Chapter 218: 217. Templar Knights (2)

I groaned a little as the movements were a bit uncomfortable but I turned a little finding the cold, hard metal pressed against my cheek again.

I was about to open my eyes when I felt something warm and softer hold my head and a blanket was draped against me.

"I hope this will be comfortable." I heard a voice murmur.

I didn’t know for how long I slept but when I woke up I was inside the carriage, alone with the commotion going on outside.

I sat up and looked out of the window to see the people of the town gathered around the carriage and the Templar Knights trying to keep the crowd from reaching the carriage.

"Please, let us see the healer!"

"Please bring them to heal our family!"

"We want to see the healer now!"

Unlike the previous town, this one seemed underprivileged and even the people were skin and bones.

"Please calm down, everyone!" The knights shouted.

"The Healer is currently tired and is resting!"

"You’re from the temple, aren’t you? Why don’t you let the healers come to the poor people like us?"

"We won’t let you through if you don’t get the healer to heal the people from this town!"

"Stop doing this! The Healer needs her rest!"

The mob didn’t seem like they would listen and if I stalled then the knights might have a bigger problem.

I sighed and adjusted my clothes noticing a royal blue cape draped over my shoulders, it smelled of Asher.

I kept it on me and I knocked on the door from inside before I opened the door and the knights who were standing directly outside gasped looking back in shock.

"Miss! Please stay inside!"

"Yes, don’t come out!"

The crowd pushed against the chain that the knights had formed around me.

"A healer!"

"Please heal my husband!"

"Please heal my sister!"

"Heal my child first!"

The people started shouting and I could feel their agitation pulsing in the air around us. I was tempted to use my Dragon’s Presence but then again, these were distressed people.

My Dragon’s blood sizzled under my skin and I sighed as my blood was against me understanding their plight.

I shook my head still appearing as a noble lady as I stepped down.

"Please stop making a chaos!" I spoke up.

"Or I won’t be able to heal anyone!"

"No!"

"Heal my family!"

"M-My mother!"

The people seemed even more distressed and I felt someone gripping my wrist. I turned to see Asher standing there with his one hand over the hilt of his sword.

"Miss, you must not," he spoke and I frowned.

"I must," I corrected, "and I will."

I pried my hand off of his grip before I faced the crowd.

"You will get tired, Miss!" He spoke up and I smiled at him.

"I’m not affiliated to the temple, Sir Asher. I am a Healer who had decided to cure people by travelling all over the towns and villages." I said.

His eyes grew strained but I paid no heed as I walked towards the crowd and placed my hands on the shoulders of the knights blocking my way.

"Please everyone! I will heal all of your family members and loved ones but for that you must maintain some composure!" I shouted making the couple of people in the front become quiet.

"W-Will you really heal us?" One of the men asked and I smiled.

"Yes, I have been doing that for the past month."

"Then..."

They all exchanged looks before they looked at the knights who were still blocking the way.

"Please move aside," I spoke up softly.

The knights looked at Asher who still had a tight expression.

"Let the Miss do what she wants." He said and the knights reluctantly stepped out of the way.

The crowd cheered before they welcomed me and led me towards the place where the infected were being kept.

I used my healing spell there as well and the knights who saw me cast it stood there stunned watching me. Asher’s expression was quite comical when he saw me heal almost half the village which he was forbidding me to.

I swayed a little and he rushed over to me holding my hand while supporting me against his side.

Displeasure was clear on Lyall’s face but he wasn’t letting his feelings get the best of him.

"I told you to not do it!" Asher hissed and I smiled.

"I’m only a little dizzy, Sir Asher. I’m used to curing fifty to seventy people at once." I said making his eyes go wide.

"Yo-You can cure that many at once?" He gasped.

"I have heard that even the Saint can do so, that’s why I thought that if he is not able to move around then I shall do it." I spoke as we walked out of the place where the death was replaced by life.

"How... How are you able to do it?" He asked.

With my Dragon blood.

"God’s gift." I smiled.

I was taken to the local noble’s house where a room was prepared not only for me but also for the Templar knights.

The Count who looked after the territory was Folan Rice and while he was pleased to have me, he didn’t seem that eager to be hospitable to the knights.

The food was good and also the little daughter of Count Rice.

"So, you mean, you’ve been travelling alone with your knight?!" Little Wendy gasped loudly covering her mouth.

"Yes!"

She was apparently ten years old with curly brown hair and bright and curious round green eyes.

Currently, she was in my room to listen to the adventure stories that she thought I might have from travelling. It was quite a ridiculous idea if a normal noble lady considered it but, for me, it was a normal thing.

"Then," her eyes sparkled brightly and I smiled as she looked really adorable.

"Then?" I asked.

"You and the knight-"

"Ah, ah, ah!" I quickly interrupted her before she could form a strange angle.

"My knight is married and has a daughter of your age," I pinched her button nose making her giggle but then pout.

"Then, you and the golden knight are not..."

Heh?

"Wait, Golden knight?" I asked and she looked at me.

"Yes, the knight with white armor... So, you and him aren’t..."

"Wait, Wendy, that person isn’t my knight. He’s a knight from the temple." I corrected, "The knight I travelled with all this while is different."

Her eyes grew wide and were brimming with curiosity again.

"Then what about the Golden knight? Is he married?"

"I don’t know,"

"If he’s not will you be his Princess then?!" She asked excitedly making me laugh.

This child’s imagination was fun, she wasn’t even trying to hide her intentions.

"I don’t know,"

"Awe..." She pouted again making her flushed cheeks puff.

I poked at them with a smile as I said, "How about I tell you a story about a Dragon knight?"

Her eyes sparkled again as she bounced up and down, "A Dragon knight?!"

"Yes, the adventures of the Dragon knight who saved a kingdom and the Princess."

"Yes! Yes! I want to hear it!"

I chuckled before I started telling one of the stories that I used to tell to the Elf and Dwarf kids. They used to enjoy listening to stories as well and whenever I went over they wouldn’t let me leave without a story.

The Dark Elves had also joined in on that session and now I had some older kids to entertain as well. I felt bad for Kent sometimes.

Poor thing had to become a nanny of so many kids at such young age. But then again, he was the best caretaker for the kids so, I let him be.

Thinking about the kids, I suddenly missed them. I hoped they were doing fine and were training well without causing much troubles.

Wendy yawned widely making me smile and even the maid who was overlooking her from a distance smiled.

After a while, Wendy started dozing off and I asked the maid to take her back to her bedroom. Wendy wasn’t ready to go as she clung to me but eventually, her sleep overpowered her and she had to leave.

I fell back in the bed staring at the ceiling contemplating over whether to let Uncle know that I was reaching the Temple soon or if I should wait till I actually infiltrate it and then let him know.

At the end, I decided to tell him later as I still hadn’t met anyone important from the temple except for Sir Asher.

I wondered how Silas would find this news about the Saint being a child. He would definitely think that I would bring the kid back with me.

[Goddess of Wisdom bets that you will take the Saint with you.]

"Wait, what?"

[Defender of Divine Glory also bets that you will take the child with you.]

"You guys..." I sighed, "Well, don’t you have something to say, Giver of Gifts?"
