Chapter 385 - 392 Helen Wilson

Chapter 385: Chapter 392 Helen Wilson

"Hmph, don’t look so troubled; I’m not that hard on you." Helen Wilson shifted her tone.

John Brown was immediately overjoyed, sensing there was room for negotiation. He quickly said, "So, what do you mean..."

Helen looked at this powerful man who had to be mindful of her mood, feeling indescribably satisfied, she said, "I won’t force you to get a divorce right away, but you can’t think of shaking me off. Do you have an issue with that?"

Now, as long as Helen wasn’t pushing him to divorce, he was very grateful. He quickly said, "No problem." He knew Helen surely had more to say, so he looked at her, waiting for her to continue.

"From now on, when I call you, you have to come. Otherwise, I’ll go to your company to find you, or to your home."

John grinned, knowing that with Helen’s personality, she could definitely do such a thing. He said, "Okay, but there are times when it’s inconvenient for me. You have to understand that."

"Don’t worry, I’m not that unreasonable." Helen felt even happier inside and said, "Then this afternoon, you’ll go house hunting with me."

"What?" John immediately widened his eyes and said, "Really house hunting?"

"Of course, really. Our home; of course, the house must be chosen by both of us."

"Joanne, can we take it slow on this matter?"

Helen tilted her head and thought for a moment, then said, "Okay, I’ll concede again. We won’t pick a house for now, but in a few days, we’re going back to see my parents. You don’t have a problem with that, do you?"

Seeing that Helen had already made concessions, John dared not set more conditions. He braced himself and said, "No problem."

"Then it’s settled. I’ll call you then."

Helen had finally achieved her goal, and she let go of John Brown, feeling so happy. This powerful mysterious figure had no way out in front of her, making her so excited she wanted to laugh out loud.

But she was afraid John might notice something, so she held it in.

John sat up and put his arm around Helen’s shoulder, coaxing her, "Joanne, I’m not trying to avoid it. I just want to ask you, isn’t your father war buddies with Gina’s father? If you take me back, sooner or later, we’re going to have another crash. Last time I managed to get by, but next time it might not be so easy. If the truth gets out, it will hurt both Gina’s parents and yours."

"I don’t care. In front of my parents, you’re my boyfriend, my husband. You’ll have to find a way yourself with Gina."

"This..."

"I’m not even forcing you to divorce Gina now, what more do you want? Can’t you even meet this request of mine?" Helen bit her lip, her eyes turning red.

"Alright, alright, I’ll agree, won’t I?" John hurriedly soothed Helen while internally feeling bitter but didn’t realize Helen turned her face away, a smile blooming on her face.

At that moment, the phone rang. John quickly ran to the living room to find his phone. It was his wife, Gina Lopez, calling, and it made him nervous. He didn’t dare to pick it up; if Helen made any sound now, it would be quite troublesome.

"Answer it, I’m not going to make things difficult for you." Helen had achieved her goal today, so she didn’t dare push John any further and began to put on her clothes.

Only then did John answer the call. Gina immediately said, "Honey, what are you doing?"

The way she called him "honey" was so endearing, and John found it pleasing but felt even guiltier now. He said, "I’m out handling some business. I’ll be back at the office in a moment."

"Oh, I wondered why you didn’t come by at noon. Okay, busy then." Gina was about to hang up when suddenly a woman’s voice came through the phone. She quickly put the phone back to her ear and asked with a frown, "Who are you with?"

John gave Helen a look, while Helen smiled cheekily at John and said, "Tell your wife we’re talking business."

Helen’s voice wasn’t small, and Gina heard it, and it sounded like Helen’s voice to her. Immediately, a wave of jealousy arose in her heart, "Are you with Helen?"

"Well, there’s still something unresolved from the last case, so I just came over." John could only admit.

"Discussing business at noon?" Gina wasn’t so easy to fool, and besides, she knew there was something between John and Helen.

Helen snatched John’s phone, startling him, and sat beside him, saying into the phone, "Mr. Lopez, are you worried I’m doing something with your husband?"

Hearing Helen’s voice, Gina surprisingly calmed down and said with a faint smile, "Officer Monaghan, what worry? You and James’s matters are from the past. I trust James."

