Chapter 221: Chapter 221 - Limp forever ?

"Eric! it’s 7! get up. You have school!"

Eric heard his brother’s shout while he was cultivating. Sighing, he let out a huge puff of white smoke from his mouth. "Coming!" his eyelashes had frozen together after his night-long cultivation.

he did not know why, but his body had a sudden surge of yin energy just a few days ago. But since he was so concentrated on doing his daily tasks, he did not cultivate.

last night that yin energy started to roll around in his body uncomfortable, so he started to cultivate.

before he could realize it the sun had risen.

Eric licked his cold fingertips and placed his saliva on his lids hoping to melt away the ice around his eyelids.

After a moment of struggle, the ice melted, and he could finally open his eyes. He tiredly blinked his blurry eyes. a small shadow was in the corner of his room, squatting down.

as soon the ghost boy noticed him awake, he rushed close to him. "You... okay?" he said in a weird voice.

"I’m good..." he gently patted the top of his head.

Eric doubtfully gazed at his ghost buddy. ’Is it because he is close to me that I’m getting so much yin energy? wait, isn’t it bad for ghost boy if I take in so much of his yin energy?"

"You must stay at least a few feet away from me,"

The young boy’s beautiful eyes went wide. His smiling face dropped like a wilting flower as he stepped back.

"don’t take it offensively. But if you get close, I fear I would accidentally suck in too much of your yin energy. if that happens, you will disappear. I can’t let that happen no matter what,"

After hearing his reasoning, the ghost boy’s wilted face renewed back to its cheery smile. "Good...."

The bright sunlight streamed through the curtain and fell on the ghost boy’s face. a small amount of black smoke rose from his skin.

"Quick, hide in the corner. The sunlight is not good for you,"

he had read in his yin cultivation book that ghosts are very weak to sun. Prolonged exposure can cause them to lose their yin energy and eventually, they will just seize to exist.

Eric did not wish that fate upon his friendly ghost.

"Ah, I can’t keep referencing you as ghost boy. do you want me to name you?"

the young boy nodded his head like he was pounding ginger.

"ha-ha okay, why don’t we call you Casper? cuz you’re a friendly ghost.. I’ve seen it in one of my host worlds. it’s kind of funny movie,"

the boy’s mouth pouted slightly and he hesitantly shook his head.

"You don’t like it? hmm, then how about little shadow?"

The boy nodded with an excited smile on his face.

"Aww little shadow, you look so cute. Somehow your face seems so familiar..." he looked at little shadow from all angles but he still couldn’t put his finger on where he had seen him. "ill eventually remember."

Eric sat up. The ice shards on his lap fell to the bedsheet. his legs were completely numb and frozen stiff.

he had to hover it over the side of the bed until the blood flow was finally back to normal. "This happen every time I cultivate. my body freezes up. it’s not good for my organs."

it’s never good for the human body to get extremely hot or extremely cold.

at times, Eric felt like he might get hypothermia because of the cold yin energy he was cultivating.

"I won’t have any health problems because of this right?" he doubtfully looked at little shadow.

the ghost boy simply pointed his finger at something.

Eric’s head snapped that way to see the small table. "What about the table?"

sighing little shadow got close to the table and pointed to something under it.

"Ah! my cultivation books!" he ran to that spot and pulled them out. The yin cultivation book was slightly worn out but the yang cultivation book was good as new.

a layer of dust covered them. he wiped it off. "So, what about the books?"

he had read the yin cultivation book completely; it had a lot of techniques regarding ghost capturing, ghost trapping, and even some techniques about adsorbing ghost energy into the human body and harnessing it.

but it mentioned nothing related to frozen extremities.

Eric paused for a second, gazing at his lap. "Wait... I’m fifteen.... my balls have definitely dropped... then why haven’t had an erection in a long time,"

from the month he came to this world he could not remember a single morning erection.

it was just flat.

floppy...

Eric tapped on it. "Is... are you alive? can you move please.... wait let me think of something sexy"

he mentally thought of all the times Aaron had undressed in front of him.

the familiar scenes of Aaron making love with him flashed before his eyes. His face heated up instantly.

Eric immediately placed a hand on his third leg.

as expected.....

no reaction!!!!

"I’m impotent!!!!!"

Little shadow chuckled softly and pointed to the yang cultivation book.

dazedly, Eric picked it up.

Little shadow gestured for him to turn a few pages.

