Chapter 283: Chapter 283 - The Bai couple’s grief
After an hour, the Bai family came knocking on their door. Yuri opened the door to his frantic mother.
"What happened? Are you hurt? Do you feel faint?" She placed a hand on his forehead in a hurry. "Your body temperature is normal... wait, it’s normal. Oh my god, are you sick again? Usually, you are very hot. How come it’s so normal? Come, let’s go check it out at the hospital." Kiyuki grabbed his hand and dragged him out.
"Mom, I’m fine," Yuri pulled her in. "I’m seriously fine. I’m here to talk about something else."
His dad, who was silently looking his way, frowned. "Did you cry?"
"Cry? Why did my darling son cry? Did anyone hurt you?" Kiyuki tenderly grabbed his face. "You have to tell mom, who is that person who hurt you."
Yuri smiled sadly. "It’s not like that..."
Right then, Eric joined him by the doorway. "Why are you talking to them from the doorway? Welcome them in," he smiled at the Bai family. "Hi, Auntie. Uncle."
Kiyuki gazed at him dazedly. "Hi..." She pulled her husband in with a confused look. "Our son is okay, right?"
"Yeah, he looks beaming," Bai father gazed at his son’s face that had taken a pink hue.
"Then why did he call the exorcist here?"
"Don’t know. Be patient." They both sat on the sofa silently.
Yuri joined them along with Eric by his side. "I invited you guys here because Eric has to say something to you guys."
Eric smiled slightly. "So... I..."
"Eric," Little Shadow walked out of the room they were holding the ancient monk’s ghost. "That guy is contained. Can I go back? Haolei will be back home."
As soon as the Bai couple noticed Little Shadow, they expectantly gazed his way. "Young man, you have a boyfriend too?"
"Hmm..." Little Shadow nodded slightly. "I’ll get going then." He disappeared out of thin air.
The Bai couple gasped out loud. "Why... how... where..."
"He is just going home. Don’t worry," Eric assured them. Inside, he was cursing Little Shadow. ’Why did he disappear like that... aghh, the Bai couple is in shock now...’
Clearing his throat, he gazed at them both. "So I called you here regarding your youngest son."
This caught the attention of the couple. They both intensely looked his way. "Did you find any traces of him?"
"Yes..." Eric hesitantly gazed at Yuri.
Yuri nodded.
"I might know what happened to him..."
"What happened to him..." Kiyuki’s hopeful gaze fell. Tears started to drip down immediately. "Is he..."
"I’m so sorry, Auntie," Eric whispered very softly.
The lady let out a loud sob, hugging her husband close. While Yuri’s father was devastated, he still held a bit of rationality. "Tell me everything."
"So... your son was captured by a very powerful monk. I was too, but I managed to escape, but sadly, he did not." His voice started to wane. He did not want the couple to know that their beloved son was tortured to death by that wretched man.
Bai father gritted his teeth. "Why?"
"He is an evil man. Both your sons are very special. Your eldest, Yuri, was born with pure yang energy, and your youngest was born with pure yin energy. That monk targeted your sons because of this."
As soon as he finished, the Bai couple sat up straight vigilantly.
"Both sons? They targeted Yuri too!"
Yuri sighed and nodded. "I was thankfully able to survive thanks to Eric."
Bai father gritted his teeth loudly. "Where is he? I will kill him!"
Eric grimaced. "So this is the thing. That monk is dead. I killed him. But that monk’s soul was too powerful, so he turned into a vengeful ghost and targeted Yuri for his pure yang energy. But rest assured, I was able to capture him and save your son. I will not let anything happen to Yuri. I swear on my life." He started to talk a little nervously.
The Bai family was put through a roller coaster of emotions. First, they found out their lost youngest son was dead, and that their eldest was targeted by a ghost.
"Is that why he has been having those attacks?" Kiyuki sniffled.
Eric shook his head. "He is very special. Normal humans have a bit of yang and yin mixed together, but Yuri’s body is comprised fully of yang energy. That’s why his body heats up and shuts down."
Kiyuki shot up and grabbed his hand in a hurry. "Can you save him? Please save my son. He is all I have. You have to save him. I don’t want to lose him too." She let out a loud sob, hugging his palm close.
Cold tears wet his palm. Eric sighed. "Auntie, I already said this. I will not let anything happen to him. Because..." he gazed up at Yuri. "I love him I will never let anyone hurt him ever."
Kiyuki froze. "Oh... that’s good... that’s good. Is there a cure for his health situation?"
Eric blushed, thinking about the cure they performed last night. Clearing his throat, he nodded. "I have already cured him for now. Soon his body temperature will rise again and I will perform again."
He grimaced visibly.
"Aghhh, this is so embarrassing to say out loud!"
Yuri snorted. "Yes, he will perform a ’cure,’ Mom. It cured all of my problems. Everything’s gone. I feel like I’m in heaven right now," he mumbled, grabbing Eric’s palm out of his mom’s hold and into his. "So don’t worry."
Tearfully, Kiyuki nodded. "Good. I leave him in your hands, Eric. Thank you so much."
Blushing, Eric nodded. "That ghost is currently in my possession. I just wanted you guys to know that I’m going to exorcise him today."
"Yes! Kill him! Let him feel the pain my child felt!" Kiyuki shouted in fury. Suddenly, she fell silent. "Eric... is my son a ghost?"
Eric froze. "He... He is living a good life. That’s all I can tell you."
