Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Space Treasure Hunt (1)_1
Situ Xin looked up, carefully observing the surroundings of the cave. She saw about a dozen luminous pearls embedded in the rock walls, each the size of half a basketball, but the dazzling light that she had seen earlier was not emitted by these pearls. Instead, it came from the variously colored, crystal-like bodies stacked around, which resembled small hills. At first glance, Situ Xin thought they were crystals or diamonds, but upon closer inspection, they were evidently not. Although they looked similar, these crystal stones were far more brilliant than diamonds or crystals. Moreover, they emitted a sparkling light even without any illumination.
Situ Xin walked over and crouched down to pick up a red crystal stone. The moment she picked it up, she felt an intense spiritual energy within it—richer even than the spiritual energy outside, and surprisingly, it gave her a warm sensation. "Fire Spirit Stone?" Situ Xin thought to herself as she felt the red crystal, and information about it automatically came to mind. The Fire Spirit Stone, as the name suggests, contained spiritual energy of the fire element. It was the dream of cultivators who absorbed the fire element in the Cultivation World. Moreover, the Fire Spirit Stones in this cave were of the finest quality. Absorbing just one or two pieces of these stones could significantly enhance one’s own strength.
The information popping into Situ Xin’s mind confused her. What were fire elements? She had been cultivating for quite some time and had never seen any mention of fire elements in the "Dance of the Phoenix Nine Styles" which only spoke of spiritual energy. From the excitement in her mind, she could guess that fire elements must also be considered spiritual energy.
As Situ Xin fiddled with the Fire Spirit Stone, the so-called fire elements within it escaped out, like joyful red sparks converging around her, eagerly burrowing into Situ Xin’s body. "What is this?" Situ Xin was so astonished that she was at a loss for words as she felt the red sparks entering her body, bringing a warm and comfortable sensation that made her involuntarily close her eyes in pleasure.
When she opened her eyes again, the Fire Spirit Stone in her hand, which had glowed red, had now lost its luminance, looking like the red crystals or garnet diamonds sold outside.
At this point, Situ Xin was no longer calm. She hastily centered herself and then checked the Jade Token in her mind for knowledge about the Cultivation World, and any information on fire elements and Fire Spirit Stones.
In a short while, Situ Xin found the information in the Jade Token. The knowledge on cultivation was conspicuously placed, and since she had been practicing the "Dance of the Phoenix Nine Styles" that intrinsically belonged to her space, she had not checked the cultivation content in the Jade Token earlier, except for sections on Alchemy, Talisman Making, and Qi Cultivation. She had not looked over the basic knowledge that a typical cultivator should know.
The Jade Token indicated that the Cultivation World classified individuals into Single Spirit Root, Double Spirit Root ... up to Five Spirit Roots. Since Single Spirit Root individuals cultivated the fastest, they were considered to have the best aptitude in the Cultivation World, whereas those with Five Spirit Roots cultivated the slowest and were deemed the least talented. In major sects of the Cultivation World, individuals with Five Spirit Roots were only suitable for menial tasks.
In reality, such a view in the Cultivation World was incorrect. Although the cultivation of those with Five Spirit Roots was slow, they were actually the most naturally gifted among all cultivators. What cultivators did not realize was that while those with Five Spirit Roots cultivated much slower than those with Single or Double Spirit Roots initially, upon reaching the Nascent Soul Stage, their cultivation speed would soar rapidly.
This so-called Spiritual Root referred to the ability to absorb spiritual energy from the five elements. These five elements were metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, each associated with different colors. Therefore, to determine one’s Spiritual Root, one needed to sense the color of the surrounding spiritual energy during cultivation. If one only sensed red, then it was a Single Fire Spirit Root; if one sensed both red and yellow, then it was a Fire and Earth Double Spirit Root. If one sensed white, it meant that they possessed a Five Spirit Root, complete with all five elements.
Upon reading this, Situ Xin finally understood. She also figured out that she was likely of the Five Spirit Root variety. "With my Five Spirit Roots, if I were in the Cultivation World, wouldn’t I be relegated to menial tasks?" However, Situ Xin also found it odd that her cultivation speed was not slow. In fact, it could even be considered fast.
What Situ Xin didn’t realize was that there were reasons for her rapid cultivation speed. Firstly, she had a "Pure Spirit Physique," which absorbed spiritual energy at a rate unmatched by ordinary people. Furthermore, the abundance of spiritual energy in her space was exceptional; even in the Cultivation World, a density of spiritual energy like that found in the "Phoenix Nest" was rare. Therefore, Situ Xin had the advantages of the right conditions, location, and support. If she did not advance quickly, she would truly be letting down the favor of the heavens.
After understanding what these Spirit Stones were used for, Situ Xin lost much of her interest. Anyone else finding such superior Fire Spirit Stones, Water Spirit Stones, and the like would be overjoyed since these stones meant their cultivation level could be quickly elevated. But Situ Xin did not care for that.
She believed that cultivation should be grounded in solid practice, and that relying on shortcuts, even if they increased one’s cultivation level, meant a shaky foundation which would require much greater effort later on. Therefore, Situ Xin had never thought of using these Spirit Stones to enhance her cultivation level.
Situ Xin stood up and noticed that there was only one entrance to the entire cave. She followed the entrance inward. After passing through a rather short corridor, she arrived at another cave which was entirely different from the first one. This new cave wasn’t as bright as the previous one, making Situ Xin, who had just come from there, feel that it was somewhat dim.
This cave was filled with objects that resembled weapons. Inside, Situ Xin even found a flying device. "Could it be that all these are infused with spiritual energy?" Situ Xin had once considered crafting her own magical weapons, and she even went to great lengths to gather materials. In the end, she gave up due to the lack of raw materials for crafting.
Situ Xin had thought that in this life, she might never get the chance to see magical weapons, yet such a trove of spiritual energy had presented itself in this cave. She picked up a bow, and as soon as she touched it, information about the bow appeared in her mind. This bow didn’t have a name, perhaps it had been crafted and stored here straight away. This bow was extraordinary; it was a superior magical weapon. It didn’t have arrows or a string. Instead, the user simply needed to channel their own spiritual energy into the bow and mimic the actions of drawing and shooting, and it would transform the infused spiritual energy into an arrow, propelling it towards the enemy.
