The Masked prince -
Chapter 152 - 2
Chapter 152: Chapter 2
Rex opened his mouth to say something to Evelyn but in the end, he shut it again.
He left the chambers silently with Elias.
Evelyn wondered whether he believed her or not. However, Regan didn’t let her ponder much about this. He held her arm and made her sit on the bed.
"Go to sleep. You didn’t sleep for the whole night."
However, Evelyn shook her head and said
"Your Highness also didn’t sleep...It is Your Highness who should have rest."
Regan looked at her silently. After a few moments of silence, he suddenly held her cheek and made her look at him.
Evelyn was surprised by his touch but when she looked into his eyes, she found herself lost in them...as if all the worries vanished for that moment.
"Evelyn, do you think that ...as long as I am here, he can take you away?"
Evelyn stiffened for a moment as she understood what the prince meant. She swallowed and shook her head. Regan ran his thumb across the corner of her eyes where it was slightly wet and said calmly.
"You are my person. I will fight to protect my people until I am breathing. You are safe here. Don’t even think about leaving, Evelyn."
Evelyn nodded her head immediately.
Indeed, she was being foolish by thinking that she would be safe if she left Mazic. But fear had clouded her mind back then.
Regan stayed beside Evelyn until she was breathing evenly. After making sure that she was asleep, he stepped out of the chambers.
Elias and Rex were still standing outside.
He stood there and said to Elias.
"He entered the castle so easily. It means that we need more people, Elias."
Elias understood and said immediately
"Yes, Your Highness."
And then he left from there.
Rex looked at his brother and said suddenly
"Are not you too calm, Regan?"
He remembered how Regan was behaving when Evelyn was hurt. Evelyn’s every emotion affected Regan.
So after knowing such a big thing, his calmness confused Rex.
But he soon received his answer when Regan smiled coldly and asked
"Do you think I am calm, Rex?"
Rex didn’t say anything in response because Regan suddenly didn’t look as calm as before.
The smile vanished from Regan’s lips and his eyes shone with ruthless coldness as he said
"I am not calm. I am just waiting for the right time. The moment I will find it, that man would not stay alive. He can’t...after hurting my Evelyn so much."
He would store his anger and would use it when it would be needed. But for now, Evelyn needed his care and love...not his anger. Regan understood this very well.
And Rex would never say that he didn’t believe his brother.

The castle started training twice the men it was training before. Though it meant a lot of hard work, Rex and Regan didn’t step back from doing that.
They trained half the men in the morning and another half in the evening.
Evelyn had started to stay more silent. Regan was afraid when Dan said that she was showing symptoms of going into depression.
Regan was worried so he decided to continue Evelyn’s training. It would help keep her mind busy and Regan also wanted her to be able to protect herself...especially in such circumstances.
Regan stood behind Evelyn who was holding a sword and Regan was guiding how she was supposed to move her sword holding her hands.
"Not like this...hold it like this and then move your hand this way."
After teaching her, he didn’t step back and whispered in her ear
"Do you feel comfortable in these clothes?"
Evelyn was wearing the same kind of clothes that other soldiers wore today but it was made according to her body. It didn’t reveal anything but it allowed her to make the movements she needed to make while using the sword.
Evelyn nodded her head but her eyes were focused on the sword. Seeing this, Regan smiled helplessly but he was happy to see that she was so focused.
A moment later, he stepped back and his eyes flashed with approval seeing that she finally did it right.
"Good, you are a quick learner."
The soldiers who were training nearby the same movement wondered if they were deaf. The prince seemed to praise someone just now.
Something he didn’t do ever even when one of them did it right on the first go. And the girl who the prince was training did right on her sixth try.
Then how was she a quick learner ah...
The soldiers sighed as they looked at Evelyn for a moment before they moved their eyes away quickly.
Indeed, Flowers could bloom on hail stone as well. They saw it today with their own eyes.
The days passed like this.
However, regardless of how much they kept themselves busy, things went quickly in Royal Palace.
Exactly four days later, Regan received a letter from Royal Palace ...written none other than by his own father, King Derrick.
Sitting inside Rex’s chambers, Regan stared at the letter in his hands with cold eyes.
"Bring your slave to Royal Palace."
The letter said only these words.
"Regan..."
Rex called out and he himself was frowning looking at the letter’s contents. He didn’t know if it would be good for Evelyn to go there. Like Regan, Rex was equally worried about Evelyn after knowing everything.
Because Arthur suddenly looked like a very complex and mysterious person.
However, they could not ignore the letter as well. It was sent by the King himself. If they ignored it, then it would not be good for him as well as Regan as they were Royal Princes.
Rex didn’t worry about himself but he worried about Regan. Regan was yet to win the hearts of people in the Royal Court. Their next move could bring him more away from their goal...which was the throne.
"Will we go there?"
Rex asked Regan. He felt that Regan would make a good choice right now. Regan was silent for a moment before he smiled coldly and said
"Of Course, we will."
If he won’t, then how will he teach that bastard a lesson?
