...And just as Aaron had said, as long as Aaron’s father decided to support her, she was definitely going to be able to deal with the opposition.

But there was no way that Alicia was going to believe something like this. She had some suspicions that perhaps the only reason why Aaron was so much into her was simply because of lust.

She believed that this was a strategy that Aaron’s father was using in order to take the power from her. As long as she fell into Aaron’s grasp, that implied that Aaron was the one that was going to be the leader of the territory.

Or even if that was not the case, as long as she and Aaron got together, then, that implied that Aaron’s father was going to hold a greater advantage over the other people. And, knowing Aaron’s father, he was definitely one of those power-hungry people.

Although she had already realized that Aaron’s father was greatly against Aaron getting together with her, why could she not believe that this was just a play that the two of them were having? They had to create a façade that Aaron’s father was completely against the two of them getting together.

"Let me repeat myself for the last time. I have said that the two of us cannot be together no matter the situation. So, you better get these words into your brain. Otherwise, the next time that you are going to talk to me about this matter, I don’t believe that we are going to talk amicably as we are doing now." Alicia stated in a stern tone.

Immediately after saying those words, she stood up from the couch, and left that place. She was deep in thought about something important, but with the presence of Aaron, she had no choice but to abandon those thoughts for now.

Of course Alicia meant what she had said. In case Aaron continued to pester her like this, she was definitely going to end the relationship between the two of them. Even if her suspicions were not right, she would not care anymore.

What was the use of having an ally that was going to turn against her at any moment? It was better not to have an ally at all if that was the situation. So, she didn’t mind doing the necessary in case Aaron continued to pester her.

Aaron looked at Alicia’s back with a frown on his face. He had not expected that Alicia was going to behave in such a way. Initially, he believed that Alicia was completely pushed to the corner. So, she was definitely going to choose the lesser evil, which was to get together with him.

’It seems that I will have to find out more about whoever this fiance that Alicia has been talking about is. Then, I would try to make sure that she accepts me.’ Aaron thought to himself.

At the same time as he was thinking this, a cold light flashed through his eyes with a hint of killing intent. At this point, he had already decided that in case this fiance that Alicia was talking about was actually alive, he was going to make sure that he was dead.

There was another thing that he had noticed during the time that he was talking to Alicia. When Alicia was mentioning the fiance, she did not possess much emotions at all.

After Alicia left Aaron behind, she headed towards the place where she resided. When she arrived there, she realized that there was a lady who was waiting for her.

This lady looked young, looking like someone who was in her late 30s. She possessed long brown hair that was flowing down her back, reaching her waist. Other than that, she possessed silver eyes that shined under the reflection of the lights present in the building.

She was currently wearing an ocean blue gown that accentuated her figure. She possessed an incredible figure, but when it came to appearance, she almost looked the same as Alicia. In fact, she looked like an older version of Alicia.

Currently, there was a smile on her face when she realized that Alicia was walking over. It was clear that she was genuinely happy to see Alicia.

Alicia paused her movements for a moment, before she continued to approach the lady.

When she arrived in front of the lady, the lady pulled Alicia into her embrace. The two ladies possessed the same height, so, if a person did not know the differences between the two of them, if they looked at them from behind, they would not be able to differentiate who was who, if not looking at the hair.

After a while, Alicia finally pulled out of the lady’s embrace. The lady looked directly into Alicia’s red eyes keenly. She realized that there was something wrong the moment that she looked into them. That was the reason why she had pulled Alicia into her embrace.

"What is it dear? Are you worried about your brother?" The lady whose name was Cynthia, asked with a small voice. Her voice was also the same as Alicia’s, but it possessed a hint of charm, completely unlike Alicia’s voice that was filled with confidence and authoritativeness.

Alicia did not say anything, but the look in her eyes was enough to tell the lady that she had hit the nail on the head. With a hint of sadness in her eyes, Cynthia held Alicia’s hand.

"You don’t have to be so worried about your brother. Although he was young, and 10 years have already gone by, I do believe that he will be back. In this apocalypse, although it is dangerous, but it is a good chance for him to be able to rise. He should have the capability of coming back as long as he is careful." Cynthia stated.

Alicia looked at her mother silently. After a while, she spoke, "I understand mother. I do believe that we have to be optimistic. But the chance that brother is going to be back is extremely low. He was taken away when he was only young. It has been 10 years, and we have not gotten any information about where he is currently. So, unless we go look for him, the chance that he’s going to come back is extremely low."

Cynthia did not say anything. She looked at her daughter, understanding that what she was saying was the truth. It was just that, this was something that she was trying to tell herself, trying to make sure that she did not sink deeper into the sorrow that she was having for losing a son.

Realizing that things were not going well, Cynthia decided to change the topic. "Is that boy Aaron still disturbing you?"

When Cynthia mentioned Aaron, Alicia’s expression became cold. "The next time that he comes to talk to me about the matter of the two of us getting together, I’m going to make sure that I’ll castrate him."

Cynthia was not surprised by what Alicia had said. She understood that this was just how Alicia was. But with a frown on her face, she asked in a calm tone, "Are you still thinking about the engagement?"
