Chapter 334: Alicia’s Troubles

"Ahem! Alicia, we have already completed dealing with those that had been sent over by the military. But they are going to attack soon." After clearing his throat, the young man finally spoke.

Alicia who had been deep in thought was finally brought back to the present by the voice of the young man. Of course she had already noticed the time that he entered, but she did not pay much attention to him.

But now that he had spoken, she had no choice but to pay attention to him. Of course it was not as if she really wanted to pay attention to this guy. He had already been disturbing her for a while, and she already possessed a bad impression of him. It was just that she did not have a choice as of now.

"That’s good. I hope that you have not decided to initiate a war with the military by yourself, right?" Alicia asked as her red eyes stared directly into the young man’s green eyes. Inside her eyes, one could easily detect the coldness that was present as she looked at this young man.

The young man felt a little offended when he realized that there was no appreciation in Alicia’s eyes. But having already gotten used to this situation, he decided to let it slide.

"Alicia, you already know that I want the best for this territory. So, why should I go ahead and provoke the military anyway?" With an innocent smile on his face, the young man questioned back.

Of course there was no way that he was going to tell Alicia that he was the one who had provoked the military. In any case, the aim of the military was already against the aim of their own territory. So, that implied that unless they decided to give up and let the military takeover, they were going to be enemies at the end of it all.

According to him, he had only made the inevitable come earlier. If they really wanted to get stronger, they had to eliminate the military. But that was something that was going to be a little difficult with the current power level that they possessed.

But he was having a plan of his own, on how they were going to be able to deal with the military. It was just that he needed Alicia to consent first.

Alicia looked at the young man in front of her silently. Of course she could tell that he was lying. But what could she do? She also understood that it was inevitable that the two sides were going to fight. It was just a matter of time.

But to Alicia, even if it was going to be inevitable that they were going to fight against each other, but it was better if they actually gained more time so that they could try and see if they could gain an advantage over the military.

Of course Alicia understood that it was going to be a difficult hurdle for them to be able to gain any advantage over the military considering that the power gap between them was not that much small.

The only reason why the military was not attacking them was because they were afraid of the losses that were going to come if the two sides fought against each other.

Just this city alone possessed several powers. A total of four territories, the zombies, the monsters, and the goblins. All these wanted to be the ones that were holding the most power. The only reason why they were not attacking each other right now was simply because of the danger posed by the others.

"Alright. I believe that you already know what is supposed to be done. Since we are going to fight against the military, we have to be prepared. It is true that we are at a great disadvantage, but we cannot give up. It is better if we die, than submit to the military." Alicia stated in a determined cold tone.

The young man nodded his head. This was a point that the both of them were on the same page. None of them wanted to be under the military. One of them was due to the fact that the military was full of tyranny.

As for the other, it was simply because he did not want to be below the military. He understood that below the military, he was going to be restricted with a lot of rules. But that was something that he did not want.

A moment of silence dominated the room. Then, the young man cleared his throat once again as he looked at Alicia. There was a change in his gaze as he looked at Alicia.

The moment that Alicia noticed this, her expression turned cold. Still, she did not say anything, but just continuously stared at the young man in front of her.

"Alicia, do you consider my proposition? If the two of us get together, we are definitely going to be able to be the strongest couple present in the entire world. Moreover, I’m pretty sure that if the two of us get together, those that are trying to compete against you will definitely give up." The young man stated as he looked at Alicia with a hint of lust in his eyes.

Alicia’s expression did not change after hearing what the young man had said. This was not the first time that he was saying these words. He had already said them several times already.

"Aaron, I have already told you that I’m already engaged to another person. But even if I was not engaged, I will never want to be a couple with you. The two of us are not meant for each other." Alicia stated coldly.

"Hehe." Aaron shook his head after hearing what Alicia had said. Alicia was just repeating herself just like he himself was doing.

After a moment, Aaron finally spoke up. "You are talking about getting engaged to a person. But where is he right now? He was supposed to be here, helping you right now. But here you are, suffering all alone.

I’m pretty sure that if it had not been for me, you would definitely not be having anybody that was going to support you. You would have been the one that was handling all the pressure alone."

Alicia did not respond to this because it was true. The person that she had gotten engaged to had suddenly disappeared. Nobody understood how he had disappeared, but they understood one thing, he must have been kidnapped. As for who it was that was behind this incident, nobody knew.

When Aaron realized that Alicia was not going to say anything, Aaron continued. "As for the matter of the two of us not being meant for each other, you know that is not possible, right? First of all, we share the first letter of our names.

Secondly, just look at us. If the two of us get together, I’m pretty sure that our kid is going to be the most talented person in the entire world."

Alicia had already gotten used to the fact that Aaron was never going to give up on this matter. Since she could not eliminate him as he had not done anything that required to be killed, she could only remain silent about it.

Moreover, she could not be too violent with him. Currently, the territory required as much manpower as it could get. So, it was definitely not a good idea to make enemies out of those that were on the same side as herself.

The only reason why those people that were opposing her had not decided to openly oppose her was simply because of the fact that they did not want to be controlled by the military as well.

Otherwise, they would have definitely opposed her without hiding anything. Moreover, they might have even decided to defect to the military. It was just that they were also power hungry people, and they could not agree to be under the military.

According to what they thought, it was better to be under Alicia. At least with Alicia, they possessed the greatest possibility of taking power from her. But if it came to the military, the difficulty was going to increase by multiple times. But that was something that they did not want.

So for now, Alicia understood that there was going to be peace. But as long as they dealt with the military, she was going to have to deal with the internal problems.

As for the matter of handing over the power that she currently possess to that group of people, that was not something that she was willing to do. She was sure that the moment that they gained the power, they were definitely going to misuse it.

Aaron finally got tired. Every time that he talked about this matter, Alicia would always ignore him. But the same, he did not want silence as a response to him. So, he walked forward, and approached Alicia.

After reducing the gap between the two of them into about 1 m, Aaron finally stopped. Then, he looked at Alicia and asked, "What decision are you going to make, Alicia? This is a chance that I am going to give you. It is not just my own capabilities that I’m offering you, but believe it or not, as long as you agree to be my wife, even my father is going to support you."

Alicia remained seated on the couch. Then, she looked at Aaron silently. Of course she understood the advantage of getting together with Aaron. But that was something that was going to be considered as a short-term. Moreover, she was completely uncomfortable with getting together with him.

She was an independent woman. There was no way that she was going to sell herself away just to get herself out of this situation that she was in. She believed that she was going to be able to find a solution soon.

As for Aaron’s father, he was amongst the people that were currently opposing her. He possessed incredible capability. And just as Aaron had said, as long as Aaron’s father decided to support her, she was definitely going to be able to deal with the opposition.
