huo Xuan; otherwise, her situation would be even worse.
"You still said Huo Xuan was a responsible person, look what he has done," Cheng Zhiwei complained.
Zhou Lin touched his nose, not daring to say much.
Huo Xuan himself was decent, but his family... it seemed they were difficult to get along with.
