Chapter 262: Arthur’s End

Arthur left the village after killing his parents. He searched for Evelyn everywhere but he couldn’t find her.

In the end, he was found by a man who knew a spell that could control people’s minds.

The man trained Arthur and taught him a spell for his own special purpose...never expecting that Arthur would blind his eyes and then run away.

In the end, Arthur reached the Royal City of Zamrin. He used some tactics and met crown prince William.

William was surprised when he found out about Arthur’s spells. He had not seen it for the first time but he was surprised to see that someone could do it.

It was because William had also tried to learn spells and magic at one point of his life but his body was not able to do so.

In fact, the present structure of a human being didn’t allow him to gather mana inside his body and hence they couldn’t perform spells. The reason behind the extinction of wizards and witches was also because of this changing structure.

However, Arthur had made his body like that for the past few years and he could let the mana gather inside his body.

Hence, William put a deal in front of Arthur.

William knew someone who could teach Arthur many spells but he would grant such a privilege to Arthur only when the latter would agree to bind his life with Arthur.

William was very clever. He knew that those spells could have grave consequences and he didn’t want that in the end, when he would make Arthur powerful the latter would put his spells on William only and use him as his puppet.

So he proposed such a deal.

In the end, Arthur agreed.

He wanted to gain more powers and look for Evelyn with William’s help. So he agreed.

Hence, Arthur learned all the spells but his life was now bound with William. If William died then Arthur would die. At the same time, William was immune from any kind of spell Arthur could put.

Whilst in the eyes of others, Crown Prince William suddenly gained a best friend named Arthur.

Arthur’s reputation increased in Zamorin as time passed and he climbed the ladder faster than any noble minister did ever.

However, he never found Evelyn.

Then came the war and he had to fight because that was what William wanted.

But they were defeated by Alfaros in the end.

William and Arthur were forced to flee. Arthur could have easily used his spells to win the war at that time, however, he didn’t want others to know about his powers.

He used them on a single opponent but there were many soldiers so he didn’t use his powers.

However, after a few months of staying hidden, Arthur suddenly wondered if Evelyn was in some other Empire.

Hence, he decided to look for Evelyn in other empires but for that, he had to convince William.

William agreed but not before demanding that he start from Alfaros first and also help him win not only Zamorin back but Alfaros as well.

In the end, Arthur gritted his teeth and agreed.

That was how he came to Alfaros in the form of a friend while his purpose was completely different.

Since the moment he had killed Oliver, Arthur had promised himself that he would never let go of things he wanted.

But Evelyn still stayed the person he couldn’t get.

He wedded her but could never get her in reality.

First, it was because of Gianna who sold Evelyn and then it was because of the person seated in front of him.

Arthur’s blood was boiling as he looked at Regan but he couldn’t do anything except glare.

Because now Regan knew his weakness.

Two soldiers had their swords on William’s neck and they would kill William which meant Arthur as well if the latter tried to be intelligent and do something.

Regan smiled knowing how Arthur was feeling.

He pushed the same paper in front of Arthur that Rex had given him before and said coldly

"Write on it whatever I tell you if you want to stay alive."

Arthur frowned but winced when the soldiers pushed the sword against William’s neck as the pain was felt by him as well.

In the end, he didn’t have any other choice except to pick up the brush and start writing.

"Write that you killed your brother and parents. You also forced Evelyn to marry you when she was only eight. Also, write the kind of magic you can do."

Arthur took a deep breath before he wrote down everything.

A few minutes later, Regan took the paper from his hands and nodded his head in satisfaction as he looked at it.

"Leave William now."

Arthur said as calmly as he could to Regan.

However, Regan only looked at him in confusion when he heard his words and chuckled

"When did I say I would leave William after you did whatever I said?"

Arthur was filled with rage when he heard this.

"You!"

But what else he could say except that!

Regan chuckled again when Arthur went silent, trying to contain his anger.

"You think I will leave you just like that after what you have done to my Evelyn."

The word ’my Evelyn’ from Regan’s mouth made Arthur so furious that he wanted to kill Regan then and there but his hands were tied with an invisible rope and that was his own life.

Regan enjoyed his helplessness. He wished that Evelyn could also see this.

She must be this helpless when Arthur touched her at such a young age when she didn’t know anything when he married her forcefully.

He smiled coldly and then called out

"Lavo!"

A moment later, a loud growl was heard. The tent was ripped apart and Lavo sat his paws on the ground. His eyes fixated on Regan.

Just one sign was enough for Regan and Lavo to pick William from the ground and devoured him as if he had not eaten flesh in a long time.

William died and with him Arthur as well.
