Chapter 247: Can The Spell Be Broken?

Arthur left again and Evelyn finally got a chance to check what she wanted to.

She went to Lavo and kneeled down in front of him. She first checked Lavo’s wounds. They were healing and she was sure that he would be completely fine in a day, however his eyes were still completely blank.

It meant that he was still under Arthur’s spell.

Evelyn wondered if Lavo was still under Arthur’s spell when he was left to fight on the battlefield when he rprince found her. According to what Arthur said, he always controlled Lavo before Regan found him.

Then how did her prince was able to tame Lavo?

It was so confusing for Evelyn but she decided to put everything aside for some time and search for any such sign on Lavo’s body. However, after a long time she didn’t find anything.

So it meant that the mark on her body was supposed to release just a scent so that Arthur could know where she was. But in Lavo’s case, only his mind was controlled by Arthur so he didn’t have any such signs.

Evelyn sat there stroking Lavo’s head for some time before she went upstairs to put medicinal paste on Rex’s wounds.

She was surprised when she unlocked the door and found Rex leaning against the wall. Evelyn was strictly told by Arthur to lock the door if she didn’t want any new wounds on Rex and she didn’t dare to disobey him after that.

When Rex heard the sound of the door being opened, he immediately raised his head and looked towards Evelyn.

"Your Highness, how are you feeling now?"

Rex heard Evelyn asking and merely nodded his head. The truth was that he was unable to look into Evelyn’s eyes. She was trapped here because of him.

"Your Highness, I brought the medicinal paste."

Evelyn said softly when she saw that Rex was not raising his head at all. A part of her could understand the guilt Rex was feeling. She actually wanted to tell him that he was not the one who should be blamed.

Actually no one except Arthur could be blamed.

How could they have known that Arthur knew magic to this extent that he could even change his physician appearance! No one could have predicted such a thing.

Rex sighed and pushed down his robe so that Evelyn could apply the paste on his wounds.

"Where is he now?"

Rex asked a moment later.

"He left."

Evelyn whispered and then continued a moment later.

"I don’t know where...but these days he looks slightly panicked."

Rex’s eyes flickered when he heard that. Could it be that Regan was back from the battlefield?

Rex really hoped that it was true.

"Evelyn, he is not here. Why don’t we run away?"

Rex asked a moment later. Maybe they would be able to find Regan.

Hearing no response, Rex thought that Evelyn was worried about him and said immediately

"I can walk now."

Arthur had beaten him a lot after putting a spell on him. Rex couldn’t even move his legs for the past two days. But now he was feeling better than before. Although his legs ached, he could bear the pain for getting out of here and taking Evelyn to a safe place.

However, a sigh sounded from his behind and Evelyn answered him.

"He has put a spell on the door. I look for any window or any other door which could be opened to get out of this castle but there is not even a single window or door except the one through which I entered."

Rex closed his eyes in frustration.

Arthur’s spell were making him frustrated. He had never encountered such a thing in his life before. He could fight physically but how was he suppose to fight against some spell when he didn’t even know how they worked.

At this moment, Rex couldn’t help but turn around to look at Evelyn.

"In my childhood...I had a read a book on magic, Evelyn."

Evelyn looked at Rex waiting for him to continue.

"I don’t have a clear memory but from what I remember Mother used to tell me some stories...once she even told me that people who can do such spells really existed and she had even encountered one in her life."

Rex had blurry memories of his childhood. He was very young when Regina used to tell him and Regan such stories.

"When I learned to read, I had encountered a book on such content as well...I read it but I didn’t take it seriously thinking that non such thing existed in reality."

"But I remember something...the book said there is always a way to break the spell. There is always people who are immune to it. So you need to find out how we can break Arthur’s spell. He must be aware of it and only you can find it out from him."

Evelyn looked deep in thought as she nodded her head.

If there was such a way...then she would find it out.

The next moment, Evelyn heard Lavo’s growl, she panicked thinking that Arthur was back and again hitting Lavo, hence she ran down the stairs leaving everything. However, she only saw Arthur taking Lavo outside the castle and then the gates closed.

Evelyn frowned in confusion. If Arthur took Lavo then it meant that he must be going somewhere far away from this castle.

Where else he could go?

What was going on?

On the other hand inside Mazic castle, Regan was not understanding where he should find Rex and Evelyn. In the end, he went to the dungeons where he had locked William.

At this moment, William was lying on the floor with blood coming out from his mouth.

"Now tell me, where is Arthur?"

Regan asked William as he stepped on his wrist. William’s face did transform to form a painful expression and he even grunted loudly like animals but he didn’t answer Regan’s question at all.

Frustrated, Regan kicked him in stomach again.

William spattered out more blood but then laughed as if he was having fun seeing the frustrated Regan.

"He won’t let me die here...just you wait. He will come to save me."

William whispered. His teeth were covered with his blood but the confident smile on his lips was never wiped away.

Regan was furious to see him so calm and confident while he was so panicked regarding Evelyn and Rex’s safety.

On the other hand William knew that Regan was worried about his beloved woman. William didn’t know that Rex was also Arthur’s captive but he knew that Evelyn was surely in Arthur’s hold.

It made him wonder what kind of woman this Evelyn was that Arthur as well as this ruthless prince of Alfaros was crazy for her.

Was she so beautiful?

William smirked. He should ask Arthur later to let him have a taste of her.

Regan was about to kick William again when he suddenly heard a voice.

"Regan!"

Regan turned around swiftly recognizing the voice.
