Chapter 92: Her Dream House
"Here," Liam passed a bag to Rory. "Change of clothes."
"Look how handy your dad is, Ellie," Rory kissed the apple cheeks of her daughter. She could not control her glee having him taking care of her.
Liam got Ellie from Rory’s hands. He then made a swift loop around Rory making Ellie giggle. "I, Fitzwilliam, Your Royal Highness," he bowed. "...have crossed seven seas and seven mountains to get you these clothes! I faced monsters, wild beasts *cough* monsters, and...a Dragon as big as an airplane..."
He pointed his index finger at Rory who was trying hard to not laugh out loud. She missed seeing the goofy part of him.
"All for you, Madame... You were uncomfortable in the hospital gown and I swore it in my little heart to make you comfortable and embarked on this arduous journey. But my valiance, my chivalry is getting ignored blatantly while this little prick..." He glared at Ellie and the baby smiled showing her toothless mouth. Her little hands waved in front of his face and tried to grab his nose.
Liam could not control his smile seeing his daughter. He kissed her cheek. "This little rugrat stole my kiss from you, madame!" His shoulders drooped. "The pain!" he grabbed his chest.
Ellie looked at Liam’s exaggerated actions and laughed squishing her button nose. The small hospital room filled with the happy laughter of a baby and for Rory that was better than any medicines.
"Oh, dear Sir, forgive my impudence," Rory stood up. "I really should treat the one who got me these clothes," she walked closer to him.
Liam with a wide grin, leaned forward to accept her kiss. Rory saw him closing his eyes and puckering his lips to get her kiss. Her lips curved to a playful smile.
"But Sir, you were with me the whole time. When did you cross seven mountains and seven seas for me? Why don’t you bring me the brave man who truly crossed seven mountains and seven seas~"
"Alright, alright!" Liam opened his eyes and he did not look impressed. "It was Derick," he pouted. "Get dressed. He wants to meet you. He..." His lips then curled. "...misses you," he impersonated Derick and spoke with a deeper voice.
Rory chuckled. "My sour blueberry tart..." she stood on her tiptoes and kissed his lips."Oh, how much I missed your sourness..." she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him to bed.
With a slight groan, he kissed her back. He pulled her waist closer to him and his kiss intensified.
"Don’t drop the baby," she patted his cheek.
"Hmm..." he took a step back. His eyes were misty and in his smile, she saw love dripping. "I love you," he said and went back to the bed.
Rory smiled looking at the father-daughter pair. Her hand went over her heart. She was so happy and she hoped in her heart that the happiness lasts forever.
"Will you turn?" she asked as she could feel his intense stare on her.
"Nope," he said with no hint of embarrassment.
Well, why would he feel embarrassed to see his wife’s body, right?
"Hmpf!" Rory shrugged. If he is not scared to look at her, why should she be embarrassed to show him her body?
She undid the ties behind her and as she was about to pull down the gown, her heart started to pound. As if Liam watching her was not enough, Ellie too was staring at her with her fingers in her mouth.
What a pair!
"I should warn you that I am not as perfect as I once was... I’ve gotten~"
She grunted seeing Liam wriggling his brows. His lips were curved to a smirk. She did not want to show him anything anymore. And she turned and undressed.
"Ah... my dong freckle stopped growing! How amazing? And is that a... on your back..."
Liam kept on talking and Rory tried to hurry. And as they say, haste makes waste. And this, it took her long to dress than usual.
Rory sighed in relief after getting dressed and turned to look at him. He still had a wide grin on his face.
"What?" She asked.
Liam shook his head. But he couldn’t stop grinning. Rory proceeded to clear the room. Turns out, that even if she is the patient, she should be the one clearing out the trash.
"My baby is on my lap and I am watching my wife change..." He said after a few moments.
Rory paused and turned to look at him. He looked content. And she understood his feelings.
"There are going to be many such days for us, husband," she said. "In our home..."
He bowed his head and Ellie patted his head with her chubby little hands. He looked up and sniffed.
"Oh, Liam, " she walked to him, seeing his eyes water. "I love you," she kissed his forehead. "We have a family now, Fizzy...And... Maybe we should build a home for ourselves..."
It is her dream to have a house built just for her. From the foundation to the color of the paint of the roof... From the flooring to the furnishings... She wanted everything to be according to her wish.
Forget the hanging gardens of Babylon, forget the Taj Mahal...
She just wants a house. Not a mansion, not a palace, not gold or diamonds.
All she wants is a house, which would become their home.
Liam held her hand. She has talked about it to him. He never understood her strong desire for a new house built from its foundation, all planned by them. She does not like apartments and those big gated community villas- the ones that would come to sale after they are completed.
But he has the money to do what she wants. He knows that she will offer the help she can. They will have to choose a place to start their family.
But before that, he needs to talk about the trouble he is in.
"Cherry," he held her hand. "I have to talk to you about something important."
"Okay," Rory sat beside him. He looked serious.
"I am in a deep~"
His voice was interested in a knock on the door.
"Fizzy, what is it?" Rory held his hand. He looked distracted now.
"It must be Derick," Liam forced a smile. And then his eyes ended up on Ellie. He chuckled.
"You talk to him, Cherry. I’ll bring Ellie out for a walk in the garden," he stood up. He had a skip in his step. "I saw Burke there..." He hummed silently.
"Burke? Is he sick?" Rory asked.
"Are you worried about your first love, love?" Liam stopped and turned at her. His eyes were menacing.
"First love?" Rory shrugged. "He was like my third or fourth crush."
"Crush?" Liam smiled as if he was pleased. But then he furrowed his brows. "Wait...he was your third crush? Who were the other two?"
Rory gulped.
She didn’t want to tell this jealous guy the truth.
