Chapter 261: The Panicked Arthur

Arthur sat in front of Rex and Regan with an arrogant smile on his lips.

As much as he the treaty they were going to sign was humiliating for him as he was giving up on his wife, it couldn’t be more humiliating for Regan and Rex.

After all, they had to leave William whom they had captured after fighting a war and shedding the blood of their soldiers...especially when it was William who had attacked first.

And they would have also had to let go of him, Arthur who had attacked their city. In the end, no matter how much they would try to suppress it won’t take long enough to spread around other Empires as well that Alfaros had to accept defeat and sign a peace treaty with its enemies.

Looking at Regan, Arthur’s eyes flashed with rage and his smile became more-icy as he said

"So Your Highness have thought it through?"

Arthur’s tone was mocking when he said the words Your Highness, however, Regan looked too calm regardless of how much he Arthur tried to provoke him.

That was because Regan was too busy noticing the bruise on Arthur’s wrist which matched exactly the bruise on William’s wrist.

A smirk graced his lips soon as he answered Arthur’s question vaguely.

"Indeed."

Arthur frowned but only for a moment before he said calmly

"Then let’s sign the treaty and be done with it."

"Sure."

It was Rex who spoke this time and passed a paper to Arthur.

Arthur took it and frowned seeing that it was folded. He unfolded the paper and anger flashed through his eyes when he saw that the paper was blank.

"Your Highness, what does it mean?"

Arthur almost glared at Rex but the latter shrugged his shoulders without saying anything. His actions irritated Arthur more and he stood up with so much force that the chair he was seated on fell down because of the impact.

"Is this some sort of joke?! I thought that the two princes were intelligent enough to know when to be serious and when to behave like children."

There were only two soldiers from Regan and Rex’s side inside the tent and they looked furious seeing how Arthur was talking to the princes.

However, they could only stay silent when Rex glanced at them and signed them not to do anything.

Then, Rex looked at Arthur and said

"Sir Arthur gets angry easily."

Rex sighed as he looked bored while leaning against the headrest of his seat. Regan enjoyed the annoyance spreading on Arthur’s face before he also stood up and said calmly

"Sir Arthur needn’t worry. I just need to check something."

Arthur frowned at these words but then the next moment, he saw Regan kicking William down the chair the latter was seated on and then clutching the throat of William as if he wanted to kill the latter.

"Regan!"

Arthur shouted in an anger-filled voice but he couldn’t say anything after that because soon he also started to feel suffocated. Red marks began to appear on the skin of his throat.

The soldiers who were from Arthur’s side inside the tent at present were also very shocked and surprised.

They stepped forward to help Arthur when they saw him falling down to the floor while trying hard to breathe.

However, they didn’t understand anything.

"We need a physician!"

One of them shouted not understanding what was happening to Arthur.

"Physician is here!"

Rex and Regan looked at Dan who suddenly had entered the tent and said these words.

Dan just entered so he didn’t know much about what was going on but there was an expression of urgency on his face.

He saw Arthur lying down on the floor with a red face as the letter gasped breathlessly but he only glanced at him before he walked towards Rex and sat down on the hair most near to the latter.

Rex raised his eyebrows at Dan’s actions at the same slightly amused.

Did the old man even know what was going on here that he suddenly barged in inside?

He had heard from Regan that while returning to Mazic from the border, Dan suddenly separated from them and departed for some other village.

From his clothes which looked shabby, it seemed that he just returned and hence he might not know anything.

However, Dan didn’t even look curious to know anything. He signed Rex to come closer which the latter did and heard Dan say

"Your Highness, I went to the village I had talked about and then to my master’s house. Guess what...I found a book written by my master. I had great knowledge about magic and spells. Apparently, a magician had to gather a lot of mana before he can perform spells. So Arthur’s body had mana. I came here hurriedly after knowing this because I was afraid that His Highness would feed Arthur to Lavo. If that happened, the mana from Arthur’s body would destroy Lavo."

Rex was shocked to know all this. At the same time, he felt thankful that nothing like that happened.

He knew that Regan had the urge to let Lavo eat Arthur many times but every time he stopped himself knowing there would be consequences that would make things difficult for all of them.

A moment later, he sighed in relief again as he looked at Dan and said

"Don’t worry. He can’t be killed normally anyway."

Dan frowned in confusion when he heard Rex but the latter didn’t explain much and said

"You go and rest."

Dan nodded his head and left the tent.

He could gather only this much information and he gave it to the prince.

On the other hand, Regan had left William’s throat and now he was trying to breathe in as much air as he could.

Arthur was doing the same.

After composing himself, Arthur looked towards Regan with panic-filled eyes. Because he had now realized that Regan knew everything.

Regan knew that he could be killed through William.

This was the secret that Arthur had been able to hide for so many years. Yet, today it came out at a moment like this.

Things could not be any more unfortunate for Arthur.
