Regan’s frown went deeper when he saw Peri but he didn’t say anything just because of Evelyn. However, he remembered that it was Peri who gave these suggestions to Evelyn.

On the other hand, Evelyn was surprised to see Peri as well.

"Peri, you also woke up?"

Peri smiled as she walked to Evelyn and said

"Yes. I thought of seeing the gifts once and ensuring that everything is alright. I would never want anyone to humiliate you if anything went wrong."

Evelyn felt touched by these words and smiled softly, however, Regan continued to frown.

"Who will dare to humiliate my wife?"

He asked coldly and Peri got startled. She didn’t know what she should say as she looked at Regan’s cold eyes.

His silver mask only added a new fear inside her heart but she gathered her courage and tried to answer.

"Your Highness...I just...Evelyn is my friend. There will be many people in the banquet today so..."

Regan didn’t even let Peri complete his words. He looked at Evelyn and said calmly

"Evelyn, you don’t need to worry about all this. No one will dare to say anything against you. I won’t let them."

Evelyn sighed but nodded her head immediately to calm down Regan.

"Yes, Your Highness."

On the other hand, Peri smiled tightly on hearing Regan’s words. Any woman who would hear such a word from her husband that too from a prince would be on the ninth cloud in the sky.

She wondered how Evelyn got so lucky while she ...she had Raphael written in her fate who never looked for her except when he needed someone whom he could humiliate.

Raphael was cruel when it came to his own pleasure. He would never care about her. She had been actually relieved when she got to know that he was dead.

However, she had not expected to be sold again like a slave.

Fortunately, she used her mind and came here.

Evelyn was taken back to their room by Regan to go back to sleep while Peri could only watch them. She stood there for a long time before walking back to her room.

It was around an hour later when Evelyn woke up again

Isla helped her in getting ready for the banquet.

Around an hour later, she was walking down the stairs in her dress with Isla’s help. She felt excited when she saw Regan’s eyes on her.

Regan held her hand firmly and leaned down to kiss her cheek which left Evelyn stunned. Seeing her expression, he smirked and whispered

"My wife looks beautiful."

Because of these words, Evelyn’s cheeks were dyed with red color the whole way to the Royal Palace.

However, Rex was silent during the whole ride which was very unusual.

In less than an hour, they reached the Royal Palace and Regan helped Evelyn in getting down from the carriage.

"I will enter sometime later."

Evelyn looked at Rex who said these words and then walked away. She looked at his back with concern-filled eyes but Regan held her waist which brought her out of her thoughts.

She raised her head to look at him and heard him say

"Give him time. He will be alright."

But what happened?

Evelyn wanted to ask but they needed to step inside as the Royal guard had already made an announcement.

Once inside the banquet hall, Evelyn maintained a polite smile on her lips.

Evelyn wondered if they would go to see Derrick first like last time.

They didn’t go.

Instead, Regan led her to the corner and then sighed a servant to come there. Then he picked a plate of pastry which was in the tray held by the servant and asked Evelyn

"Do you want something else?"

Evelyn shook her head immediately. It was already embarrassing to have something to eat as soon as they stepped inside.

However, she couldn’t put down the pastry back as she was aware of many gazes on herself. But after the servant left, she looked at Regan helplessly.

Regan ignored her gaze and said calmly

"You didn’t have enough during breakfast."

That was right. She was too anxious about the banquet arrangements so she didn’t have her breakfast properly. Evelyn was nervous because she was alone this time.

Last time she had Lady Bennett and her friend who helped her but this time she was alone.

She felt touched that Regan noticed such a small thing. After that, she had her pastry silently never thinking about what others will say.

When she was having her pastry, a few ministers came and invited Regan to come with them and have some drinks.

Regan refused immediately.

However, the ministers didn’t look disappointed and tried again

"Your Highness should join us. His Highnesses Prince Rex and Prince Richard are also there."

When Evelyn saw that Regan was about to refuse again, she held his hand and signed him to go. She was worried that he was not leaving because of her.

She could manage on her own now. There was no longer Arthur or Raphael who could harm her.

"Your Highness should go. I also wish to go and make some friends."

Regan frowned when he heard this.

He looked at the persistent ministers and then at Evelyn as he said

"If anyone upsets you, you just need to whisper Lavo’s name and he will be here. You also don’t need to stay silent and bear it. Do anything you want. I will handle it."

Evelyn was quite shocked when she heard this.

But Regan only patted her cheek before he left with the ministers. As she looked at his back, and Evelyn felt warmth filling up her heart.

What her prince said was so different from what she heard from Peri. Peri told her that she needs to adjust herself amongst the noble ladies, she need to learn their ways otherwise she would humiliate herself as well as Regan.

With Regan’s words, she actually felt her anxious heart calm down.

Because she realized that she was worried about nothing. Regan never cared about all these things.

With a light heart, Evelyn felt more relaxed.

As she stood there and had her pastry, she suddenly heard a voice.

"Would Your Highness mind if I accompany Your Highness?"
