The Supreme Soldier in the City
Chapter 366 - 373: Total Annihilation

Chapter 366: Chapter 373: Total Annihilation

James Brown’s eyes showed a hint of surprise; such drastic measures as cutting off one’s limb were not something just anyone could casually execute. This William Power, trained by the S Organization in Japan, was truly ruthless.

However, being ruthless is useless if there’s no comparison in prowess. It’s a pity that William Power’s strength was far less than James Brown’s. Even though his unexpected move caused James Brown to hesitate for a mere 0.01 seconds, the killer’s dagger still failed to inflict any damage on James Brown.

Without dodging, James Brown grabbed William Power’s hand and yanked it sideways, causing William Armstrong’s arm to involuntarily block the path between James and William Power’s dagger.

There was no returning from William Power’s move, and with James Brown’s lightning-fast action, the dagger ended up stabbing solidly into William’s own right arm—piercing one side and exiting the other.

"Bang!" At that moment, James Brown’s leg flew out in a kick, and William Power could only manage to slightly dodge his vital point, bearing the full brunt of James’s kick.

This one kick sent him flying several meters away, not stopping until he hit the wall. He managed to remain standing, with his left hand still tightly clutching the dagger, but his right arm was oddly positioned in front of his chest.

"You... are... strong..." After uttering these three words, a mouthful of fresh blood spouted from William Power, and then his body slumped limply to the ground.

While James Brown’s kick did not hit William’s vitals, the tremendous force still rattled his internal organs. That he could speak those three words was no small feat, but then his eyes closed, and his body limply slid to the floor, motionless.

Helen Wilson was completely stunned at the sight. William Power was so strong, yet he was defeated so easily by this Mysterious Figure. Just how powerful was this Mysterious Figure? It was beyond Helen’s imagination.

And the five men who came with William Power, all experienced in the ways of killing, were no strangers to death. Yet seeing William Power killed so effortlessly by this man, even their formidable mental fortitude couldn’t stand, and one by one their faces became extremely unsightly.

"Hmph, a bunch of little devils daring to run wild in SSUP Country! Deserve to be killed!" James Brown snorted coldly, his body moved like a fleeting shadow as he circled the room, the sound of fists striking bodies emanated, then he stood next to Helen Wilson.

It was at this time that the five men fell down limply; within the blink of an eye, James had delivered a punch to each of them, but because his movements were so fast, it seemed as though only one punch had been thrown.

"I don’t want others to know that I did this," James Brown said indifferently, then turned to leave.

"Wait, you don’t want others to know you did it, but how do I explain this?" Helen Wilson quickly called out.

James Brown turned to look at Helen, frowning slightly, and said: "These people were resisting arrest. In the fight, you accidentally killed them while trying to hold back. It’s that simple."

"But... but..."

"There are no ’buts’. If you still want me to help you in the future, you’d better do as I say."

Having said that, James Brown had already swiftly left the shop. When Helen Wilson chased after him, she could no longer see him.

This left Helen Wilson feeling a bit lost. This Mysterious Figure always appeared when she was in the most dangerous situations. She wondered if he was watching her around the clock.

"Ah!" The thought suddenly made Helen’s face turn red with embarrassment, to think that when she and James were fooling around, this Mysterious Figure could have seen them.

"Thud!" Helen’s foot kicked something on the ground, and she quickly looked down to see that it was a box of condoms.

The presence of this item here wasn’t surprising, but something felt off to Helen—it seemed as though the box of condoms had been dropped by the Mysterious Figure.

"No way, does this Mysterious Figure actually use these?" Holding the box of condoms, Helen couldn’t help but be immensely surprised.

"Director Lewis! What... what happened here?" The voice of a police colleague brought Helen back to reality, and she quickly stuffed the box of condoms into her pocket.

"Are you alright?" Helen immediately asked the officer.

"Just a bit dizzy, ah, these people..." The officer, now noticing the bodies sprawled on the ground, saw more than a dozen people downed, including their colleagues and six criminals.

Thinking of the Mysterious Figure’s words, Helen decided to say, "These men just took you all down, and I fought with them. Finally, I managed to take them down. Check how they are."

The police officer, feeling somewhat guilty, conducted a search, but as he did, sweat began streaming down his face; to his surprise, all six people were dead.

