The image of Altren’s collapsed form on the sofa came up n his mind. Kang shook his head. "don’t know. Aren’t you his boyfriend?" he pretended to be cool.

Jake frowned. "He is my boyfriend. That’s why I’m worried he might be in trouble,"

"Just go to class. He might be running late," he was about to leave but his legs paused. "when.. when did you and Altren get together?"

Jake just gave him a smile. "we were always meant to be. It just happened like magic...."

’so he used some kind of marketplace tool on him.. sweet. I have to find a way to rectify it..’ Kang thought I himself. "oh okay. That’s cool," he acted very calmly.

Something clicked in his mind. ’that daily task and this box..... they are related!!! fuck!’

He backed away from it hurriedly. ’Fuck it’s a bomb! that’s why the task asked me to protect the college!!! Shit!!’

he did not know what to do. The class was almost empty, with only Ruth looking at him with that pitiful face.

"Get out of here," he gestured to him hurriedly.

"Kang.. you are finally talking to me. don’t leave me. please.. you have to stay with me. please..." he begged him softly.

"don’t have time for your whining Ruth just get out of here. I believe that thing is a bomb!"

Ruth’s eyes slightly went wide. But unknown to him his lips quirked up ever so slightly. "Bomb! then let’s go!" he dragged him out of the class.

While he was being dragged out, Kang hurriedly made a call to Aaron. He knew his lover was close but he did not know if he noticed this or not.

The call did not connect. it went straight to voice mail.

’Why isn’t he picking up...’

Ruth kept running pulling him along.

"Wait Ruth we have to evacuate the building! We have to inform the principal or at least a teacher!" he grabbed his hand to puled his wrist out but to his surprise his grip was strong.

"I can’t allow you to...."

"What did you just say? I think I heard it wrong. Did you just say you won’t allow me to?" he raised a brow at him.

Ruth gave him a small sad smile. "yes... please come with me,"

Kang stood in his spot. "no. let go of me."

"don’t be stubborn Kang.. come with me," Ruth’s grip tightened ever so slightly.

Zhu Kang’s heartbeat picked up a notch. He peered at the man who was familiar but strange at the same time. "Why are you doing this? who... who are you?"

"I’m your Ruth, Kang. I’m your only lover... don’t you remember me... I helped you leave that place. If not for me you would have been stuck there and been a dog all your life!" Ruth’s handsome face turned ugly as he peered at his face. "You belong to me remember? You love me Kang. you love me so much..."

Kang just gaped at him. ’oh shit... shit shit... he is talking about snakehead... he helped him leave snakehead. that could only mean that Ruth is a snakehead member. He is super villain... fuck. Fuck....’

After knowing the truth his heart calmed down. On the other hand, he still had his phone. With his speed dial, he called up Aaron’s number again.

His small motion was noticed by Ruth. The man gave him a sickly-sweet smile. "don’t play tricks on me, Kang. I have already intercepted the signal in this place. All you have to do is come with me obediently. I will take you to a safe place. We can live happily ever after." he stepped close until he was close to his face.

His chilling hand touched his cheeks. "isn’t that what you wanted? You promised that we will live together forever. I want that too Kang. my Kang I want that too...’

Zhu Kang did not want any of that!

He kept a poker face as he looked into his fanatic eyes. "Fine, I’ll come with you. You have to spare the others. They are innocent."

He closed his eyes after saying this. never in his dream did he think that he would sacrifice his life for others.
