Eric almost dropped the popsicle in his hand/ he hurriedly sat up, looking at him anxiously. "What did they say? Where is Bai Yuri now? Is he in Y city?" he anxiously looked up at him.

Haolei’s eyes slightly dimmed. He shook his head. "I only asked them if they were familiar with you. Mister bai confirmed that you were not the missing bai second child."

Eric let out a deep breath. "Oh, thank god that would have made things a lot messier than I had expected."

Haolei suddenly held his hand. "Be truthful to me. Do you really not remember anything?"

Eric’s eyes shifted away from him. "of course. I hit my head somewhere so I don’t remember anything. Every time I try to think of it I get a headache. So I don’t want to think...." He bit the popsicle to keep his mouth busy he knew that Haolei was starting to doubt, him but he had no way but to lie to him. After he had saved bai he was ready to accept any kind of punishment the law would dish out for him.

Haolei let out a loud sigh. "You are my brother and I will protect you with all of my strength. you don’t have to fear anything or anyone. If you are still scared of your capturer, you don’t have to be."

"What assurance can you give me?" Eric faced him with a frown. in this life, his brother was only a small-town cop. if he involved him Haolei would be the one taking the greater risk.

Either way, in the future he would be going against the ghost general and that ghost witch. It would get even more dangerous.

Now Eric started to rethink his idea about being close to Haolei. He loved his brother for sure and he didn’t want him to be at any kind of risk.

Even if he had to stay away to protect him from danger, he would do that.

"Then explain it to me! Let me understand your world." Haolei pulled him into a hug. "Please let me in."

"I can’t let you do that. It’s too risky. I have stronger forces that I will be going against. You would not be able to fight them."

Haolei laughed softly. "Are you looking down on me since I look like a small twin cop? I have to let you know I have been a renounced special victims team member in the y city for a very long time.
