Chapter 605: Chapter 573 A Missing Move_1

Middle-level gods are far beyond low-rank gods.

Those god spirits who place their divine consciousness within puppet bodies to display miracles in Purgatory find it difficult to compete with strong humans, simply because the puppets cannot bear too much of Their power.

The Ghost Clan’s worshiped Supreme God Zimo says he looks forward to the day when Ghost Mother breaks through the Heaven Forbidden and can face Him truly and directly in the Outer Star River.

If that day does come and Ghost Mother breaks the Heaven Forbidden to encounter Him, she will probably die upon a single sighting.

Only those ancient gods of the Human Race who have left Purgatory for many years and have accumulated anew can contend with Ghost Mother.

New gods, having just left Purgatory, have absolutely no chance of victory.

...

"Ying Yue, Pang Jian has helped us a lot, one-fifth of this Star Devourer’s body should belong to him."

As the Goddess of Cold Crystal uses "Ghost Mountain" to freeze the Star Devourer, she still finds time to speak.

With Her splendid divine body, She lifts a hand and points towards the colossal being, whose limbs are still wrapped around the Star Core, and says, "Exotic Spirit, you skulk and dodge day and night in the Outer Star River, often hiding inside stars and not emerging, because compared to real god spirits, you are still too weak."

Nine radiant ice rivers slowly bind the Star Devourer.

The glittering "Ghost Mountain," which spreads the Rules of Extreme Cold, suppresses the Star Devourer’s body, freezing and splitting Its more active limbs.

"One-sixth, that’s the most."

Ying Yue responds from within the "moon" in the Mysterious Fog.

Her mood is very good right now.

Thinking about the successful capture of the Star Devourer and the numerous devotees from Dark Prison available soon, the corners of Her mouth are slightly raised.

Coming all this way to this desolate star space and stationing above the Mysterious Fog with a host of god spirits, it seems like a bountiful harvest so far.

During the dismemberment of the Star Devourer, She has been considering which powerful High God to find, using what’s in Her hand to help Han Yi solve a problem.

An unexpected change suddenly occurs!

A vast Sea of Souls, with light green waves shimmering, instantly roars into existence.

From the Sea of Souls, the sounds of millions of ghosts’ laughter and joy are heard, with countless tombs, mounds, and mausoleums filling this Sea of Souls.

Ghosts of the dead emerge one after another from tombs, mounds, and mausoleums, as if dwelling happily in another mysterious realm.

The Middle-level God Youkui of the Ghost Clan, like one of those numerous ghosts of the dead, suddenly appears in the terrifying Sea of Souls.

"Ladies, so you are after a Star Devourer."

Youkui lifts his cloak to reveal a pallid yet handsome face of the Ghost Clan, grinning at Han Yi and Ying Yue with bared teeth.

His smile, once appeared, immediately ruins what was otherwise an acceptable face, making it extremely sinister and terrifying.

"Ghost Clan, middle-level god, Youkui!"

Ying Yue’s face turns cold.

She riding the crescent-shaped Divine Artifact, moves above that Sea of Souls, asking with displeasure, "Are you tracking us?"

"No." Youkui shakes his head, smiling as he says, "It’s just that you two are making quite the commotion, moving swiftly through the Mysterious Fog, leaving traces of aura along the way."

"Some low-rank gods happened to discover your tracks, and so they reported to me."

"And I too wanted to see why you two, clearly not summoned, were racing madly through the Mysterious Fog. I originally thought you were after that god of the Human Race named Pang Jian, wanting to kill him and seize the Heart of Winter."

"Little did I expect it to be for a Star Devourer, heh!"

Youkui looks as if he has had an unexpected pleasant surprise.

"Woo! Woo woo!"

The Star Devourer suddenly screeches.

Through the screech, It conveys sections of secret messages, telling of the cooperation between the two goddesses Han Yi, Ying Yue, and the god of the Human Race Pang Jian in Dark Prison.

The Star Devourer is not stupid; It clearly realizes that these middle-level gods are not something It can deal with at the moment.

By revealing secrets that happened in Dark Prison, It aims to incite conflict among these three Alien God Spirits, hoping they will argue, best if they fight.

Only then does It have a glimmer of hope for survival.

"How bold of you!"

Youkui roars with anger, and the tombs, mounds, and mausoleums within the Sea of Souls rise up, section by section.