Eric did so like a blank puppet. he still couldn’t get his mind out of the thought that he might not have a working cucumber.

a black hand waved in front of his face, bringing him out of his dazed state.

little shadow pointed to something on the book.

"Am I really impotent?" he questioned him with tears in his eyes. "I’m just a young seedling yet I’ve lost my ability to sprout. oh, the agony."

little shadow sighed and patted the book once again.

sighing Eric gazed down at it reluctantly.

since yang energy was not something he had, he did not touch this book at all.

Eric read out loud the context of the page.

"Yang energy, inherently hot in nature, will burn everything it touches. When harnessed by a mortal body, it would eventually burn away the organs putting the cultivator in a prolonged death-like state. The body can only last like that for a year and after that, the cultivator will naturally combust letting the trapped yang energy back into the environment."

Eric’s breath hitched. "Yang cultivation is quite intense ah. thankfully I’m not cultivating that."

right below that paragraph was something related to yin energy.

he read that out loud as well.

"Just opposite to the yang energy is the yin energy. the energy that is dark and cold in nature would wreak havoc in the cultivator’s body if its not managed properly. yin energy going out of control would cause the lower extremities to freeze, leading the mortal to lose any ability to procreate...."

Eric slammed his head on the book. "Fuck!!!!! I’m really impotent!!!" he rolled on the ground crying.

little shadow ran up to him and gestured to the book again.

Eric blankly looked up at him. "I don’t want to break my fragile heart anymore. I get it... I’m just a eunuch... I’m worse than a person who shoots blanks... I’m just a limp gun...."

The door to his room creaked open. Haolei stood outside, buttoning up his uniform. "Why are you rolling on the ground?"

"I’m a limp cucumber..... forever..."

Haolei chuckled. "Oh, I’ve got pancakes on the stove. Get up and eat you little limp cucumber."

Eric shot up. "Only I can call myself that!"

"Well, not- so- limp- cucumber, get your ass moving or you’ll be late to school."

grumbling Eric got up from the ground.

little shadow stood in front of him desperately trying to gesture to the book.

"it’s too heartbreaking to read anymore."

"No.... its...." little shadow frustratingly held his throat.

Eric paused. little shadow had his tongue ripped out by that ruthless monk. even in his ghost form he still didn’t have his tongue.

"I read of a spell that could send corporal things to ghosts... can I send you a tongue?"

little shadow raised a brow and shrugged.

"I can try, right?"

"I’ll just see if it would work or not."

running back into his room, he searched for the things he needed. First, he needed to have something in the flexible of a tongue.

Nothing fit the bill.

but when he was about to give up, he spotted a yoga mat in the corner. the material was flexible and it would work as a tongue.

Eric sat down on the ground and cut it out in the shape of a tongue. "do you think this will fit your mouth?"

little shadow sat down beside him and opened his mouth.

"I think it will fit... let’s try the spell."

The spell required him to burn the birth chart of the ghost, along with the articles that he wanted to send to them. Since little shadow was a Jon doe, he did not have any such info. but in that yin cultivation book, it also mentioned that if we could remember the face of the ghost, we want to send it to the things that will appear next to them.

Eric ran out of the room with his fake tongue directly into the kitchen.

Haolei was flipping a fresh pancake in the pan.

"Finally, limp cucumber is out. Come, eat while it’s hot,"

Eric garbed the pan’s handle and directly lifted it off the flame.

"You know you can’t eat it on the hot pan, right?"

Rolling his eyes, Eric placed the DIY tongue into the flame.

"What the heck?" Haolei hurriedly tried to fish it out with a spatula but Eric grabbed his hand.

with his eyes closed, he uttered the spell while imagining little shadows face.

The bright red flame turned black for a second and the plastic tongue disintegrated into ashes.

Eric gazed to his right. Little shadow was holding the plastic tongue in his hand in astonishment. "Well, have a try and see if it fits,"

"Are you talking to that ghost friend of yours?" Haolei fished the pan out of his hand, cut the gas, and cleaned the stove. "Gosh, the plastic is all meted. Eric! Next time your intrusive thoughts win over your logical mind, please take it out the house. I don’t want our house smelling like burned plastic all day."

Eric sheepishly smiled. "Sorry I was anxious to try a new spell,"

"Oh," Haolei placed the pan on the stove and continued making pancakes like nothing happened. "Did it work?"

"It did," a soft, smooth voice interrupted him.

Eric gazed to his side.

Little shadow smiled at him. "it worked!!!"

"Hot darn, I’m a magician!"
