The Masked prince
Chapter 95: Beautiful Sky

Chapter 95: Beautiful Sky

"Do you not like Zamorin?"

Regan could only conclude this seeing how unwilling she had been to stay there even for a night.

Evelyn stiffened at the question. She was silent for some time. Just when Regan thought that she didn’t wish to answer this question so he should let it slide, he heard her say

"Yes."

She didn’t like that place. In fact, she despised it. It filled her heart with tremendous fear....the only thing she could feel at that place.

Regan didn’t ask anymore.

Evelyn didn’t know if it was her illusion but when the prince suddenly tightened his hold over her hand and then loosen it the next moment, she wondered if it was a squeeze to provide her some comfort.

But whatever it was, it did provide her comfort.

Slowly, she forgot whatever she was thinking about Zamorin.

They reached the military tents in almost two hours.

Elias was indeed waiting for them. Though he was not worried, he wanted to wait for his master.

Seeing that they have returned, he eagerly walked towards them and looked at Lavo with big wide, and eagerness-filled eyes.

Lavo, however, didn’t even glance at him before he flew away but not before having Evelyn scratch his paw a few times. Elias’s face didn’t look good as he looked at his back and silently promised himself that he would ignore this giant creature the next time. In this process, however, he didn’t realize that he had made the same kind of promise to himself last time as well.

Elias saw Evelyn wearing his master’s coat but he didn’t think much about it.

"Your Highness, where did..."

Elias suddenly paused amidst his words when his eyes fell on Evelyn’s wrist which looked slightly different. He frowned as he tried to remember. Something used to be there according to him.

The next moment, his eyes went wide as he looked at Evelyn and then at her wrist.

"Evelyn, that black band...."

Evelyn smiled softly as she finished Elias’ words

"is no longer here."

Saying this, she caressed her wrist. It would perhaps take her some time to get used to of this feeling.

Elias was of course happy as he knew the reason behind that black band’s presence. He looked at his master wondering if he had gone with Evelyn to do this thing only.

Seeing him full of eagerness to ask questions, Regan clicked his tongue and asked him coldly.

"Why are you slacking? Go and heat the dinner for me and Evelyn."

Elias immediately straightened his back and left to do as asked without asking any questions. Evelyn decided to follow him and help him.

Regan was unwilling as he wanted her to accompany him.

Just this morning, he had been preparing himself to part ways with her. But now she was there with him. He was happy and at the same unwilling to let her go away even for a moment.

However, he realized that his behavior might make Evelyn nervous. She was still unaware of his feelings.

So he could only let her do as she wanted.

However, he silently followed her to the fire where Elias was heating the dinner and sat on a large stone.

Elias reheated the meal and Evelyn went to pick the dishes in which it could be served. As she did work, she struggled because of the large coat she was wearing that belonged to the prince. When the meal was served, she first took the largest bowl to the prince.

Regan took it from her hands and then said

"Bring yours and sit here."

He signed to the stone beside him.

Evelyn looked at the stone and silently went to pick the other bowl that was filled with vegetable soup.

She was not even aware that Regan had asked Elias to make vegetable soup for her separately since the first day they arrived here. Because he knew that she didn’t eat meat.

Elias already had his dinner. So he asked his master if he could return to his tent. Regan looked at him with approval-filled eyes and let him go.

Elias who was confused by his master’s satisfaction-filled eyes silently returned to his chambers.

Under the silent sky, Regan and Evelyn had their dinner together.

They didn’t speak to each other but Evelyn felt as if every single moment was very special. In this silence, she suddenly started to remember how she had hugged the prince back then in Zamorin.

Evelyn shook her head when she realized that her face was going hot and forced herself not to think about it. At the same time, she scolded herself.

How could she do it! Has the shame left her completely!

Regan was watching all her movements with amusement-filled eyes.

After they had finished their meals, Evelyn was about to wash the dishes when Regan stopped her and said

"Leave it. They will wash it in the morning."

Evelyn was hesitant but looking at the prince’s serious expression, she just decided to follow his words.

Having nothing to do, they stood in front of each other without saying anything. Regan looked at her who was still wearing his coat and suddenly blurted out

"Beautiful..."

"Huh?"

Evelyn whispered in confusion and Regan stiffened as if he realized his mistake. He looked at the sky and said seriously.

"The sky looks beautiful."

Hearing this, Evelyn raised her head to look at the sky and agreed

"Yes, Your Highness is right."

Regan, on the other hand, was relieved to see that she believed his words. Not wishing to do anything else which was stupid, he said hurriedly

"You should go and rest."

Evelyn nodded her head and looked at the prince.

"Yes, Your Highness."

After that, she walked to her tent. It was only when she was inside her tent did she realize that she had forgotten to return the prince his coat.

Remembering this, Evelyn immediately came out of the tent but looking around, she couldn’t see the prince.

It seemed that the prince had already returned to his tent.

So Evelyn decided to return the coat the next day.

Besides she quite liked ...shut up Evelyn!

She scolded herself knowing that she was again going in another direction. Then she hurriedly stepped inside the tent and laid down to sleep.

To her, that was the only way to silence her stupid thoughts.