Helen instantly laughed, "No wonder James married you; you’re indeed smarter. Rest assured, I’m just talking a bit of business with James. I have another case I need his help with, and I might have to borrow your husband from time to time. If you’re worried, I can find someone else."

John thought to himself: Not bad, you know how to retreat to advance.

Gina quickly and readily said, "No problem. Civil-police cooperation, how could I disagree?"

"Thank you very much. Mr. Lopez has such grace, unlike those petty women who tie their husband to their side, afraid of him sneaking out for a bite."

Gina was relatively satisfied at this point. Since Helen said this, it meant John had already told Helen they were married. She smiled and said, "Well, I won’t disturb you then."

"Okay, I’ll treat you and your husband to dinner later."

After hanging up the phone, Helen looked at John with a smile and said, "How was it? I performed well, didn’t I?"

John chuckled and said, "Not bad, quite good."

"Hmph, you idiot, I’m giving you face, not to make things too difficult for you, but what you’ve promised me, you can’t go back on."

"Alright, alright, I definitely won’t go back on my word."

"Now put your clothes on; were you planning not to leave?"

John just then realized he wasn’t dressed and quickly put his clothes back on, but looking at his outfit, the buttons on his shirt were ripped off, and his pants were all wrinkled. He said with a wry smile, "Look at my clothes, can I still wear these?"

"Hehehe, that’s your problem. You figure it out."

John gave Helen a look and said, "I’m leaving then."

"Go on, I won’t see you out."

As soon as John left, Helen jumped up onto the sofa, exclaimed excitedly, "Oh yeah, Mysterious Figure, you’ll never get rid of me!"

Helen had been very conflicted before; she didn’t know why she got involved with John nor why she liked him. But her admiration for the mysterious figure made her unable to fully accept John, feeling he was still too weak, so she didn’t really want to have feelings for him.

But now that she knew John and the mysterious figure were the same person, she inexplicably liked John. She combined feelings and admiration, and by not revealing the truth, she could on occasions really hassle John, the mysterious figure, it gave her an indescribable sense of accomplishment.

John left Helen’s home, and sitting in the car, he felt speechless. He had initially thought Melody Yoody finding out he was married would be the biggest issue. Who knew Melody had been quiet these days, but Helen had started making a fuss. Fortunately, there was some buffer with Helen, giving him time to come up with a plan.

This outfit definitely wasn’t suitable to go back to the office. If others saw, they’d know at a glance that he hadn’t been up to any good. So, he could only drive home first to change clothes.

John opened the door and saw Emily Lopez.

"Sandra!"

"Brother-in-law!"

Both called out at the same time, then Emily stared at John, not blinking.

"Sandra, I’m going to change clothes." After saying this, John just intended to sneak back into the bedroom.

"Wait a minute!" Emily grabbed John’s arm, looking him up and down, mischievously, "Brother-in-law, what did you go do?"

"Nothing much." John chuckled awkwardly.

"Nothing? Then why are the buttons on your shirt gone, and your pants wrinkled?"

"Uh... I had a fight. Don’t tell your sister."

"A fight?" Emily looked at John in confusion, "Brother-in-law, you’re good at fighting; could you really end up this disheveled?"

"The other guy was skilled too."

"Really? Then why do you have water stains on your clothes, all over the place?"

John silently sweated, Helen had been wild back then, her kisses leaving marks even through his clothes, and they were Helen’s slobber marks. He glanced down, "I really didn’t know how it happened; the fight was too intense to notice."

"Oh, I see. Well, hurry and change your clothes." Only then did Emily release John’s arm.

John felt relieved and hurried into the bedroom, quickly changed into another set of clothes, and then carried the worn ones out, intending to throw them in the washing machine.

Emily stood in the living room, watching John hustle about. When he finished, Emily sidled up to him, resting her elbow on John’s shoulder, smiling, "Brother-in-law, which woman is so wild? The fight was so intense. Don’t say it was my sister, huh?"

John’s face immediately darkened, knowing Emily had figured it out.

"Hehehe, brother-in-law, you’re really not being decent, huh? With my sister as your wife, you’re still out playing around. If I tell my sister about this, I wonder how she’d react?"
