Chapter 224 - Tracked down
Chapter 224: Chapter 224 - Tracked down
Eric tightly gripped the thin cotton sheet that was draped on his lap. ’What do you mean it was not you? Who would dare to actually hack into the system enterprise.’
Then suddenly the image of those men in black came to his mind. he tightly clenched the sheet until his knuckled went pale white.
’a-are they here for me? Shit, how did they find me... system can’t you do something like put up a wall to keep them out.’
He was panicking. if the men in black actually found his location, they might obliterate him in just seconds.
’I have too many things to do. I have to get to Yuri..,I have to meet him.. I don’t want to die..’ tears started to form in his eyes dulling his vision.
"Hey, are you in pain again?" a small hand gently touched his clenched hand.
Eric flinched and peered to his right. The young girl, yuna, was looking at him worriedly.
"I’m fine... I just... I want to rest.," he laid down and covered his head with the sheet. tears that he had been holding back dripped down the side of his face staining the white pillow.
"Whoa, are you crying?" her small face poked inside the blanket, peering at him intensely
Erin pushed her head away. "Leave me alone..."
"You’re shaking dude." She gently held his hand.
Eric pushed her hand away. "Get out, I can deal with it on my own,’
"I know but doesn’t it feel good when someone else is there with you when you are going through stuff," she blinked up at him. "So do you like the color black?"
"no.... I like gold.." Eric peered down at her small face that was squished in the pillow. Sighing, he closed his eyes.
gold, that color just reminds him of his lover. in his past life Aaron also shone like the sun, his bright blond hair and his pale-eyes made him look like a fallen angel.
in this life as well bai yuri had that same golden glow. his yang energy shone so bright that he could not even look at him for prolonged periods of time.
eric;’s lisp rose up in a small smile.
"I like gold too, but I hate black. It’s too dark." She said, biting her bottom lip.
"I don’t care for that color."
"It terrifies me though. When I switch off the light late at night, I could see so many dangerous silhouettes standing by my bedside. It terrifies me," she mumbled softly. "my parent’s got spooked and took me to a shrink. Turns out I was hallucinating everything.."
"hmm," Eric silently hummed with his eyes closed. "You scared of ghosts?"
"no, yes, sometimes,"
his fear for his life suddenly seemed less slight with her small talk. The questions she asked never had any context but Eric indulged in her everything she asked him to.
Soon the bed sheet was pulled down, letting in a bright stream of light in
Eric squinted his eyes and glanced up at his brother. Haolei had a worried frown on his face, peering down at him. he gently placed a hand on his forehead. "shit you’re burning up. what happened?"
"don’t know," Eric smiled softly. "I feel fine though,"
"He fainted," Yuna added.
Haolei glanced at her with a peculiar gaze, "why are you lying next to him?"
"Yeah, Yuna what do you think you are doing?" a stern lady’s voice came from their left.
A woman dressed in a white coat peered at Yuna with a disapproving grunt.
"Sorry but he was freezing. he looked like he would collapse again. I was giving him emotional support,"
The nurse glared at her slightly. "Get back to class dear, I’ll help your classmate,"
Yuna got up from the bed and walked out arranging the pleats of her skirt. Her doe-like eyes peered at him for a second. "Black doesn’t look that bad on you. And... I wasn’t imagining anything...."
Eric frowned slightly. He was not wearing anything black. ’maybe she is talking about my eyes and my hair color... hmm..’
That was the only explanation he could come up with for her small statement.
"let’s get you home," Haolei gently helped him prop up on the bed.
Eric was well capable of walking on his own but every time he looked down or even tilted his head slightly to a certain degree that wretched pain came back. he held his head tightly.
"Eric..."
Eric held his head tightly. "it hurts... it hurts badly..."
"What happen?" Haolei cast his gaze at the nurse.
"it’s just a headache," the nurse said nonchalantly.
"He recently got wounded! And it’s not just a headache," he carried Eric up in his arms like a baby and left the room.
He noticed the young girl was still waiting by the door. He nodded at her and started to head out.
The girl followed after him. "He is special.... You have to take good care of him," she whispered.
Haolei frowned. "I know how to take care of my brother!"
"He is very special...." She said in a weird tone.
Haolei just sped up and walked away without looking back.
He hurried over to the hospital.
The doctors did all check on Eric and concluded that nothing was wrong with him and that the pain might be due to a minor migraine. He was given meds to deal with it.
all the while Eric said in a dazed state.
He was sent to a ward and told to rest. With his eyes closed Eric thought of his encounter with Yuna. When he was being carried out, he was in excruciating pain but he was able to hear everything clearly.
He heard what Yuna said.
’she said I was special.....’
’What did she mean special...’
That girl had been weird from the moment he had met her. Sometimes her eyes would focus on him and on a spot behind him. back then he thought this girl had a weird habit of staring into space.
But by combining all the questions the girl asked him he could only come to one conclusion.
This girl... she might possible be able to see ghosts!
’Is that possible...’ he glanced at little shadow. "Did you notice anything,"
Haolei paused. "Notice what?"
"No, I’m talking to ghost boy," Eric cast a soft smile his way.
"Oh," Haolei went about fussing over him.
Eric faced the ghost boy. "Do you think she can see you?"
Little shadow looked apprehensive. "Maybe,"
