Chapter 284: Chapter 284 - Exorcism
As the tense atmosphere settled in the Bai family living room, Eric took a deep breath, bracing himself to address their concerns. "Your son, Haolei, is not a ghost," he began, his voice steady yet compassionate. "He... He’s no longer with us in the physical sense, but his spirit lives on in a different realm."
Kiyuki’s eyes widened, tears glistening as she absorbed Eric’s words. "Different realm?" she echoed softly, a glimmer of hope amidst her grief.
"Yes," Eric nodded solemnly. "Haolei’s essence, his energy, it’s transcended beyond our world. He’s at peace now, free from the torment he endured."
Bai father’s jaw clenched, his grief mingling with anger. "And this monk... This monster who took our son away from us, you said you’ve captured him?"
Eric nodded, his expression grave. "Yes, but his hold over this world is not yet broken. I will perform the necessary rituals to banish him completely, to ensure he can never harm anyone again."
The room fell into a heavy silence, the weight of loss and uncertainty hanging in the air. Yuri squeezed Eric’s hand tightly, a silent show of support and solidarity.
After a moment, Kiyuki spoke, her voice trembling yet resolute. "Thank you, Eric. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us, for our family." She turned to Yuri, her eyes brimming with love and concern. "And you, my dear son, you’ve been through so much. But you’re strong, stronger than you realize."
Yuri nodded, a small smile gracing his lips. "I have Eric to thank for that, Mom. He’s been my rock through all of this."
Bai father exhaled heavily, his features softened with a mixture of sorrow and gratitude. "Eric, you’ve shown us kindness and bravery beyond measure. We owe you a debt of gratitude we can never repay."
Eric shook his head, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "Please, there’s no need for thanks. I only did what any decent person would do."
As the conversation continued, plans were made to perform the exorcism that evening, to finally rid their home of the malevolent spirit that had caused so much pain and suffering.
In the midst of their grief and uncertainty, a newfound sense of unity and determination emerged within the Bai family. They would face whatever challenges lay ahead together, fortified by love, courage, and the unwavering support of their newfound friend, Eric.
And as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the room, they stood together, ready to confront the darkness and emerge stronger on the other side.
As dusk settled over the Bai family home, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation and tension. Eric had prepared meticulously for the exorcism, gathering the necessary tools and summoning all of his courage to confront the vengeful ghost that haunted their midst.
Yuri stood by his side, his body pulsating with pure yang energy, a beacon of light amidst the darkness that threatened to engulf them all. With each passing moment, his resolve grew stronger, fueled by the love and support of his family and Eric.
Together, they entered the room where the ghost was contained, the air thick with an otherworldly chill that sent shivers down their spines. The ghost loomed before them, its malevolent presence palpable as it snarled and writhed against its invisible prison.
Eric took a deep breath, centering himself as he began the ritual to banish the ghost once and for all. His voice echoed through the room, each word charged with power and purpose as he invoked ancient incantations and symbols of protection.
But the ghost was not so easily subdued. With a deafening roar, it broke free from its confinement, its form twisting and contorting with supernatural strength. Shadows danced around it, tendrils of darkness reaching out hungrily towards Eric and Yuri.
In the face of such overwhelming power, Eric faltered for a moment, doubt creeping into his mind. But then he felt Yuri’s hand in his, warm and reassuring, and he drew strength from their connection. Together, they stood firm against the onslaught, their combined energies pushing back against the encroaching darkness.
With a final surge of determination, Eric unleashed a burst of pure yang energy, a brilliant cascade of light that enveloped the ghost in its radiant embrace. The ghost let out a deafening wail, its form flickering and dissipating like smoke in the wind.
And then, it was gone. The room fell silent, the air heavy with the weight of their victory. Eric and Yuri stood together, breathing heavily but triumphant, their bond stronger than ever before.
As they emerged from the room, they were greeted by the relieved faces of the Bai family, their eyes shining with gratitude and awe. Kiyuki rushed forward, enveloping Eric and Yuri in a tight embrace, her tears mingling with their own.
"Thank you," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "Thank you for saving us, for saving our family."
Eric smiled, a sense of peace settling over him as he looked at the faces of those he had come to care for as his own. "We’re in this together," he said softly, his gaze meeting Yuri’s. "No matter what challenges we may face, we’ll always be there for each other."
Yuri teared up and clung to him tightly. Right by his ear he whispered, "my brother.... it’s little sha right..."
Eric froze up clutching the back of his shirt tightly. " how did you..."
"Shhh..." Yuri cupped his mouth softly. "You must have a reason for not revealing it but... can I ask you something,,,"
Eric nodded dazedly.
"Is he happy?"
"He is happily in love with my brother," he whispered ever so softly.
Yuri’s eyes widened. "So my brother is my brother in law, that’s kind of difficult to get used to,"
Eric hugged him tighter, "you’ll get used to it. But before that you would be chased by a very angry cop,"
Yuri frowned slightly. "Why?"
"It’s because you stole is very precious little brother. Get beaten up gain his approval and marry me,"
Yuri grinned widely, "that sounds like a awesome plan,"
