Chapter 303: 302. Loose Ends (3)

I returned to my room late in the night only to find the child there waiting for me. He was dozing off but as soon as I entered the room he perked up quickly.

"Master!" He beamed as he ran to me and I frowned slightly.

"What’s wrong? Did something happen?" I asked and he shook his head.

"I... I wanted to tell you something." He said and I nodded.

"Yes,"

His cheeks turned red and he licked his lips as he held my fingers with his tiny ones.

"G-Give me your Blessings!" He said as he looked up at me with shining eyes.

"What?" I was almost taken aback.

"I-I want you to bless me and give me my name!" He said and I stared at him for a moment.

"Now?"

He nodded as he smiled looking at me with determined eyes. I couldn’t help the smile as I looked at him and then placed my hand over his head ruffling his hair a little.

"All right,"

He beamed at that and I removed my cloak before I saw him standing straighter as if preparing to face anything that would come his way. I found it cute.

I smiled as I gestured towards the bed, "Lie down."

He removed his shoes and scrambled to the bed before lying flatly on it on his back looking at me.

I placed my hand over his chest right above his beating heart.

"Are you sure you want this?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yes, I want to go with you. I want to be with you, Master." He spoke and I smiled before nodding.

"All right then, close your eyes."

He obliged and I removed my earstud reverting to my original body before I poured my mana into his heart, his heart responded almost immediately and his mana connected to me. We had the same element so, it worked rather smoothly.

After I poured my mana, I used my sharp nail to form a small cut over my palm and placed it over his lips.

"Drink this." I said and he opened his mouth letting my blood droplets fall over his tongue.

I watched his Adam’s apple move before I wore the sapphire earstud again and the cut on my palm healed.

"You can open your eyes now," I said and he opened his eyes.

I saw the bright blue spangles dancing in his eyes before he sat up staring at his hands and body which was that of a human’s now.

"How do you feel?" I asked.

"It’s... strange... I feel so energized... and strong..."

I smiled, "That’s what happens, and now that you have my essence so, whenever you call for me, wherever you are, I’ll come to you."

"Really?" He grinned and I smiled.

"Yes,"

He seemed happy about that so, I did one final thing that I wanted to do ever since I decided to take him in.

I placed my hand over his head making him peek up at me.

"From hence on, you shall be one of my successors," I announced.

"And the name I bestow upon you is Kai Nereus Ryujin."

"Kai Nereus Ryujin..." The kid tried spelling his name and I watched him as he beamed. He liked it.

"Kai Nereus Ryujin."

"You’re the first one to have a middle name, even the head of the family doesn’t have one." I said and he looked at me.

"Who is the head of the family?" He asked.

I smiled as I spread my arms before him, "Who do you think?"

His eyes went wide as he looked at me, "Is it you?"

I chuckled, "Yes, now that I think about it, I never introduced myself formally to you, did I?"

I took a step back and swept a perfectly graceful bow in front of him, "Welcome to the Ryujin family, Kai, I, Ocean Ryujin as the head of the family congratulates you on making this far and coming to me."

The boy watched me before he giggled and I chuckled.

"Ocean Ryujin." He spoke and I straightened up looking at him.

"Let’s head home tomorrow, Kai." I said and he grinned.

"Yes, Master!"

The next morning, I woke up early and got dressed with Lyall adjusting my clothes for the journey. I stepped out of the room and the child came bounding into my arms. I scooped him up and Lyall watched us as he carried out luggage.

"Let’s get going, shall we?" I asked them both before we stepped down the stairs.

There inn’s personnel had gathered to see us off, they bowed and spoke their farewells, the maid whom I had come across a couple of days ago thanked me again.

We stepped out of the inn and walked past the slum area, Kai looked around as there were a handful of people who were awake so early.

We walked all the way till the forest area and found the four Dwarves there. I let Kai down and faced the four of them.

"Are you all here to see us off or go with us?" I asked.

The four exchanged glances before they got on their knees.

"We’ll be honored if you could let us accompany you, Oh Great Dragon." The oldest one said and I smiled.

"I’d love to." I responded and they looked at me, "Hopefully, you have a little experience of dealing with children though."

The four looked a little confused and Lyall cleared his throat.

"The place where you will be staying there will be Elves and Dwarves," he answered.

The four looked a bit taken aback and I smiled, "It’s your choice though again, if you don’t want to live with those kids then I can arrange some other residence where you could live peacefully."

They seemed to ponder over it before the oldest one spoke, "You are our protector and guardian, My Lord, we shall stay wherever you give us space."

"All right then, we should get going." I said as I shoved my hand in the pocket of my vest.

"Wait!" I heard a familiar voice which I certainly wasn’t expecting to hear right now.

We all turned around and saw the blonde haired man approaching us dressed in a normal road attire and a sword hanging by his side. Lyall got in stance and Kai held my hand as I tilted my head looking at Asher.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him.

He walked over and stood in front of me.

"You said you owed me one." He reminded and I cocked my head a little.

"Yes,"

"I hope you once told me that if I don’t have a home here then I’m welcome to tag along." He spoke.

I cocked a brow at his words, he really wasn’t suggesting this was he?

"Are you trying to say that you... want to come with us?"

"You meant the same thing when you made that offer." He said and I sighed before I looked at our audience and gently pulled my hand from Kai’s.

I held Asher’s elbow and pulled him to the side.

"What are you planning?" I asked and he raised his eyebrows.

"Nothing," he said sounding innocent and I chuckled.

"You think I believe that?"

"You’re the one who made me that offer, are you backing out now?" He accused crossing his arms at his chest.

I sighed as I looked back at the gathered party which was at a bit of a distance.

"You aren’t possibly thinking of hitting on me again, are you?"

He gave me a look and I shook my head.

"Physically, I’m 12." I told him and then gestured at Lyall, "and you see him? He’ll rip your head off if you tried anything even before I could lift a finger."

"Whatever nonsense runs into your head," he said and I rolled my eyes.

"Fine, you’re welcome to come along. But a word of warning, Asher." I said looking him straight in the eyes, my Dragon’s Presence oozed from my being filling the air around us with tension.

"I don’t care what your motives are but the moment they come to endanger my people, I’ll make it so that you’ll beg me for death." I spoke.

The shiver than ran through his being satisfied me before I turned and walked back to the waiting party.

"Apologies," I spoke and gestured at Asher who joined us.

"There’s one more person who’s joining us,"

Nobody had any problem as Asher stood by and I looked at Lyall who eyed Asher cautiously.

"So, how are we going? I don’t see any horses or carriage." Asher said looking around.

"Because we’re not using either," I said as I scooped up Kai in my arms.

"Then how-"

"Stop asking too many questions and just watch." I snapped making me frown.

I pulled out a clear mana stone from my pocket and they all watched it.

"Huddle up and hold each others hands." I instructed.

The Dwarves held each other’s hands and the last one reached out to Asher, he grasped Bonnie’s hand while Lyall held his other hand. Lyall held Kai’s hand while I carried Kai in my arms so that he would stay close by in case the jump would make him dizzy.

"We’re gonna teleport." I announced before I poured my mana into the device just in the moment that Asher whipped his head to look at me.

The bright white light sprouted from the ground and swallowed us all up. The gravity disappeared for a couple of seconds and then my feet found ground.

Except for myself and Lyall those who weren’t used to teleportation stumbled almost falling onto the floor.

"Welcome back." I heard a voice and turned to see my Oh so beautiful Uncle who had his arms crossed at his chest.
