The Masked prince
Chapter 43: Henry In Trouble!

Chapter 43: Henry In Trouble!

Inside his chambers, Regan was now seated on the bed and looking at the man in front of him coldly.

"Why did she give you the letter?"

"I am not aware, Your Highness."

Henry replied as respectfully as he could. He was also very confused inside his heart.

And when the prince suddenly told him to accompany him to his chambers, he was scared.

After all, almost the whole castle knew that Evelyn was the prince’s slave.

When he heard the prince ask him, Henry’s lips couldn’t help but twitch.

"What is written inside it?"

Now how could he know this when he didn’t even get the chance to read it!

"I don’t know, Your Highness."

He answered honestly.

Why does he feel that the prince’s behavior is colder towards him than usual today!

It must be because of that letter. Henry silently cried inside his heart and prayed for himself.

His mother had been asking him to get married every time he goes home.

Now that a girl wrote a letter to him but he didn’t even get the chance to feel any happiness.

Why does the girl have to be Lady Evelyn?

"Leave that letter here."

"Huh? Here?"

Henry asked in confusion. Actually, he was unwilling. What if Lady Evelyn had said something wrong in the letter...something that His Highness didn’t like then it could put him as well as her in trouble!

If he had the letter then he could dispose of this matter without creating much trouble.

Regan’s eyes instantly went colder if it was possible. He looked at Henry as he asked casually.

"You don’t wish to?"

However, Henry who could feel the prince’s cold aura increasing because of his question never dared to nod his head.

"No! Not at all, Your Highness. Everything on my body belongs to Your Highness."

Saying this, Henry respectfully walked forward and gave that letter to Regan.

"Did you receive any letter before?"

"No, Your Highness."

Henry replied immediately and Regan nodded his head. His eyes were slightly less cold now.

After that, he dismissed Henry and finally looked at the letter in his hand.

She never wrote a letter to him but she wrote a letter to this man.

Why?

Curious, he opened the letter only to go blank.

.

Evelyn was still confused regarding why Ami and Miri suddenly ran away. She knew why Hannah ran away but she didn’t understand why the other two ran away when they were so persistent to give that letter to Henry.

Did she do right by giving that letter to Henry?

She wondered suddenly.

While looking for the three girls, she reached inside the kitchen. She had been right. This was the only place except for the garden in the back of the castle where she could find them.

She saw how Miri and Ami were patting their chests while Hannah was breathing heavily while leaning against the chair she was seated on.

Evelyn stood there silently waiting for them to calm down...still wondering why they came running here so suddenly.

"Just now...we saved our lives."

Ami whispered to herself as she looked at the ground. Even now when she thought about what could have happened if she had been standing there and Martha had noticed them, a chill would pass through her spine.

Martha was generous. She was very generous to them but to them, Miri, Ami, and Hannah she had been more like a strict mother.

Since the three girls didn’t have parents, Martha had always been there for them like a mother. Ami remembered how she had completed all the rituals in her marriage that a mother was supposed to complete.

However, the same Martha could leave one trembling in fear when she was angry.

If she had got to know how they have been delivering letters to the soldiers in the castle, Martha would have skinned them alive.

"She didn’t notice us, right?"

Ami came out of her trance when Miri whispered these questioning words.

Ami shook her head and was about to say that Martha didn’t but Hannah who till now didn’t know anything and suddenly understood a little bit from their small conversation suddenly stood up from the chair she was seated on and looked at them with wide eyes.

"Martha was there?"

Her voice was even slightly louder as she asked this question.

Hannah’s eyes were full of panic when Ami nodded her head. Knowing what she was thinking, Ami instantly told her.

"Nothing happened. We ran away before she could see us."

Hannah sighed in relief when she heard these words and sat down on the chair with a sigh.

However, then another important thing came to her mind. She looked at Mir and Ami and seeing their empty hands, her hands somewhat sank and she suddenly asked

"Where is the letter?"

Miri looked at Ami in response and Ami under their gazes swallowed and said

"I don’t know. I threw it on the ground before I ran away."

Hannah who had just calmed down suddenly stood up from the chair again. She looked at Miri and Ami and then the three girls suddenly looked at Evelyn.

"Evelyn, you were there right? Do you have the letter?"

Hannah really wished that Evelyn had the letter. Her eyes were full of hope. But Evelyn felt guilty when she told her.

"I...His Highness ...came there. I was scared. I didn’t know what to say when he asked me what I was doing there so...I gave that letter to Henry."

Hannah’s hopes were shattered in a moment.

Evelyn’s guilt increased in a moment when she saw her like this.

"I will bring it back."

She said and was about to leave when Ami stopped her.

"There is no need."

When Hannah heard this, she couldn’t help but glare at Ami with red teary eyes. She didn’t blame Evelyn for this.

None of this had happened if Ami had not insisted on taking her so-called revenge.

However, Ami merely rolled her eyes when she saw her glare.

"The letter was blank. There is nothing to read inside it. What are you all afraid of?"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

The three girls asked at the same time making Ami roll her eyes again.

Miri had not known what Ami had written inside the letter. Ami never let her saw. So she never knew that the letter had been blank all along.

Hannah on the other hand was looking at Ami in a daze. She didn’t seem to believe what Ami said just now.

Ami glared at her when she saw this and said

"Do you really think I am as stupid as you?"

Surprisingly, Hannah believed Ami’s words after she heard these words.

"Ami, I love you."

She shouted suddenly as she threw herself at Ami and hugged her tightly.

"Hey...why are you being so clingy?"

Hannah didn’t care and continued to hug her while Evelyn sighed in relief.

She no longer felt guilty towards Hannah.

The letter was blank.

So everything should be alright, right?
