Zhu Kang felt numb. This alternate reality was too cruel. He did not want to watch it any longer. he turned to the side, half fearing that he would see his lover’s corpse. But he was slightly relieved. The spot next to him was only a dirty-covered tar road.

He then looked up at Altren and his brother.

Their fight was too intense. At one-point Altren even wounded his brother’s arms.

Altren looked coldly at Gwyn with his dark black eyes.

This made him think about the time he met Altren when he was with jake. Back then as well he had the same look in his eyes.

That blank, soulless look.

Zhu Kang sat up. "He is under a love portion!! Shit is it jake?" he hurriedly looked around. As he had expected he spotted jake hiding in the corner watching their fight with a look of glee. "that fucking guy... he is abominable. I hate him." he walked up to him and punched his face again and again to get rid of the fury.

"My lap dog is doing so good," jake whispered softly.

Hearing this, Zhu Kang froze. "Did he just call him a lapdog? His voice... it sounds familiar..." his wide-open eyes fell on jake. "Is it possible...."

As he was thinking this, he heard a loud grunt behind him. hurriedly he glanced back.

Altren had... stabbed Gwyn with a piece of iron rod.

"No... no no..."

"yes~ its finally done. My lap dog will forever be mine," jake walked out of the shadows. "Altren~ come here. let’s go back home," he beckoned him with a bright smile.

But to his surprise, Altren did not move. He tenderly held Gwyn in his arms, looking down at his pale face.

"Altren darling. My honey boo~" jake’s smile faltered a bit.

Altren hugged Gwyn tightly. "He... he is dead..."

"yes~ now come down here~ lets go home. I’m so hungry darling," he coaxingly beckoned him again.

Altren just shook his head. "He is dead... I killed him..."

"Altren..." jake walked close to him.

Zhu Kang watched this drama with a deep frown on his face. "His portion didn’t work? Or what is going on?"

He keenly watched jake’s small back as he approached the floating hero.

"Altren dear. Come down to me. drop that thing and come here to me,"

Altren slowly floated down with Gwyn tightly hugged in his arm. He suddenly grabbed jake’s neck.

A loud snapping sound was heard.

Zhu Kang gasped loudly. He watched jake’s lifeless corpse fall to the ground.

Altren slowly got down to his knees hugging Gwyn tightly. His eyes had turned into a bright shade of blue as he kissed his dead lover’s corpse. "What have I done...." tears trickled down his face uncontrollably.

"what have I done....." he let out a loud sob.

Wild electric sparks flew all around him and a blinding white light flashed from him.

The world turned to dust.

Zhu Kang gasped awake. He shot up hurriedly. The wet cloth on his forehead slid down.

He looked around, hurriedly. He was back in that unfamiliar room.

Ruth was beside him with a bowl of water. He dunked the wet cloth in the clean water and wrung the excess water off. he gently placed it on his forehead.

Zhu Kang touched the towel on his forehead dazedly. "What happened to me?"

"You were burning up. here take some meds," he had him a few colorful tablets.

Zhu Kang refused to take it to form him. he laid back down. "is jake alive?"

Ruth gave him a weird look. "Why are you asking about him?"

"Is he alive or not?"

"he is alive," Ruth added patting his hand softly. "I didn’t hurt anyone from our college. that bomb was a fake. I’m sorry if I scared you.."

Zhu Kang moved away from him. "good." His hand clenched into a tight fist. So many things happened in his dream.

but one thing was for sure.

That dream was not a dream at all. it was an alternate time. it was when he was a system and jake was a transmigrator.

All that he saw just a few minutes ago were what was supposed to have happened in this world.

Back then he had a suspicion about Altren’s and jake’s relationship. It was only skin ship and nothing else. He had seen them fucking so much that he believed that they were in love. But in fact, Altren was being controlled by a love potion.

He sat up and got down from the bed.

"Kang ...." Ruth held his hand softly. "didn’t you say we can stay like this forever. Please don’t leave me..." the man’s pitiful eyes turned red.

Zhu Kang peered down at him. the original Zhu Kang did not have any feelings for Ruth. He used him ruthlessly. He did not want to continue doing that.

Slowly he pulled his hand out of his clasp. "I lied Ruth. I lied when I told you that. I.. I never once had feelings for you."

Ruth faltered slightly. "That can’t be. You are delirious from your cold. A long rest will clear your mind,"

"no. I know what I feel." he pulled his hand and placed it on his chest. "My heart does not beat for you."

These words were the final blow for him. Ruth completely stumbled down with a look d disbelief. "no...you said you loved me."

Kan felt tears trickling down his cheeks. He hurriedly wiped them away. "I used you, Ruth. I used your kind heart to achieve what I want. But I don’t want to do that any longer... I want you to live happily. I want you to find your one true love..."

Ruth grabbed his hand desperately. "You can use me all you want. Please... please don’t say it.. please...." He sobbed loudly.

That was the last blow. Ruth let go of him and sat on the ground with a blank look in his eyes.

"good bye Ruth. I hope you can find happiness." He whispered and walked away.

He was grateful for all the things Ruth had done for him. walking away was the best he could do for his well-being. if he stayed close to him, it would only hurt him furthermore.

He directly cut off their relationship to help him move on.

Being ruthless was a key factor. If he softened up, even just a little Ruth will cling to him again.

Kang walked up to the door and smashed it open with a fist.

To his surprise, he saw a panting figure standing out there.

"a-Aaron...."

His lover pulled him into a tight hug. Suddenly, he froze. his large hand gently touched his forehead. "You are burning up! what did he do to you? I will kill him!!!!"

Kang hugged his neck tightly. "He is not a bad person and I am just sick. Not hurt. Take me away from here,"

Aaron grabbed his butt and carried him away like a baby.

After they flew a bit of distance from that house Aaron landed on a rooftop and placed him down. his hands roamed down his body, checking for any wounds. "Are you hurt anywhere?"

"no..." Kang panted. His lover’s hands evoked that weird heat he had suppressed for so long. He felt... dizzy and wonton. He wanted Aaron to keep touching him. he wanted them to be one...

Aaron cupped his face with a deep frown on his face. "Did he inject you with something? Fuck. Just hold on. We’ll go to a hospital,"

Kang felt delirious. He could feel his mind muddling as he touched his lover’s skin. He softly kissed his warm skin and licked it.

He heard Aaron’s breath hitch. "let’s go home," he lifted him up and carried him away back to their home.

On the way, he also sent the message to everyone that Kang had been found. He had informed the haze to capture Ruth. Even though his lover was kind, he was not. He did not like the thought that someone just kidnapped his lover and held him hostage for a day!

It was completely unacceptable!

On the way to his house, he saw Gwyn hurriedly flying over.