The buildings that symbolized the destinations of lost souls emitted a light that made the soul shudder, instantly locking onto Han Yi and Ying Yue.

"No matter the situation, the wisest thing to do upon discovering a god of the Human Race is to kill him immediately! If you can’t kill him, then retreat and report to the higher-ups as soon as you can!"

"Allying with a god of the Human Race is an unforgivable sin!"

Youkui screeched sharply.

Han Yi and Ying Yue exchanged glances, both discerning the fear in each other’s eyes as well as a mutual unwillingness to accept the situation.

Just one step, only one step away!

If they had been fast enough, fast enough to prevent the Star Devourer from emitting its soul-piercing screech, they would have captured the Star Devourer and wouldn’t have to worry about any consequences.

But now, Youkui, through the Star Devourer, knew what the two of them had done.

Youkui and Zimo, the Supreme God of the Ghost Clan, must have had a way to communicate with each other, so even if they wanted to silence the matter together, it was difficult to stop the leakage of information.

"This matter has nothing to do with Ying Yue -- it was I who made contact with that new god of the Human Race," Han Yi said, taking the blame at the critical moment and pleading, "Youkui, I’m willing to accept all punishment, with the hope that you will not implicate Ying Yue."

The green glint in Youkui’s eyes brightened, and it suddenly said with a laugh, "Leave the Star Devourer behind, and I can keep your secret. As for the rest... once I’ve dealt with the Star Devourer, I’ll find you to discuss further."

"There’s more?" Han Yi gritted her teeth.

"Yes, we’ll talk about the rest later."

Youkui waved its hand, showing impatience as it dismissed them: "You know I can find you both. Two High Gods rule above, one of whom is from our Ghost Clan, so you can’t escape."

Han Yi wanted to say more but was dragged away by Ying Yue.

The two goddesses looked back reluctantly as they flew away, casting one last glance at the Star Devourer frozen by the Extreme Cold Divine Power.

In order to capture the Star Devourer, adorned with Strange Treasures, they had risked a great deal by colluding with Pang Jian in the Dark Prison, only to have their victory snatched away by Youkui at the last moment.

How could they be willing to accept that?

However, secretly communicating with a god of the Human Race was an egregious crime, and now that Youkui was aware of it, what could they do?

"This Youkui of the Ghost Clan is cunning and greedy. We’re likely to lose more than just the Star Devourer. Han Yi, prepare yourself for the losses," Ying Yue said with a heavy sigh.

"I’m sorry, I have wronged you. Ying Yue, it’s my fault -- I have brought you harm." Han Yi shook her head helplessly, continuing, "I will go to his territory and find him; I will dutifully serve him for some years, allowing him to enhance his power with my Divine Power."

"Ying Yue, he is also a High God, and his attitude carries some weight."

"I’ll earnestly plead with him to ensure you won’t be implicated."

Han Yi finally broke down.

Against Youkui and the backing of the Supreme God of the Ghost Clan, the only help she could think of was that of a High God who had always been a thorn in her side.

She would rather endure humiliation, offer herself up, than to see Ying Yue suffer any further harm.

She must pay for her own mistakes.

...

In the Dark Prison,

Sitting on the shoulder of the Immortal Primordial Spirit, Pang Jian was still contemplating Godhood, Fate, and how to return to Purgatory.

He casually took off the bronze medal from his chest and looked at the "Gate" shaped on its surface, flipping it over in his hands.

"Eh!"

Astonishment shone in his eyes.

On the back of the bronze medal, the character for "Purgatory" in "Purgatory Gate" had become smaller and moved a bit to the side.

Next to the "Purgatory" character, a new character for "Dark" had appeared.

So the bronze medal should no longer be called "Purgatory Gate" but "Gate of Dark Prison" instead.

"Because I’ve explored the Dark Prison and have the corresponding coordinates located, is that why there is a new engraving? Then, is it possible to communicate between Purgatory and the Dark Prison using this item?" he mused.

With that thought, he sent his consciousness into the five characters.

As his Divine Consciousness touched the "Purgatory" character, he suddenly felt a vague sensation... of the Bee King.

While in the internals of the Dark Prison, using the bronze medal in his hand, harnessing the "Purgatory" character, he focused his power to perceive and faintly saw the figures of the Bee King and Dong Tianze.
