Chapter 204: 203. Foundation Of Loyalty (4)
The time passed by quite quickly after I returned from the battlefield.
The reports from that place were quite good enough as the boys were achieving big things, the only task that was left for me was to wait for the right time.
Roan’s work had increased considering we now had more allies and also more places to look after. I was gathering more and more assassin guilds under me and spreading the roots of my information network past the boundaries.
Herot city was partially handled by both Lord Devil and Lord Hawke to help me out while Lord Snake aka Zach would usually drop by with some good information that would help my guild.
The Underworld cities and their Lords were now starting to merge under the banner of the Dragon’s crest completely uprooting the Queen’s hold over it. Her spies and informants were hunted like dogs all over the place and she could do nothing but sit in her place and see it happen.
The King’s attention was more towards the war while I recommended and filled a few of my men discreetly under his nose into his court to keep an eye on him and also to deepen the rift between the King and the Queen.
It wasn’t an easy task but it was going smoothly enough for me to take some time off and go visit Eldarf manor for the time being.
"Master!" The kids jumped on me followed by the Dark Elves who stood at a distance watching me with smiles and bright eyes.
It seemed like staying here had their effect on them, I looked at the kids who were snuggling to me as if trying to bathe in my essence.
"Master, Lee is awesome!"
"Volga is amazing too!"
"They make the mud dolls dance!"
"An-And they even brought the dead flower back to life!"
The kids excitedly shouted while pointing at the Dark Elves and I smiled listening to them before Kent showed up.
"Are you even going to let Master inside or will you keep him out here all day?" He hollered.
The kids laughed before they wrapped their arms around mine while dragging me inside while telling me about the amazing things that they came across while living with their counterparts.
Once in the hall, I sat down on the chair while all the Elves and Dwarves gathered around me.
"Master, Master, you know Cynthia can make the dolls dance!" Cyrus chirped.
"An-And Big Brother Anore is so strong that he’s my teacher now!" Rowan announced.
"You’ve mingled quite well with them," I said, "Do you like them?"
"Yes!" The kids shouted with grins and I looked at the Dark Elves who still stood at a distance looking with glistening eyes and I gestured them to come over.
They walked up to me before they crouched near my feet with the kids.
"How are you all doing here? Is it fun?"
The Dark Elves smiled and some nodded while others replied on a positive note.
"We didn’t know we could be welcomed somewhere so happily."
"Yes, the kids are so lovable that I almost forgot all the hatred we used to get."
"I didn’t think that there could be a place where we could feel belonged."
"And it’s all because of you Master." Cynthia said.
I chuckled, "You made the choice, you chose it for yourself."
Anore shook his head, "If you wouldn’t have given us a choice then we might still be living a life of bondage. So, thank you, Master."
I smiled and placed my hand over his black hair ruffling it a little before facing the other Dark Elves.
"Live comfortably from now on here, the kids must have told you about how the things work here, right?"
The Dark Elves nodded and I added, "I hope it’s not taxing that you have to spar with these kids, they are quite... energetic."
"Master!"
"Yes, we’re energetic!" The kids cheered as I mentioned them and the Dark Elves chuckled.
"They are, but fighting like this is not vexing at all," Anore said.
"But the kids usually make us want to fight with all we’ve got." Another elf said.
"It’s still very fun."
"I love it here!"
I was glad that these guys were able to live here happily, their tensed and haggard appearances had changed remarkably. Now they looked more healthier, their skin seemed like it was glowing and their eyes held the light of life.
Their magic allowed them necromancy and a little elemental manipulation which was why they were able to show the kids a few tricks but as of now the kids weren’t able to handle using elemental mana on their own.
So, the Dark Elves though with limited information could depart some knowledge onto these kids.
Apart from that I would need to arrange for the Dwarves to learn their basic skill of forging and for that I would need the best blacksmith if not for a Dwarf himself.
There was still a lot to do but I still had time so, I wasn’t in a hurry, everything would happen at their respective time.
Eden had gone to ruins because there was no one to look after it now so, it was closed down making the school built at Oasis Foundation gain attention. But then again the nobles were pouring into it because the rules strictly said that there were no status distinctions in the campus. The kids would be found discriminating against other kids would face punishments.
There were a few noble kids who had taken admission there because of my name and also because a few of talented professors from Eden had transferred here.
The ally families which were under my wing were already spreading the name of Oasis far and wide and I was getting more and more requests for affiliations from the other influential nobles.
"Another one," Roan announced waving a letter in his hand, "This guy says that if you would agree to kick out the street children from Oasis school then he could help bring your foundation to the heights of moon."
"Oasis doesn’t have to go to moon it should reach the needful people and that’s they motive. Get our people to teach him a lesson, how dare he tell me what to do with my place!"
"All right!" Roan said and placed the letter in the basket of the people who were going to be punished for their bad intentions.
"This one should be executed, I guess," Roan remarked as he read another letter.
"What does it say?" I asked as I kept working on my stuff.
"He’s asking you to marry his daughter who, I guess is not older than 14, and to merge businesses."
"Bankruptcy." I announced making Roan chuckle.
"You’re quite lenient, Master."
"Death would be a sweet release, Roan. People like him should suffer at the lengths that they would beg for death." I explained making him hum.
"All right, next." He mumbled as he placed the letter in the basket.
"What the-" he gasped and I glanced at him once before focusing back on my work.
"What is it?"
"This man says that his friend told him about you as how you are a mage who are capable of killing anyone so, they want you to kill someone for them."
"An assassination request?"
"Straight to Baron Ocean Ryujin." Roan spoke looking at me with a serious expression.
"Is the name of the target mentioned?" I asked.
"Are you going to take the request?" He gasped, "This bastard has literally said that,"
He looked at the letter and started reading a few lines, "Baron since you are already a criminal so, it wouldn’t be any problem for you to get rid of my enemy. Once you kill him I will pay you any amount that would be required for your service."
I hummed while my Dragon’s blood sizzled under my skin.
The way my Dragon’s blood was becoming more and more expressive with time, it made me wonder that the fusion might almost be complete. But to my dismay, whenever I checked, it showed the same number.
"What to do?" Roan asked.
"Which acquaintance of his is affiliated with us?" I asked.
"Earl Kore." He answered.
"Earl and his family will disappear from the face of earth and this guy," I pointed at the letter, "bankruptcy."
"Yes, Master."
It wasn’t new to have people leak information about me but since I still had to keep the code of secrecy and not force people to sign the magic contract, I had to deal with such nuisances. Snitches like Earl would become an example for those who would dare to think they could brag about me and think that they wouldn’t be found out.
"Another blabbermouth." Roan said.
"Same punishment?"
"Yes, the ones who promote are fine but the ones who brag, lie or snitch would disappear with their families. If there’s any investigation team formed for it then take care of them as well." I instructed.
"Yes, Master." He replied with a smile.
Just like that, a whole year and a half passed by and I was ready for another step of my plan. The vital plan for the sake of this war.
I looked at Lyall who was dressed in an all black outfit and then at myself as I was also dressed in a black outfit before adjusting my invisibility brooch and placing the teleportation pendant over my neck. I also had two of the disguise earstuds with me along with my original Ocean form.
I had handed him one of the teleportation pendants just in case before we walked out of my mansion. I had to go on a long journey and for that it was important that we moved discreetly.
