Chapter 248: Would Regan Find Out?

"Rex!"

His eyes flashed with some relief when he saw his brother walking towards her. Rex entered the cell and looked towards William before looking back at Regan.

"Regan, why are you beating him?"

Regan frowned at the question and answered

"I was trying to find out about you and Evelyn from him. He said that Evelyn was in Arthur’s hold."

Rex shook his head immediately as he said ’

"You shouldn’t have done this. He is useful to us. We can use him against Arthur who is working for him. I am sure that Arthur will do anything to keep him safe seeing how he had been with this man even in difficult circumstances."

Regan didn’t say no but there was a deep frown on his forehead as he looked at William. The only reason he had kept William alive was to find out about Evelyn from him when he said that Evelyn was in Arthur’s hold.

Regan’s attention was diverted from William only when Rex started speaking again.

"Evelyn is with me. She is at a safe place. Let me take you there if you want to see her."

Regan immediately looked at Rex and nodded his head.

"I want to see her ...but where did you take her?"

Rex didn’t answer his question and said instead

"Come with me."

Regan followed Rex without any questions while the guard locked the door.

Behind them, William grinned.

He knew that Arthur wouldn’t let him die...or he should say that Arthur couldn’t let him die.

Rex took Regan to his chambers’ balcony where Lavo was waiting for them.

"Come, Regan."

Rex said with a smile on his lips as he climbed on Lavo followed by Regan.

Lavo flew in the sky. The journey was quite silent until Regan asked Rex.

"Rex, did you think about the suggestion I had suggested?"

"Which suggestion?"

Rex asked calmly.

"The one where I suggested you that we should decide on some common word between us. Arthur knows many spells so that way...we will be able to recognise our people."

Rex was silent for a moment before Regan who was seated behind him saw him nodding his head and heard him say

"I remember it now...yes, it is a good suggestion. We should think of one such word."

Regan grunted in acknowledgement and spoke another moment later.

"Why don’t we choose Evelyn’s name for this?"

"No!"

Rex’s reply came swiftly. Then a moment later, he seemed to realize his swiftness and composed himself before he said

"I think that is an easy word and Arthur would be able to guess it easily. Why don’t we go with Mother’s name?"

This time...it was Regan who was silent for a long time before he finally hummed.

Lavo continued to fly.

When Lavo started to go towards the ground, all Regan saw a dense forest. He recognized the area. It was quite far away from Mazic. When he climbed down from Lavo, Regan looked at Rex who was climbing down and asked

"You are keeping Evelyn here?"

Rex smiled calmly on hearing the question and nodded his head.

"Yes...it is safe here. Arthur wouldn’t even imagine that she can be here."

Regan didn’t say anything in response but when Rex turned around and said

"Let’s go"

He raised his leg and kicked Rex on his legs.

Within a moment, Rex was lying on the ground on his stomach and Regan made him immobile by locking his hands and legs with his own hands and legs.

"Who are you?"

Regan asked coldly as he looked down at Arthur who was having trouble in breathing because of his tight hold.

However, Rex still smiled in confusion and said

"What are you saying, Regan? I am Rex."

Regan kicked Rex in his back before he tightened his grip on his neck from behind pushing his face more into the ground as he said coldly.

"I never suggested any such thing which you claimed to remember some time ago."

Regan’s doubts had started since the moment he had stepped inside the balcony and noticed Lavo’s behaviour. After spending so many years with Lavo, he knew very well how Lavo behaved at his sight.

The giant creature might pretend to be grumpy on seeing him sometimes, but there was never once where he didn’t acknowledge Regan’s presence....something which happened today.

And then he also saw a wound on Rex’s wrist...the wound actually made Regan feel familiar but he pushed that thought aside for that moment when Rex asked him to climb on Lavo.

On the way, he confirmed his doubts by asking Rex about situations that didn’t even happen. After that, he was sure that the man with him was not Rex.

"So you found out?"

Rex breathed out with difficulty and sneered somehow.

Just when Regan was about to kick again, Rex looked towards Lavo who was standing silently and growled loudly

"Attach him!"

The next second, Regan saw his own Lavo coming towards him to attack.

He left Rex the next moment and tried to control Lavo.

"Lavo...it is me, Regan. Do you not remember me?"

However in response to Regan’s words, Lavo only growled angrily and raised his paw to press him on the ground. Regan dodged it easily and held his wings.

The giant creature growled loudly in irritation as Regan climbed him forcefully.

Regan held Lavo tightly so that he wouldn’t fall down. He was sure that Lavo was also under Arthur’s spell...something he had not expected. Lavo was a mystical creature ...something that are found very rarely these days so Regan didn’t know that even mystical creature could be controlled by spells.

However, Lavo’s state reminded Regan of how he had behaved when he was left on the battlefield by Zamorin’s army to fight again Alfaros’ soldiers.

At that time, Lavo had been so uncontrollable...just like today.

But he had not given up and tamed him without hurting him.

And he would do it today as well.
