Chapter 79: Found The Ring

"Tell me, Cherry," he held her wrists and pressed them on her abdomen. He leaned over her covering her. His cheek rubbed on her cheek as he whispered in her ear.

"Have you, or have you not?"

Rory gasped as his warmth spread on her. Wetting her lips that went dry as hotness rose in her abdomen, she hissed. "Idiot! Why does it matter..?"

"It’s a simple question, Cherry," he whispered pleased with her reaction. His hand slipped inside her shirt and gently reached for her bra strap.

"I have!" She shouted. Lie as it may, she thought it would convince him to back off. "From the bottle," she added to add credibility to her claim.

"You have?" He paused and looked at her. And then his lips curved to a smirk as if he figured out that she lied.

The pouring rain annoyed her with the cold, but Rory was surprised as his annoying smirk warmed her.

"Won’t taste the same in the bottle," he said and before she could get what he was saying, he bowed pulling up her shirt.

Rory threw her head back and before she hit her head on the hard surface of the bark of the tree, his hand supported her head.

She felt his soft lips on her chest snd before she knew it his tongue swirled around and started suckling her teats. She let out a moan and clutched the hair on the back of his head.

"You’re a jerk..." She closed her eyes biting her lips. "You don’t want me and yet you use me as you please."

She opened her eyes as she felt him leave her. He raised his head and hovered on top of her. His misty eyes met with hers as the tip of his nose grazed over hers.

Rory’s heart started to point wondering if she angered him. But she was not sorry she said what she said. If he wants to divorce her, he cannot act this way around her.

"I~"

Her words were swallowed by his lips. A thick white liquid trickled from the corner of her lips and she swallowed what was transferred to her mouth from his mouth.

"It tastes different, doesn’t it," he caressed her forehead. "Want more?"

Rory averted her eyes from his. She didn’t know what to feel about it. "Get off me, idiot!" She gritted her teeth and tried to push him off of her.

He chuckled laying on top of her. "It’s always fun being with you, Cherry..." He kissed the nook of her neck.

Rory stared through the little holes through the branches, not answering him. The rain was still pouring. She could not say the time for a long time but she guessed it should be closer to sunset now.

Oh, Ellie... I will come to you soon... Your dad will bring me there safely...

She didn’t feel right. Other than the sound of rain, there was no other sound. There were no sounds of bugs, no sounds of little animals running around and there was not even a little chirp from birds.

She didn’t remember it was this silent before.

Anyone with a little knowledge about forests would know that when there is silence in the woods when you think that everything around you is still and eerily calm, you better run for your life.

There is a predator much powerful lurking in the shadows and it might be targeting you.

"...you didn’t drink milk for a long time. When will your supply get depleted?" Liam asked poking at her perked tip.

"Shut up" She covered her chest. "Do you hear anything?" She asked. She thought she saw some movements outside at the distance behind a tree.

"No," Liam shrugged. "Listen, the milk you drink is what comes out from~"

" Shush! There is silence in the woods..." She covered his mouth with both of her hands and pointed in the direction she saw movements.

Liam understood her. He turned and looked in the direction. His eyes widened seeing the figure trudging on the muddy ground, looking for something.

He hugged her.

He...the thing that was walking towards them... Liam was not sure if it was a human. But it was obviously a male. He was not wearing any clothes and was around five feet tall. His body was very pale to the extent it looked grey and he walked with two stick-like legs. His hands looked shrunken like a T-Rex’s front limbs.

There was a metal collar around his neck and a small part of the metal chain was hanging from the collar. It looked as if it was pried out and they heard a small clanking noise as he walked closer to them.

"Smeagol..?" Liam whispered out of shock.

That creature looked a lot like Gollum from The Lord of the Rings.

"Did I will him to appear?" Rory said out of shock. She couldn’t believe she is seeing such a creature in here right after she joked about it to Liam.

Her heart beat in her throat as she silently shifted to get ready to run. Liam slowly retreated from over her while carefully keeping a watch on that creature. That creature, although didn’t appear to be minding anything around, did appear that it was looking for something.

It was mumbling something in a language that closely resembled English.

"...there...here..."

It mumbled.

Liam took out his knife and held it in his hand tightly. "When I say run, you run," he whispered

in her ear and kissed her temple.

"What about you?" She asked. Liam looked at her and without him saying a word she understood that he is planning on watching her back.

"No..." She held his collar and tears fell from her eyes. "Fizzy... I am not leaving without you... I’m scared."

"Cherry," he held her cheeks and pressed his forehead on hers. "I’ll run left and you wait until we disappear and run to your right... Don’t stop anywhere and keep on running."

"Let’s stay together, Fizzy..." She whispered. "What if there are more of them.? Don’t leave alone..."

She begged. She was truly terrified she started trembling.

"Cherry... I promise. I’ll be safe. There will be people looking for us and... Think of our daughter, and run..."

As he was speaking they heard a twig snapping next to them and Liam pushed Rory inside and took a glance.

That creature sat facing them. Rory held her breath controlling her sobs. Her lips started to tremble and she covered her mouth with both her hands.

Liam gripped the little knife tightly. His hands trembled. But he focused his mind.

I will have to protect Cherry no matter what.

"Ahh... It’s here..."

The creature exclaimed and jumped around like a frog. The big, unruly feet splashed the muddy water around.

Rory’s stomach rumbled out of fear. What has he found?

That creature threw a stone near the tree in front of them and started to dig around with his withered hand.

After a while, he lifted something.

Rory almost shouted seeing what he was holding.

Her engagement ring!
