Chapter 243: Locked (2)

Chapter 243: Locked (2)

At this moment, Evelyn was being fed by Arthur himself.

As much as she disliked it, she forced a smile on her lips and ate silently.

"I have been waiting for you so long, Evelyn."

Arthur said suddenly. He continued to feed Evelyn as he spoke

"That day...when I didn’t find you anywhere I was so scared. I thought you might have run away because you were scared of me. After all, I killed my brother in front of your eyes. But it was necessary for both of us, Evelyn. My brother didn’t deserve you."

Evelyn held her fist with her other hand firmly to control her body from trembling. Arthur’s explanation in self defense made her doubt his sanity.

But she knew very little.

"It was only when that woman told me that she sold you to a slave trader...did I come to know what she did to you. I was so furious, Evelyn. And you know...even her husband supported her in what she did....I just wanted to... "

The anger in Arthur’s eyes made Evelyn swallow.

"What did you do?"

She asked in almost a breathless voice. She seemed to have a guess that Arthur would not have left Gianna and Cooper like that only.

Arthur smirked when he heard the question and said in pride filled voice.

"I killed them."

Evelyn thought that her heart couldn’t go any colder towards the man who was seated in front of her.

"They took you away from me. They didn’t deserve to live."

Her heart again stayed still at his explanation. Should she feel lucky that someone loved her so much? But she couldn’t at any cost.

All she felt was fear, coldness and bitterness.

Why it has to be her? She wondered.

Regardless of what Gianna and Cooper did to her, did they deserve to die? And she couldn’t even imagine how Arthur killed them. But she didn’t need to ask because Arthur explained to her quite proudly with the same smirk on his lips.

"I gave them an easy death. Mixed some cheap poison in their dinner the night they buried Oliver and they never woke up again. It was easy to fool the others. They couldn’t bear the pain of the loss of their elder son and hence they committed suicide."

It was not love. Evelyn thought as she sat completely still.

It was an obsession, a craziness...something which only suffocated her.

"After that, I left that place and since then I have been looking for you, Evelyn."

When Evelyn saw Arthur leaning towards her, she had to strengthen herself not to push him away. His face was buried in her neck as he inhaled her scent and she heard him say.

"You still smell so divine, Evelyn...just like before."

All Evelyn felt was a disgust as she knew what time he was talking about. It was when she had just married Oliver...when she didn’t even know what he was doing to her.

"Arthur..."

She somehow spat out his name and put a forceful smile on her lips when he leaned back and caressed the corner of her lips waiting for her to speak.

"I am tired."

Arthur’s eyes flashed with distress when he heard that.

"Of course you must be. Tell me did Raphael again did anything to you? I was desperate to find you so I couldn’t find him to show him the consequences of locking you up."

Evelyn frowned wondering if Arthur knew that she had been hurt by Raphael before as well. But she shook her head and said blankly

"No...he just locked me there with an excuse in front of others that I was taking care of His Majesty."

Arthur nodded his head.

Evelyn almost screamed when he suddenly picked her in his arms and started walking towards a room.

"Wh...what are you doing?"

Fear crawled inside her heart as she dreaded what was going to come. One couldn’t blame her for doubting Arthur’s intentions. After all, he had always been very authoritative and demanding with his touches.

"We will sleep."

Arthur said gently as he entered the room.

There he laid her down on the bed. Evelyn was completely still as she saw him walking to the other side and then lie down there.

So he was also going to sleep with her. But could she do anything?

She couldn’t do anything when Arthur pulled her in his arms in a suffocating embrace, when he kissed her neck and even bit her there. She could only feel relieved that he didn’t go further than that.

She was indeed tired but in his arms, she could find anything but a peaceful sleep.

.

.

.

After almost an hour of staring at the ceiling of the room, Evelyn sighed inaudibly and looked at Arthur. He was asleep...quite deeply.

It seemed that he also didn’t sleep for a long time.

His hand still held her firmly.

She carefully put her own hand on his arm and removed it from her waist. Fortunately, he didn’t wake up.

Then Evelyn walked towards the room where Arthur had gone to bring food for her. She was actually going to look what other things were there. Maybe she would be able to find some weapon ...like knife she would be able to use later.

However, she had stepped inside the kitchen only when Arthur’s shout ran inside the whole mansion.

"Evelyn!"

Evelyn flinched and with wide eyes she immediately came to the living room where a livid Arthur was awaiting her.

She hid her intentions and smiled forcefully as she walked towards him. But as soon as she approached, he raised his hand and slapped her hard.

Evelyn fell down to floor because of the heavy impact of the sleep. Her cheek throbbed with pain and her mind still tried to recover from the shock.

Before this, Arthur had never hit her but she must have been a fool to believe that he wouldn’t do so.

If he could kill his own brother and parents ...then what was she?