When they had burst in just moments before, there had not been the slightest room to resist before the six people took them down; clearly, these six were not weak. But to think that Helen Wilson had killed all of them on her own, she was like the Queen Rose straight out of a TV drama - incredibly formidable indeed.

At this point, the other police officers gradually regained consciousness, each making the same discovery: all six criminals were dead.

Their reaction was similar to that of the first officer, all were scared out of their wits, but they also held a profound admiration for Helen Wilson. Previously, they had been dismissive of Helen’s rapid promotion, suspecting that she must have clung to someone high-ranking for her advancement.

But now, they understood that Helen Wilson truly had the strength. With skills like hers, it made perfect sense for her to have been promoted.

With six lives taken, and the involvement of William Power from the S Organization, Helen Wilson could not just handle the scene carelessly now. She immediately called Director John Harris, who promptly led the criminal investigation department to the scene.

With William Armstrong recently taken hostage, it had already placed immense pressure on John Harris. Such a serious felon had been kidnapped on the way to detention, a rare occurrence domestically, and four police officers had been killed. This weighed heavily on his heart. If he couldn’t solve this case, he was not only responsible but also at risk of losing his position as Director.

But now, with William Power fatally shot, at least there was something to report.

The criminal investigation department personnel were inspecting the scene, where they found the criminals’ murder weapons and several guns. Moreover, in William Power’s bag, they verified his identity.

And, coincidentally, right at that moment William Armstrong was calling William Power. The police immediately traced the call and located William Armstrong’s position. In less than two hours, they had also apprehended him.

William Armstrong used to be quite a powerful figure in smuggling, but he was only formidable in that respect and not particularly skillful. Without William Power, the police found it much more straightforward to capture him.

In the office of the Director, John Harris personally served Helen Wilson a glass of water and heaved a long sigh of relief, saying, "Little Lin, I really must thank you this time."

Helen Wilson, somewhat flattered, replied: "Chief N, this is my duty as a police officer."

John Harris sat down opposite Helen Wilson and said: "Little Lin, these criminals were so tough, the entire police force of YODC City was powerless against them, but you managed to kill all six by yourself, which truly has brought honor to our police force."

Helen Wilson’s face reddened, she gritted her teeth, and said: "Chief N, it wasn’t me who killed them. It was the Mysterious Figure."

"I thought so," smiled John Harris slightly.

"Chief N, you already knew?" Helen Wilson asked surprisingly.

Lighting up a cigarette, John Harris said, "Little Lin, although you have some Martial Arts Skills, you aren’t ranked top in YODC City. And William Power, he was a master; how could you have possibly defeated him, let alone killed all six of them."

Helen Wilson hastily said: "Commissioner Monaghan, what the Mysterious Figure did was indeed against the law. Even if he is powerful, he shouldn’t have just killed them. But... in that situation, to protect me and my colleagues, the only option was to kill them. So, I’m asking Director N to... suppress this matter."

John Harris laughed heartily, saying: "Little Lin, you’re worrying too much. I won’t only not pursue the matter, I won’t even bring it up. Although the Mysterious Figure’s methods are brutal, from what we’ve seen, he was actually protecting you and helping you without any malice. Moreover, we’ve never heard of him doing any evil. Such a person is of great benefit to our police force in YODC City. Why would I pursue that? Hehe, since he helped you this way, the credit is still yours."

Helen Wilson insisted: "No, no, I can’t take the credit for this."

John Harris chuckled and replied: "This case has caused quite an uproar. Now that both William Armstrong and William Power have been caught, we have to report our success. When reporting, should we talk about the involvement of a Mysterious Figure... or should we say you did it?"

Helen Wilson twitched the corner of her mouth, realizing that the Mysterious Figure wouldn’t care for any recognition and that even if she were to speak out, it’s unlikely anyone would believe her. Speaking of the Mysterious Figure could even bring unnecessary trouble to him.

So after pondering for a while, Helen Wilson could only smile wryly and say: "Taking credit for such unclear achievements makes me blush when I think about it."

John Harris burst into laughter, saying: "Why blush at all? If the Mysterious Figure is helping you this much, you’ll surely solve even bigger cases in the future. It makes no difference from you solving them."

In fact, John Harris had considered another possibility: the Mysterious Figure was a man, and for a man to go to great lengths to help Helen Wilson, it probably meant their relationship was significant. Knowing Helen Wilson had no such background at home, what a man represents was quite clear by now.
