Regan couldn’t believe that someone would cry worrying that they made him upset...when he was not even punishing them for this.

His own father did not care what he felt while sending him away to the battlefield.

Yet, here this girl would cry thinking that she made him upset. How could it be possible!

She was the purpose he had now for looking forward to every day.

"You can never make me upset."

He whispered gently as he caressed the corner of her eyes which were red now. His eyes were filled with distress as he looked at them.

Evelyn closed her eyes unconsciously and heard him whisper again

"Silly girl..."

She didn’t know why but she felt something inside her stomach hearing his voice and feeling his touch. It was a very strange feeling...something she was feeling for the first time.

But before this sweet interaction could continue, a voice came from outside disrupting the atmosphere inside the room.

"Your Highness, what are you doing here?"

It was Elias’ voice and Regan recognized it very well and who else he could call Your Highness?

Regan’s lips were pressed in a thin line as he understood what was going on outside the room. At the same time, he stepped away from Evelyn who had now opened her eyes and was looking towards the door of the room with confusion-filled eyes.

As Regan had concluded, Rex was hiding outside the room and eavesdropping. No one could blame him because he just wanted to ensure that Regan would not mess up again.

He was worried that Regan would not how he could explain to Evelyn so he had decided to intervene to help his brother but when had he expected that he would be exposed like this by Elias?

Turning around to look at Elias, Rex signed Elias to shut his mouth who did shut his mouth but walked towards Rex with a serious expression on his face with hurried steps. When he was near Rex, he asked him immediately

"Your Highness, is there an invader inside? Let me check immediately."

As dumb as his master.

Rex sighed and immediately held Elias’ arm to stop him who was ready to go inside the room. But it was of no use as Regan had already opened the door.

Evelyn was standing beside Regan and looking at Rex and Elias while Regan looked at Rex with his lips pressed in a thin line.

Rex smiled sheepishly and said

"Hehe...I came to call both of you for breakfast. Let’s go."

Regan looked at Rex for a moment before he turned to look at Evelyn and said

"Evelyn, you go with Elias and have breakfast. The Lady teacher will be here soon for you."

Evelyn only remembered now that a lady teacher was to arrive to teach her etiquettes. She immediately felt nervous and left from there with Elias.

She didn’t want to be late.

Hence, now only Regan and Rex were left there.

Staring at his brother, Regan said coldly

"You were eavesdropping."

It was not a question but a claim. Although Rex was embarrassed because of being caught, he said

"Well, I had to. I was just checking if you are doing it right. Don’t forget. Evelyn is my sister. I am looking out for her."

Regan almost rolled his eyes but then he thought that there was no use in arguing with Rex. He also remembered something so he stopped the passing by maid and said

"Move a couch inside my room."

Rex who was about to leave stopped when he heard these words and said

"No!"

Regan turned to look at Rex with a frown but Rex was firm as he said to the maid.

"You leave. No couch is needed inside Regan’s room."

The maid was also confused but left after hearing Rex’s words. On the other hand. Regan looked at Rex impatiently.

"Rex, be serious sometimes."

However, Rex looked at Regan with a fake smile hearing these words and said

"And you should read some romantic novels, I suggest. Perhaps that would help your boring self."

Seeing his brother’s black face, Rex didn’t stop there and continued

"You are supposed to win Evelyn’s heart while staying in this marriage. Will you do that while sleeping on the couch for your whole life?"

Regan frowned as he fell into deep thinking.

Rex sighed in relief seeing that he was finally thinking about this.

He stepped closer to Regan and said in a low voice.

"Regan, you and she are already married. You have an advantage. While pretending with Evelyn, make this marriage real. I know you wish to give her time, but the way you are going, I am sure you will keep pretending for your lifetime."

"She is unaware of your feelings. In fact, I don’t think that she would dare to think of you more than a master or a prince. And she also has a past that would not give her the courage to love. Therefore, it is you who needs to step forward. You need to be the courageous one."

Regan found that Rex made sense.

Hence, he asked

"Then what should I do?"

"Don’t move the couch inside the room."

Rex said with a cunning smile on his lips.

Regan nodded his head and looked at Rex waiting for him to continue which he did.

"Be shameless!"

Rex whispered as loudly as he could. Placing his hand on his brother’s shoulder, he said further

"Don’t leave any chance of getting closer to her but you can’t make her uncomfortable as well. Her being nervous will be natural but if she is uncomfortable then move away immediately. Your purpose is to make her an addict of your presence, your care, and your love."

Regan looked deep in thought but a moment later, he nodded his head.

His eyes were filled with determination.

Indeed, he needed to be slightly shameless.

He would make Evelyn fall in love with him.
