Chapter 415: Chapter 415 Antidote (2)_1
"Yes, our special operations team has successfully completed this mission. Now, we request to return."
"Oh, oh. Good, good. I will arrange for a military helicopter to pick you up immediately," the commander-in-chief said excitedly. He had originally thought that they would suffer heavy losses on this mission and that he, as the commander of the special forces, wouldn’t be able to escape punishment.
He had never expected that at this point, there would be such an unexpected turnaround.
"Alright, the special operations team has successfully completed the mission, so there’s no need to continue this meeting. That’s it for today’s meeting; you are dismissed." Saying this, the commander-in-chief left the meeting room with a smile, carrying his military cap and documents.
As for those who had argued against sending support, some of them turned pale at once, while others turned dark and kept muttering to themselves. The one whose face had gone pale was, in fact, a drug kingpin’s undercover agent in the special forces, and he was now terrified. He thought that if his boss had been captured, he definitely wouldn’t escape either.
The ones with darkened faces were those who had always been at odds with the Situ and the Loo Families. When they had heard that Situ Che’s mission was likely doomed to failure, they had taken some pleasure in that. They had been eager to see Situ Che and Loo Jie heroically sacrifice themselves during the mission, effectively cutting off the support for the Situ and Loo Families.
But clearly, their expectations had been dashed once again. So when they heard that the mission was completed successfully, they were far from pleased.
Another, whose face did not darken but was nonetheless not looking good, was the deputy commander of the special forces. Just yesterday, he had happily told his father at home that he was about to get a promotion and that the position of commander was definitely going to be his. But, unexpectedly, the situation had made a 360-degree turnaround.
The completion of Situ Che’s mission also meant that Situ Xin’s objective had been achieved.
"Alright, wait here for your helicopter to arrive. We’re going to move out first," Situ Xin said to Situ Che and Loo Jie, watching the helicopter circling overhead.
"Xiao Xin, aren’t you coming with us?" Gao Chengzhou had become a huge admirer of Situ Xin. As soon as Situ Xin finished speaking, before Situ Che and Loo Jie could respond, he couldn’t wait to ask.
"No, we’ll move out first. If possible, when you report back on the mission, try not to involve anyone from The Dark Division," Situ Xin said, knowing full well that her request was unlikely to be fulfilled. If it were up to her brother Situ Che and Loo Jie alone, it might be possible. But...
She glanced at Jiang Anbang and knew that with his inflexibility, this would be impossible to achieve.
Indeed, after hearing Situ Xin’s words, Jiang Anbang replied with utmost seriousness, "I’m sorry, but I cannot agree to that request. When we report on the mission, we must not conceal anything."
After hearing Jiang Anbang’s reply, Situ Xin shrugged indifferently; she preferred to leave The Dark Division out of it if possible. But if it was necessary to mention them, she wasn’t worried. The Dark Division wasn’t an organization that needed to hide.
Jiang Anbang looked at Situ Xin, hesitated, and then said, "Situ Xin, I have a request. I don’t know if you could grant it?"
"What is it? Just say it," Situ Xin said without even glancing at Jiang Anbang. She really didn’t like Jiang Anbang, and by extension, she even disliked his earnest expression. She was afraid she would walk away before he even finished speaking.
"Could you give me a dose of the antidote for the poison that the drug kingpin had?" Jiang Anbang thought that if he could get the antidote from Situ Xin and let his superior’s pharmacists study its composition, they might be able to replicate the antidote. It was possible that the drug could be useful in the future.
Having heard Jiang Anbang’s request, Situ Xin turned to him with a smile on her face, but the smile did not reach her eyes. "Are you sure you only want one dose?"
Jiang Anbang nodded, and Situ Xin generously took out an antidote and handed it to Situ Che, "Here, Brother Che, give this to your team leader." She paused, looking at Jiang Anbang, and added, "Since the team leader only asked for one dose, that’s all you’ll get." Her meaning was clear: don’t expect to get any more of the antidote from her. In fact, Situ Xin was so generous with the antidote because it was impossible for even the most skilled pharmacists with the most advanced equipment to decipher all the components in the antidote. After all, several of the herbs in it were Spirit Grass from her own space, which couldn’t be found anywhere else.
Watching Jiang Anbang out of the corner of her eye and speaking to Xiang Yang as they started to leave, Situ Xin said, "Help me look into this Jiang Anbang when you get back, find out who he works for." She had a feeling that Jiang Anbang was not as honest and well-behaved as he appeared on the surface.
"Yes, Leader," Xiang Yang answered Situ Xin and then glanced back at Jiang Anbang, wondering what had made Situ Xin suspicious.
On the return flight, Baibai had shrunk back down to the size of a little cat and was now nestled in Situ Xin’s arms asleep. It was only after helping Situ Che with the drug kingpin that Situ Xin remembered the issues with Dragon Society and Sheng Shi.
Situ Xin thought that since the boss behind Sheng Shi had been captured, she wondered what the situation of Sheng Shi’s small gang was like now.
She took out her phone and called Xia Yujie.
"Hello, Miss," Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang just returned to the Dragon Society headquarters with the elite and subordinates of the Dragon Society. Right now, the members of the Dragon Society were in high spirits, cheerfully discussing the recent contest.
Originally intending to inquire about the competition, Situ Xin changed her mind upon hearing the lively chatter from Xia Yujie’s side and asked with a smile, "Ah Jie, it seems like Dragon Society performed quite well in the contest."
